How can I create a user account called predixmachineuser with limited privilages - predix

To install predixmachine we have to create a user account called predixmachineuser with limited privilages.Where we have to create this account?Anyone please help?

I believe you are referring to the documentation found in Run Predix Machine as a Service.
The account must be in the environment in which you are running Predix Machine. If you are testing things out on a windows machine, then you'd create a windows user. If you are testing things out on a linux machine, then you'd create a linux user. If you are going to run it on a microprocessor it'll depend on the environment of that microprocessor. The specifics depend on where you are running it.
That said, it is in the docs as a production best practice. If you are just experimenting and learning the system, you might want to check out the guide Add Predix Machine on an Edge Device which avoids some complexity to help you build your first hello world without creating that user account at all.
Hope that helps get you started.

Encountered problem while integrating devstack - osm (open source mano)

I'm currently trying to develop a cloud in my pc using virtual box. The idea is that I have 2 virtual machines, one which devstack installed (all in one) and the other with osm mano. Right now both have everything installed. Hence, I can log in to mano via user and password 'admin' as well as to devstack.
Current properties:
VM1 (devstack): IP (enp0s8) -> 192.168.56.101
Login to 192.168.56.101 -> correct
VM2 (mano): IP (enp0s8) -> 192.168.56.105
Login to 192.168.56.105 -> correct
As some of you may guess, I have 2 network interfaces in every vm, the first one being NAT (enp0s3 with 10.0.2.15 IP) and the second one being Host Only (192.168.56.x according to virtual box).
Needless to say, I can ping from one virtual machine to another without any problem.
Now, in the past I've being using devstack (ubuntu 18.04) in order to play with it a little bit, learn how to deploy instances, create groups and so on. Indeed, I developed a topology with an instance as a router and nagios as the monitoring tool system. It worked and I learnt a lot!
Anyway, what I want in this case is starting from scratch (scratch meaning having downloaded mano and devstack but without going further). So here I am, trying to integrate OSM with Devstack, making use of osm-vim command as it is:
osm vim-create --name openstack-site --user admin --password my_openstack_password --auth_url http://192.168.56.101:5000/v3 --tenant admin --account_type openstack
In this case, my openrc file (downloaded from horizon) resulted in my auth_url being:
export OS_AUTH_URL=http://192.168.56.101:5000/v3
What I'm trying to get my head into is how it's possible that this doesn't work, as whenever I log-in to mano web interface (after osm-vim command) I go to VIM accounts and operational state equals to "error".
Any kind of help would be much appreciated, as I've being struggling for a week now.
Thanks in advance!
I had the same problem. At the beginning I thought It was a network problem, but finally I found out It was due to a SSL problem. The most easy solution is to put a specific flag to avoid the SSL verification until the developers fix it. "--config '{insecure: True}'"
I also encountered this problem when I finished installing OSM-10 and OpenStack-Ussuri for Ubuntu18.04 some days ago. I solved this problem by change the url "--auth_url http//:192.168.23.18:5000/v3" to "-- auth_url http//:controller:5000/v3" and put "192.168.23.18 controller" in the ro container "/etc/hosts". The "controller" here is the host name where you install your openstack and which is used is your keystone authentication urls. Maybe you also have solved this problem but this problem is so troublesome and I hope more people do not be annoyed at this~

difference Open-shift advance and quick installation

I am new to Openshift world. When I try to setup Openshift cluster (I tried mini-shift already), I got two main styles (or ways) to setup open-shift.
1. Advanced installation
2. Quick installation
As the name suggests I think in advance installation we can get more control on installation, but quick installation is interactive but less controlled installation.
I googled out but I did not get any link for pros and cons for each of this type. I did not understand which way I can choose when. Can somebody help me out?
thanks in advance.
If you want to set up single-node development cluster, use minishift as you have already tried.
If you want to deploy any other cluster, do the Advanced installation. It's good for single-node clusters as well as production-grade multi-node deployments.
I usually do not recommend users to do the Quick installation, unless you a very specific reason to require this method.

