A while back I installed the Yocto project and built the core-image-sato for the qemu x86. I left the downloads directory as the default build/downloads.
Now I want to build images for the BeagleBone Black. So I decided to move the downloads directory up under /opt/poky/ and edited the BeagleBone Black local.conf file accordingly to set DL_DIR ?= "/opt/poky/downloads". But when I run bitbake core-image-minimal, it creates a downloads directory under my BeagleBone Black build directory and starts getting everything off the net.
I'm running poky krogoth under CentOS 7. What am I missing?
Thanks.
Never mind. Pilot error. I failed to notice that that line of local.conf was commented. Removing the # did the trick.

PhpStorm 2020.1
Windows 10
Apache installed with XAMPP.
I am trying to get PhpStorm's built in server to recognize a document root. PhpStorm keeps running localhost:[port]/[project folder]/default.html. It should be running localhost:[port]/default.html
Because it keeps placing the project folder into the path, all the links fail.
I have edited the c:/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf file to change the document root and confirmed it in the console, that didn't work. Even setting the document root to the project folder didn't work.
It appears there is a setting or a different conf file that need to be adjusted, but I can't find it or figure out what is missing from the documentation.
How to open a project in PhpStorm from command line on Windows?
I tired this:
How to open a directory in PHPStorm or IntelliJ (or any JetBrains IDE) from the command line? but can't find Tools -> Create command line launcher on Windows.
I am using latest PhpStorm.
To open the current directory just run:
phpstorm64 .
If you are using git bash on Windows run:
cmd "/C phpstorm64 ."
Make sure that C:\Program Files\JetBrains\PhpStorm 2018.3.3\bin is in your environment variable PATH (it is by default after the installation)
Edit 2021:
Install Jetbrains Toolbox
Go to settings
Enable "Shell Scripts" and follow the instructions
Now you can use "phpstorm ." to open the current directory.
On macOS ( I assume on windows too) there is option to "Create Command-line Launcher". Just click that and you are good to go next time you open a terminal.
You can even specify how you would like to start "pstorm" / "phpstorm" / "ps" etc.. up to you.
Command-line launcher is currently only available fo UNIX; there is a feature request for providing it on Windows, IDEA-114307, please feel free to vote for it.
If you like to start PhpStorm from command prompt, open cmd console, cd to %PS_install_dir%/bin and run either phpstorm64.exe or phpstorm.bat, passing a path to project folder to it, like it's described in https://www.jetbrains.com/help/phpstorm/opening-files-from-command-line.html. If you like to start it from any directory, add %PS_install_dir%/bin to your system %PATH%
I know this is too late, but it will help others if they need it:
if you want to open phpStorm in the current directory via cmd/Powershell, just use this command:
phpstorm64.exe .
Or if you want to open it in another directory, just use:
phpstorm64.exe YOUR_DIRECTORY_PATH
as simple as that!
go to your project using terminal
Cd myproject
and write
phpstorm64.exe
then hit enter
I see this is a little old but I wanted to supply my answer as I was grappling with this yesterday. My solution was to use cygwin.
Track down the phpstorm bin folder called something like C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\JetBrains\Toolbox\apps\PhpStorm\ch-0\201.7223.96\bin and add it to your windows system Path environment variable.
Next fire up a cygwin terminal and navigate into your project directory. I'm not a bash expert so I struggled to sort out the code as an alias but if you run:
crntproj=$(cygpath -w $PWD)
phpstorm.bat $crntproj
You need cygpath because simply running phpstorm.bat $PWD doesn't work as PHPStorm tries to open a folder called $PWD. I tried a bunch of variations trying to get it to open and none seemed to work.
It will fire up phpstorm with the current folder as the project path. And you now have a terminal feed from your project too.
It downloads openshift into C:\Users\[user]\.minishift\machines folder. How to change this location to, say, D:\My VMs\? The config set is not very helpful in explaining setting which config for which.
