we want to build native client apps for Ethereum in both Android and IOS. Can you please recommend us what technologies should we use and what should be the architecture of these apps.

For iOS, you can use a 'web3swift' library, fully written in Swift! In the readme, you can find instructions on installation.
https://github.com/matterinc/web3swift

this is still "on the edge". You will need to use the light client.
I am afraid it will be Android only, at least for now.
You can find more here to get started:

Hello I'm looking for a freeware or cheap server where I can set up a RESTful webservice with database and php.
Does anyone suggest me a good one?
Thanks!

FireBase is a great option (I recommend this one). you can do authentication (g+, Twitter,Facebook, password based and anonymous), Realtime Database and hosting.
the free teir is pretty good, but it can get expensive.

You can also use CouchBase server but you need to do a lot of set ups for it. its free!

Need to call some OCR function to extract characters from images. Wondering if anyone have good recommendations? Not necessarily to be open source and free.
thanks in advance,
Lin
When it come to OCR(optical character recognition) Tesseract is consider a better choice.
https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tesseract
There is another library called microblink ocr. Code is available for ios, android and phone gap. Its accuracy is very good.

I have used GOCR a while ago, it's a command line tool, you can integrate it in your script if you are working server-side. I was satisfied with the result, it did a great job.

If by performance you are referring to FPS then you can use JavaScript Performance Monitor stats.js.
This class provides a simple info box that will help you monitor your
code performance.

Bonjour is not tied to any Apple licenses as stated on this official webpage. Instead Apple has released it under the Open Source Apache 2.0 license. This allows you to view the source code and also link against it in your own open source project.

Is there an open source implementation of Google AdWords, or is the technology protected in some way (such as being patented)?
Edit: To clarify, I'm looking for a 3rd party implementation of an AdWords-like system (that has nothing to to with Google AdWords beyond the concept and superficial similarity).
Depending on what part of the system you are looking to replicate you should give OpenX ad server a try. You can install it on your own servers or use their hosted version. There are other open source ad servers but this one seems to work pretty well.
