How could I automatically upload files from my directory to server? [duplicate]

An ASP.NET application (running on Windows server/IIS 7) has to transfer big size files uploaded by current user to an external SFTP server. Due to the file size the idea is to do this asynchronously.
The idea is that the ASP.NET application stores the uploaded file on a local directory of the Windows server. The current user can continue his work. A Windows service or a Quartz job (other tools(*)/ideas?) is now responsible to transfer the file to the external SFTP server.
(*) Are there existing tools that listen on changes of a Windows directory and then move the files on a SFTP server (incl. handling communication errors/retries)?
If there is no existing solution, do you have had similar requirements? What do we have to consider? Because the connection to the SFTP server is not very stable we need an optimized error handling with auto retry functionality.
To watch for changes in a local directory in .NET, use
the FileSystemWatcher class.
If you are looking for an out of the box solution, use the keepuptodate command in WinSCP scripting.
A simple example of WinSCP script (e.g. watch.txt):
open sftp://username:password#host/
keepuptodate c:\local_folder_to_watch /remote_folder
exit
Run the script like:
winscp.com /script=watch.txt
Though this works only, if the uploaded files are preserved in the remote folder.

How to automatically start and keep socket.io instance in server

I have been developing a chat application using socket.io on Ubuntu and it needs to be run manually using the command line prior to test it on browser.
I am a PHP developer and how am I supposed to run the application on the server side without putting hands on the terminal?
Furthermore after executing the .js file via command line, I can test the application typing the host and a port typed on in the address bar. How can I overcome that if I am to embed the chat on a PHP page? Currently it looks like an external application.
The socket.io chat uses a .html page to draw the interface. How can I embed it in a PHP file?
Please help.

Publishing Lightswitch localy

I'm trying to publish ligthswitch on local network with from VisualStudio 2013,
I have installed IIS and launched web-deployment services. I Think I also installed all the possible features from web platform installer.
When I publish lightswitch app I get to this screen.
and I dont know how to get pass this service Url line. Whenever I type localhost or Computer name which is the server name, perhaps? I get an error
"Lightswitch must be run with administrative privileges to deploy to local host.
I fugured I could also just use import settings file. It could be alternative way.
but how do I create this xml file.
I've answered this for you before. You may have missed a step:
Open IIS
Locate "Default Web Site"
Right click and find Deploy -> Configure Web Deploy Publishing... (This step will create the XML file that you can use for Import Settings...
(If this menu option isn't available it means you haven't got the Management Service installed. And/or you haven't got the ALL of the Web Deploy 3.5 components installed.)

Is there a quick way to import my external css files so that I can convert my dynamic webpage into a static one?

I have a wordpress site and I want to be able to make one of the pages 'standalone' html so that I can display it in a browser that's not connected to the internet. Any ideas?
To get a local copy of your actual page view user Ctrl+s. This will not include all css/js and might be not what you want. Its a better screenshot.
To get a fully working local version install xampp to get a webserver and a mysql server.
https://www.apachefriends.org/
Download you WordPress instance and move it in the htdocs directory that is inside the xampp installation.
Create a mysqldump of your wordpress database and load it into your local mysqlserver.
Configure your local WordPress instance so it can connect to the database.

Uploading MVC Website and MySQL to Webhost

I created a website using Code Ignitor and MySQL and want to upload everything to 000webhost.com
How do I:
upload my models, views and controllers to the public_html folder of 000webhost?
get my MySQL database up and running on 000webhost?
Thanks in advance
I am presuming that your control panel is cPanel. If thats the case then upload all your files in the web root of the server. Create a database, and change that details in database.php inside config folder. thats it, your site will be up and running.
Your .htaccess (at least mod_rewrite for codeigniter) will not work if you use the free 000webhost service (at least the last time i wanted it, the support told me that they doesn't support it... that was thy time i signed up for their free service for private test of scripts i wrote). Another thing is that for the free hosting they use their own control panel (not cPanel), cPanel is for the paid accounts.
Anyway they both offer ftp accounts, mysql databases and of course web ftp (online file manager). All you need is a ftp client (such as FileZilla or even Windows Explorer itself).
