Are Windows 10 Store apps protected from copying/stealing/piracy etc - windows-store-apps

Some software License Manager tools (such as this one) allow you to manage your software licenses so that your software can only be installed on one machine (using machine ID, hardware locking etc). Do windows 10 Store Apps have that safety from piracy of your app once it's installed from windows store?

The Windows Store will check for a valid license each time the app is launched.
For charging app or apps containing in-app-purchase product, the developer is also able to use the Store receipts API to perform additional checks. See Using receipts to verify product purchases.
However, it doesn't mean that the Store will check the license automatically.

Guidance on app submitted to AppSource that targets Enterprise B2B Customers

We recently submitted our Add-in for approval to be available on AppSource/Office Store and failed approval. Some of the feedback and policies make sense and we have addressed those items. However, there are a few policies that I'm not sure how to address and looking for guidance.
Policy 7.1 & 7.16 are about the supportURL not being publicly available and requiring Sign-in. Our add-in is not a general user add-in but targeted to Enterprise Customers of our Platform. They are provided a login for our support site so is this not sufficient? Do we really need a public url for an add-in targeted to Enterprise Customers?
As I was writing this I found the following link and wanted to make sure this was still valid and the same guidance for my scenario: App Submission - Help/Support Link Requirement
Policy 11.3 are about the Start-up experience needs to engage the user and show value proposition. Our users are Enterprise Users and have signed up for platform in which we will already guide them to use the Excel Add-in. Since they already know the value proposition from our sales team is there a way that this can be handled in our scenario without needing an explicit startup video or wizard walk through of app features?
Yes, this must be a public URL. The support link in your Seller Dashboard listing appears on the AppSource website so must be publicly available. It can be a link to your main website / or a contact page on your main website.
Have you seen the documentation on submitting Enterprise add-ins? This outlines which policies are not applicable when submitting an add-in which targets larger organizations and enterprises. It also explains how to declare, via test notes, that you are submitting an Enterprise add-in.

Publishing Word Add-In for use by customers

We are developing a Word Web Add-In that will be used exclusively by our customers rather than the general public. Customers will need to log into the Add-In in order to use it with credentials we supply. My question is, is this Add-In ok to be distributed via the Office Store? Will it fall foul of the validation process if its functionality is not publicly available ? Obviously, we can supply credentials to the verification team at Microsoft in order to get the app published.
If this is a problem, how do ISVs distribute Web Add-Ins to customers external to their organisation (i.e. Without Sharepoint or Office Admin Centre)?
This model is supported via the Office Store - this blog post on add-ins which target organizations and enterprises rather than consumers may be of interest to you.
Please ensure that your add-in description clearly states the need for an additional account, as well as supplying test credentials for the validation team to use.

Is the current user an Administrator - Windows Store App

There are plenty of examples for Windows Desktop apps that will say whether or not the current user is an Admin.
Here are two
http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsdesktop/CSUACSelfElevation-644673d3
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/86wd8zba(v=vs.110).aspx
My problem is that I need to check within a Windows 8 Store App and they have a subset of the main .NET api. The stuff around Principals and Role are missing.
The Windows.System.UserProfile.UserInformation class looked promising but that was a dead end.
Can it be done?
Thanks
This is useless, because Store Apps don't run when you have an account with full admin rights.
The Sandbox around the Apps requires UAC/ filtered rights. So your apps get never full admin rights and you can skip this check.

Windows phone "Scan the app for malware"

I'm going through the Windows Phone test suite before submitting my app to the Windows store.
The guidelines have the following section:
Requirement - 5.4.1 - Malicious software screening
Requirement Text - The app must be free of viruses, malware, and any malicious software. -
Test Steps -
Launch your app.
Scan the app for malware.
Verify that there are no viruses, malware or malicious software in the app.
What does "Scan your app for malware" mean? Is there some tool I'm supposed to use to scan the app for malware? The document contains no link to such tool and a google search and MSDN search did not yield much results.
I can't speak on behalf of MS but I imagine that the malware tools used internally aren't available outside. Having said that, you could still run scans using programs like MalwareBytes or Microsoft Security Essentials on your XAP file itself and/or rename XAP to ZIP and unzip it to scan the files individually. Viruses stored within the XAP file could be read in by an app and then spread onto other platforms (even if it doesn't affect the phone itself. The requirements may be discussing that.
If your app isn't doing anything suspicious and doesn't use unsupported APIs, I personally wouldn't worry too much. Whilst there may be some false positives sometimes, I'm not aware of any particular tool that this section of the requirements specifically refers to.
Edit - I was reminded that there is a Store Test Kit but I didn't initially post that as it doesn't specify that it does a malware check. Good idea to run it nevertheless.
[What Store Kit Tells You]
Whether the XAP file meets size requirements and whether the app manifest file is valid.
Whether a Direct3D app that targets Windows Phone 8 uses APIs that are not allowed on the phone.
Whether a background agent app uses APIs that are not allowed with background agents.
What capabilities the app uses (for apps that target Windows Phone OS 7.1 only).
Whether the specified images and screenshots meet certification requirements.
Whether the app icon and background image used in the app meet certification requirements.

Adhoc distribution of Windows Phone 8 apps

I am in process of developing app for windows phone 8. I need the adhoc distribution of my app to all devices within the organization. I don't want to publish it on the market instead i want the installation of app on the devices within the organization.
Do i need to buy another account for adhoc distribution or i can use the same $99 account for adhoc distribution of app.
Thanks in advance.
Well there are multiple ways to distribute apps,
Directly via Visual Studio or XAPDeploy (however the device must be developer unlocked, and connected via usb)
Via the normal Store/Marketplace
Via Store/Marketplace, with "Hide from users browsing or searching the Store" so that only users with the direct link to the store can find the app
Via Beta app distribution
edit: beta apps now do not have a 3 month limit anymore. Only restriction is, that you can "only" have 10000 users and each users email must be manually added for them to be able to download the beta
Company app distribution, which is likely what you are looking for. (However this seems to be relatively difficult) More information here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/jj206943(v=vs.105).aspx
Edit: I missed this one: Using "Windows Intune Direct Management for Windows Phone 8 Mobile Devices"
There are no other ways I know of.
