I need to control who can log into the SQL server web portal.
I'm running SSRS 2016.
I tried going to Site Settings > Security and removing all users/groups listed and adding just my windows account as an admin, but other people can still login without any problems. I googled around but I can't seem to find anything. Most of the sites I go to tell me to do what I've already done.
I need to be able to lock it down to just a couple people that can log into the server, and only one account that can deploy the solution.
(We've been having problems with people creating their own RDL's uploading them and using them instead of using the solution which is in SVN).
Just change the security of all folders and all site settings to only allow YOUR user. That way even if they get on the site they will have no access to any folders.

I currently have a trial on my GoDaddy account. I created a tester domain and I'm trying to make my website entirely out of HTML (not with GoDaddy website builder). For some reason, it's only letting me add HTML code in certain places on website builder. How do I add HTML files using cpanel to my domain?
As you mentioned you are only trying to use html files, use any free shared website hosting service provider online (Some googling would work). Sign Up, login to the cpanel you will be prompted by the hosting service provider either by E-Mail or on the dashboard when you login the nameservers which are something like 'ns1.hostingprovider.com'.Login to your godaddy dashboard open your domain settings and update the nameservers with the ones your hosting provider gives you.Log on back to your hosting cpanel navigate to add files(html,css, a Readme file is optional) to your domain and wait Boom, and your files can go live within an hour of updating the nameservers on godaddy but sometimes this might take 24-48 hours.
Note - This process is only to know the general process to host files, if you consider hosting larger applications built in Multiple stacks and environments please check other threads when trying to deploy the application.
I am running Report Service Manager - Web portal for accessing the Reports. For Development and Testing purpose, Report service is running from my computer.
Whenever Testing Team tries to access the web from their end, report service is asking an Initial Authentication of my computer account. ( Windows Authentication ). How to skip this authentication mode ? This is an Internal Application, i want Report service to run on any computer without asking any authentications.
If you are all on the same domain, simply add "DomainName\All Users" with the appropriate role to the portal. The testers may also need to add your site as a trusted site in their browsers. "All Users" is exactly as it sounds - any user account on that domain will have the access you grant.
Alternatively, if you need to disable security entirely (bad idea), you'll have to configure a new security extension - it's relatively simple to do, especially with all the samples you can find online (google "SSRS custom authentication" or "SSRS anonymous authentication"), but if you've never done anything like this before, you may struggle if you run into any unexpected issues.

Been trying to get SSRS reporting service set up for a while now, and been stuck on the issue with UAC.
After setting up the Reporting Service Configuration Manager settings, with service account using my PC's login account, Database using ReportServer$SQLEXPRESS, etc. when launching the server # 127.0.0.1/Reports it directs me to 127.0.0.1/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx and then after login with my PC's login this is what I get on my browser -
"User 'OCTETHP\Support' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed."
And I have done my researches online, I turned off UAC, I am on the administrator account, and I also tried to run the browser with right click to run as administrator option on both chrome and IE. Still does not solve this problem. Could anyone help me out with this??

It is likely the problem is with the account the reporting server is running under (OCTETHP\Support). You may need to add this user to the web user group (IIS_WPG depending on your OS version). If that doesn't work, you can set the user to be a local administrator and work the permissions back from there.
If you want to run the reporting services from another account you'd want to follow these steps:
Open IIS Manager
Under websites locate the SSRS website (/Reports in your case)
In basic properties check the App Pool the site is running under
Go to the App Pools section of IIS and open the advanced properties
Setup the user that the App Pool runs under
You'll need to make sure the user is assigned to the web user group, and has permissions to access the folder that the website points to.
Ive done a fair amount of searching on this, but ive struggled to find the answer.
At present I have an access program that sits on a remote windows 2008 server and users can log into it through a remote app. In the local version of my program, users can hit a button and email through outlook, but obviously if your accessing it remotely it tries to open outlook remotely.
So here's the question: Is there any functionality that will allow me to open Outlook locally whilst using the remote app?
Ive read about scriptable virtual channels but i would like someone to confirm if this is possible (or call me a moron for even contemplating the idea).

Split the database. Your client will then open Outlook locally.

For my websites I use Dreamhost. Dreamhost requires you to create a hostname (ex: mysql.mclindigital.com) that the database will reside on. For me it's simple, if I want to access phpMyAdmin, I simply navigate to mysql.mclindigital.com, and it enters into phpMyAdmin automatically.
Apparently Dreamhost is in the minority using this method, because most people seem to use "localhost". So, how do I access phpMyAdmin for these websites? Will I need to get their Web Panel login info to browse around for this info?
As an example, I had a past client and I had to go here: http://216.120.237.104:2082/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php to get into their phpMyAdmin. I never really understood what I was doing, but it just worked. Now I am in the same situation, but this time the client isn't as tech-savvy and is unable to give me the URL I need to go to.
Also, I should point out I am not 100% certain that they have phpMyAdmin installed. I do know they have a database however, because they are running a Wordpress Blog.
There is nothing magic or special about phpMyAdmin. It is just
a bunch of php scripts.
Some webhosts(Such as dreamhost) may install it as standard
similary to formmail and a bunch of other tools they may install.
Your problem is most likely that you client don't have
phpMyAdmin installed, and the easy solution(If you have ftp access)
is to go to http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php download
phpMyAdmin, configure it and then just upload it to their ftp server
your self. Then you can acces it similary to any other php script.