RDBMS setup itself with Application installation

I want to know is there any RDBMS which will install with our application executable file & we'll don't need to setup Database in every single machine, Like user just install the app and run RDBMS will also setup it self in installation.
There is more to that, than meets the eye: The first question to answer is, whether the RDBMS is used concurrently.
If not, a simple file-based engine will most likely be sufficient: I recomment SQlite, as it is as cross-platform as can be. There is no setup involved, you can simply package the sqlite.[so|dll|dylib] with your application
If yes, you have to think about which installation should be the "master" installation, with others being slaves: It might not be a good idea to use a salesman's laptop as the master, even if it happens this is the first machine available. Decicated servers exist for a reason. A lot of products have an installer, that asks for an installation mode such as Standalone/Server/Client. Chosing Server will mostly result in calling the installer for the RDBMS first.
My personal opinion is: If a non-tivial app is multitiered like in the second bullet, the tiers should be installed one-by-one by someone, who has an idea, what these tiers are and do. If not, you create an accident waiting to happen. But again - this is my personal opinion only.

How to log Windows 7 network traffic & disk usage with MySQL?

I'm running Windows 7 Pro and have a few servers running. One of the servers is a SSH / file server that was made via Cygwin. I already have logging setup internally using syslog-d; however, it does not provide adequate logging. When a user is connected to the server I can see him/her in the Windows 7 Resource Monitor and it shows his/her IP address as well as how much data is being sent/received. When a user is downloading a file from the file server I can also see in the resource monitor what file he/she is downloading by looking at the disk usage.
Herein lies the first question: How can I log users' IP address, the time they connect & disconnect, what files they download, and what their download speed was, to a database in MySQL?
In addition to the aforementioned server, I also use IIS to host a website, and would like to have some sort of networking logging.
If I could find a tool that would work for both of these servers that would be the best solution.
I did some searching and found a program called Snort that looks like it would work for the network side of things, but not for the disk usage. I'm not familiar with this program at all, but at first glance maybe it could accomplish part of what I want to do? Maybe there is an easier/better way?
I'm pretty new to MySQL and know very little about network and disk logging so any and all help and guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Advanced Web Statistics does a pretty good job of making sense of the IIS log files, and though it will give you more information than you need, it will certainly give you the information you want. It is open source, and my hosting provider uses it for the ASP.NET sites I have developed.
As far as logging the information to MySQL:
I am assuming that you already have, or know how to get the information and you simply want to log it to a MySQL DB.
1st, you will need to create the database.
2nd, you need the MySQL connector for your programming language of choice. The MySQL ADO.NET connector is excellent and easy to use. I am also assuming you know at least one programming language and how to connect it to a database. If not, I recommend C# with ADO.NET-- it is super easy and there are plenty of tutorials online.
3rd, write a program to send your information to the database, when you receive it.

Comet (Ajax Push) in Godaddy dedicated server?

I want to know if it's possible and I'm looking for tutorials to set it up.
APE website says that knowledge of JavaScript programming is sufficent to follow the tutorial however I haven't been able to puzzle even the first 2 lines of the tutorial.
I'm using Ubuntu. After downloading APE I have no idea what to do. I already set up SSH to access the server.
What should be my following steps or where can I find an easier to tutorial to use comet be it through APE or something else?
Assuming your GoDaddy server is running some flavor of Linux, I don't see any reason it would not be possible. I was just looking over the documentation and I am not clear on what part you are having trouble with. What Linux distribution are you using? Do you have SSH access?
If you have ssh access and a root account you should be able to just follow the instructions to get APE running on the default port.
If you are running a Debian dist (Ubuntu and others) it looks like you should download the source from Git and compile it. There are instructions for the compilation there. You can learn about what you need to do wth Git by search for "clone git".
If you can be more specific about what you are having trouble with, we can probably be more helpful. But ultimately you should be able to install this on any dedicated server without issue.