Minishift verision: v1.15.1
Platform: Windows
Driver: Hyper-V
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It looks like the machines directory can't be set directly through config. It is set relative to a base directory in instance_dirs.go.
That base directory, by default, is the .minishift directory in the home directory of the user, e.g. C:\Users\[user]\.minishift on Windows, but this can be overridden by setting the environment variable MINISHIFT_HOME.
The base directory could also be a profile directory, if you are not using the default profile (the default being minishift).
$ minishift profile list
- minishift Stopped
$ minishift profile myprofile
Profile 'myprofile' set as active profile.
The machines directory for myprofile would then be created under $MINISHIFT_HOME/profiles/myprofile/machines, e.g. on Windows C:\Users\[user]\.minishift\profiles\myprofile\machines.
So you can set MINISHIFT_HOME and move the whole contents of the .minishift directory, including machines, somewhere else but it doesn't look like you can move just machines alone.
Perhaps, you could solve this at the OS-level by creating a symlink between C:\Users\[user]\.minishift\machines and D:\My VMs\.
In case it helps others and so they don't need to test the different ways of using symlink as well as to expand on #codemonkey great answer this is what I did to use symlink as my C drive had no available space. I'm also using hyper-v as the driver.
Note: I do have minishift.exe installed in the apps folder on my D drive
Note 2: I did have to run the command prompt in admin mode
From the C:\Users\[user]\.minishift folder I moved the "machines" folder to D:\Apps\minishift-1.32.0-windows-amd64\
I first tried a soft link which didn't work, I then tried a hadr link, but I was getting errors so I used a "directory junction" link with the /J switch as such C:\WINDOWS\system32>mklink /J C:\Users\[user]\.minishift\machines D:\Apps\minishift-1.32.0-windows-amd64\machines
You should get the following result Junction created for C:\Users\[user]\.minishift\machines <<===>> D:\Apps\minishift-1.32.0-windows-amd64\machines
Then if necessary run minishift delete --clear-cache WARNING this will delete any previous images and hosts you might have!
Then start minishift as normal with minishift start
Grab a cup of coffee or go smoke a cigarette or vape as it will take awhile for the OpenShift server to be started.
Hope this answer might help others who face a similar issue.
I am new to Ubuntu and am trying to create a html file that I can access outside of Ubuntu using apache2. I am using ubuntu (12.04) within a vmware player. I have installed apache2 and created a html document using text editor, which I can open it using a browser within ubunutu, but when I try to open in my regular browser - windows 8, it cannot find the file. I know that it is finding apache2, cause when I type the ip address in the windows browser it says It works! so the problem is I do not know how to save/convert the html file i have created in the text editor so that i can open it in my windows browser. Can someone please instruct me on how to do this? thanks.
Put your file in /var/www/
save it as index.html
If you dont name the file "index" apache will show you a listing of all the files in "/var/www".
You will need to get use to using a "command line", this is how the things your getting into are done.
Example:
sudo mv index.html /var/www
This command will move index.html to /var/www

I am try to keep separate workspace directory and code directories in my php project and sweating to understand/find how this could be achieved. A couple of revisions back I tried phpStorm and found that it does not provide such feature.
I just want to know if phpstorm 6.0 has this feature or still lacking it ? If possible please help me out.
Work Around
File > Settings >[Directories]
+[Add Content Root] to add external directory
Assuming that you have created project separate from code. Some of the tool might not work
as expected
This works for linux using sshfs, sorry for windows users.
I've created this folder structure in my pc
/mnt/remote_code/code/
And i have to mount code from server like this
sshfs user#server:/var/www/server_code/ /mnt/remote_code/code/
Code from server will be mounted in code folder
In PS I open this directory: /mnt/remote_code/
So, that means PS will create this folder /mnt/remote_code/.idea (indexing and saving all project and ide settings), and keeps the code folder (with remote code inside) without changes.
Hope it help you.
Greetings.
