Windows Phone 8.1 App cant find Client Secret Key - windows-phone-8.1

I am trying to setup my WP8.1 app to use PushSharp Notifications.
I need to specify the CLIENT SECRET KEY. All MSDN documentation on this is outdated and i cant find it anywere.
I have created my app and can see all other info e.g. SID etc

Instead of the map working correctly, this is what I see:

play-services-location is what I need for the Google Maps, correct? I was looking at the list at https://developers.google.com/android/guides/setup and I assume that Google Location and Activity Recognition - com.google.android.gms:play-services-location:16.0.0 is what I need for Google Maps. Is this correct?
UPDATE 1: I already have Maps SDK for Android enabled:
The error says: Ensure that the "Google Maps Android API v2" is enabled.. Is it referring to the Maps SDK for Android that I am showing in the screenshot in this UPDATE 1?
UPDATE 2: I have Maps SDK for Android enabled:
When I click the MANAGE button, I can go to the section to configure credentials that I showed in UPDATE 1.
UPDATE 3: I see the Map displayed correctly on all versions of Android on the Emulator. But on physical devices, the map never shows up. I see the Google logo and the red balloon, but now the map when I run the app on physical phones. Only on the Emulator everything works. Any ideas why?

Hey I had the same problem today!,I solved it very easy for first you have to go https://console.developers.google.com and enable the android SDK maps and then create the api key, return in xamarin go to your manifest and add the google maps api key

In my case, what I did was to create a new project at https://console.developers.google.com/. I used Android apps for Application restrictions:
For the Restrict usage to your Android apps section, I had to provide a Package name and a SHA-1 certificate fingerprint. The Package name was in my app/build.gradle, specifically here:
applicationId "[my package name]"
The SHA-1 certificate fingerprint I found it from Android Studio by running signingReport:
The result included something like this:

Now the map works correctly in my Android app:
UPDATE 1: To my surprise, the maps were working correctly only on the Android Studio Emulator but not on real Android physical devices. The solution was what I posted at https://stackoverflow.com/a/56307654/4242086.
I got the exact same symptoms when I moved the project to a new computer. My solution was to generate a new key based on the error message. The google_maps_api.xml file had an URL in a comment to generate key but that is a static thing, so after moving the project to a new computer I rewrote the URL to match the error message's version.

Generated the key, put it in the XML file and it worked well.
In my case, I did everything right. but was still getting the error it turned out that changing the attribute "android:name" in the manifest file solved the issue.

To

Time changed the configurations steps. Here the new one.
Set up your project https://console.cloud.google.com/projectselector2/home/dashboard
Enable Google Maps API. Go to https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/library?filter=category:maps&_ga=2.192684329.2027491681.1618180744-3962552.1609436892 choose the API you want to enable
Go to API Credentials https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/apiui/credential of your project
On the Credentials page, click Create credentials > API key.
The API key created dialog displays your newly created API key
Click Close.
In Android Studio, open your app-level build.gradle file and add the following code to the plugins element. id 'com.google.secrets_gradle_plugin' version '0.5'
Save the file and sync your project with Gradle
Open values\google_maps_api.xml and replace YOUR_API_KEY with the API got in the point 4.
Check in your AndroidManifest.xml the MAPS_API_KEY is replaced with your actual key

Insert in your AndroidManifest.xml

Go to the APIs & Services > Credentials page https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/apiui/credential
Select the API key that you want to set a restriction on. The API key property page appears
Under Key restrictions --> Select Android apps.
Click + Add package name and fingerprint.
Enter your package name and SHA-1 certificate fingerprintClick Restrict key.
Select Maps SDK for Android from Select APIs dropdow
To finalize your changes, click Save.
For those who still haven't figured it out yet, again take a look at the logging below the error message. Pay close attention to your certifcate_fingerprint and package_name printed out in the logging. Compare these diligently with the ones specified in your Google Development Console.
I picked up an old hobby project again after almost an entire year of inactivity. I probably changed something somewhere that triggered a change of the certificate fingerprint, or visa versa.

How to publish Windows Store App with enterpriseAuthentication and sharedUserCertificates

I am a developer who is new to Windows Store development.
I wrote one Windows Store App and tried to upload it, yet I encounter some errors after submit the appxupload file.
The error messages are shown as below:
I have no idea how to make my developer account authorized to publish apps with the capability it mentioned. Is there a different set of capability for different developer account for Windows Store Application?
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Google Api Keys for Windows Phone App

I want to integrate google custom search in windows phone app for image searching
I create the project on https://console.developers.google.com/
When i went to API & Authentication section of project description to create Api key,A popup is giving only four option server key,browser key,android key and ios key.There is no option to create api key for windows phone app.
Is it not possible to integrate google custom search in windows phone app.
Feel free to opt for iOS key, it does not matter. I did so previously while working with Google Tasks API and all is fine...
I created a browser key for my applications and also added URL wildcards for sites I would like the CSE to search such as
*.com; *.org; *.net etc.

Is it programmatically possible to update a windows store apps from within the app?

Is there an API that allows to me to programmatically pull the latest update from the store and refresh the current version that the user is using? If not, is it possible for the current app to programmatically know that there is a new version available?
Any samples/examples would be highly appreciated.
You can't programmatically install any Store software. But you can programmatically open the Store to let it do the user manually.
That said, there's no official Store API which you could ask about app versions (you might be able to parse the Store's HTML pages, but I recommend against this approach).
What you can do: Put a small XML file on your website which contains the latest app version number. Your app then can read this file and compare this desired version against the running app's version. If the app is outdated, the app can show a message box to the user.
I ended up using WNS and Azure Notification Hub to send a push notification to the app when it is launched. The notification is in the form of a toast message that essentially states that a new release is available. But if you updated/downloaded the app after xx/xx/xxxx, no updates are necessary.
I know it is a little cludgy but at least the users now know that the version of the app that they are using may be dated. I control the notification through Azure Mobile Service (which is free for up to 10 apps) and can fully modify the actual script.

New OneNote note via WP8 app

Is there any way of programmatically adding a new note to OneNote via a Windows Phone 8 app? I know I can't interact directly with the OneNote app, but wondering if there's a way to add directly to the Personal (Web) file on SkyDrive via an API or sending an email or whatever. I've done some searching and I'm guessing not, but can't hurt to ask, right?
You can connect so SkyDrive via the Live Connect API. There's a tutorial for interacting with SkyDrive from Windows Phone here. I've not tried interacting with a OneNote file but if it's on SkyDrive, it should be accessible.
Having said that, OneNote uses a proprietary format and I'm not sure if there's an API you can call on the phone to create OneNote pages programmatically. It does have an interface which you could look into but it seems you might need to do that server side and interact via a web service from your app.
