I am following https://auth0.com/blog/secure-your-react-and-redux-app-with-jwt-authentication/ at the moment, and I pretty much did the same, yet I am still getting the following error:
Is http://localhost:3001/sessions/create down? If not, what may be the cause of the error?
Thank you in advance!
EDIT
I set up my Express to port 3000 as well, just like how it is shown in the tutorial and used the same API url.
Issue could be because you are not setting a base URL in the API calls.
For example, if you are using Auth0 as a service, then API URL in requests must be as below,
axios.post('https://your.auth0.url/sessions/create', data);
(Assuming that you are using axios)
I suppose the current configuration is as below,
axios.post('/sessions/create', data);
and it takes the relative URL and it will be from the app serving the rendering of base page, in your case that is localhost:3001
It is advised to keep the base url (http://auth0.your.url) as an environment variable and can be supplied while running the app.
If you are using webpack take a look at Webpack define plugin also.

I'm doing a web app based on original MEAN.js framework. When I want to request local json test file using $http.get() method in my AngularJS file, it returned my index html content.Is it a routing problem? I didnot change the original mean.js routing code(https://github.com/meanjs/mean), just added a $http.get() method in home.client.controller.js file. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
That is most likely happening, because you didn't define an endpoint for that particular GET request in your app.
Everytime you make a request to your server (for example a GET request to /my-request) nodejs/express are configured in MEAN.js so that your server will try to find the endpoint for that request, if it does not find any, that request will be handled by this particular code block (specified in /modules/core/server/routes/core.server.routes.js):
// Define application route
app.route('/*').get(core.renderIndex);
Which will basically render the index view.
I'm not sure if you're using a custom module or not, eitherway, if you want that request to be handled in a different way in MEAN.js, you can specify your endpoint in your custom module routes file (or in core.server.controller.js) like so:
// Define application route
app.route('/my-request').get(core.sendMyJSON);
Be careful, because this route must be placed before the one I mentioned earlier, otherwise your request will still be handled the same way and the index view will be rendered and served again.
Then you will have to create the controller that should be called to handle that request:
exports.sendMyJSON = function (req, res) {
// logic to serve the JSON file
};
This way you should be able to get it done with a few adjustments.
Side note:
I'm not entirely sure but I think if you place your JSON file in the public directory of your app you should be able to directly access it without the need for the extra logic.
I have this json feed.
I am unable to load this into Appgyver
I have set the following required settings:
- parameter app_name with the correct value
- added the reuired header X-DREAMFACTORY-APPLICATION-NAME
I always get the Oops, Unable to load resource's data model. error
Anyone who has a clue?
I am not very familiar with AppGyver, but I know it's been used with DreamFactory successfully by others. You have not provided enough information, but I will attempt to give you troubleshooting steps from the DreamFactory side.
First, are you definitely authenticating and passing a valid X-DreamFactory-Session-Token header? I can tell that you don't have guest access enabled (to make calls without authentication) because when I navigate to your link I receive a 401 with "There is no valid session for the current request."
Second, what is the call you're making from AppGyver? Is it a GET to simply list resources of a DB called vlaamse_vinyl, or what?
Finally, if you are passing X-DreamFactory-Application-Name in addition to the URI parameter ?app_name=vlaamse_vinyl this is redundant. Perhaps that is preventing your call from succeeding.
I am building a webapp using AngularJS on top of a MarkLogic 7 XML database. I am using the REST API provided by MarkLogic to access the database. The code I'm using in my controller is as follows.
app.controller("mainController", function($scope, $http){
var addr = 'http://localhost:8011/v1/search?q=test&options=newtest';
$http({method:'GET', url: addr})
.success(function(data){
alert('Success');
console.log(data);
});
});
Now, when I open my view, a 'bad request' error is logged in the console.
OPTIONS http://localhost:8011/v1/search?q=test&options=newtest 400 (Bad Request)
angular.min.js:99
OPTIONS http://localhost:8011/v1/search?q=test&options=newtest No 'Access-Control-Allow-
Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'null' is therefore not
allowed access. angular.min.js:99
XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://localhost:8011/v1/search?q=test&options=newtest. No
'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'null'
is therefore not allowed access. index.html:1
Are there any settings to be configured on the MarkLogic server to make the API accessible? Please help.
Thanks,
Krishna
Krishna, is your AngularJS code hosted by MarkLogic, or are you running it in node.js (via grunt, perhaps)? This looks like a cross-site scripting problem. Two solutions come to mind:
If you don't need a middle tier, MarkLogic can host the Angular code. Put it in the modules database of the app server on port 8011. Then the request is going to the same place the JS came from and the problem goes away.
If you want to keep a node layer, set up a proxy. Assuming you're using Grunt, you can see how I handled that in the Gruntfile.js of an app with the same stack.
Once you get past that error, you might consider moving the interaction with the MarkLogic REST API into a service. The Demo Cat application I linked to above has an early version of an MLRest AngularJS service; that might be a useful starting point.
I called attached code below in WinJS app and keep getting this error 405 Method Not Allowed. I have changed the method property to "POST" , still the same thing. Some of the guys saying it is to do with the permission so I am trying to set the credential in the uploader. This is an internal app so we assume this should carry the Windows Authentication. But at the moment, I could not find how. Can anybody help?
uploader.createUpload(endpoint, file)
.startAsync()
You haven't narrowed down the problem to the point where you should be worrying about how to express what you need with BackgroundTransfer APIs yet - you need to figure out what you need to express, first.
If you have access to good documentation or a knowledgeable owner of this internal service you're connecting to, your first step should be consulting that to figure out what exactly the HTTP request (and the associated credential headers) should look like.
If you don't have access to that, the second best starting point is to take an existing, working client of this service you're uploading to and use a networking capture software (Fiddler, for example) to take a look at what the request it's sending looks like.
Once you've figured out the specific HTTP method and server credentials you need to use, you can tell BackgroundTransfer to use them by setting the method and serverCredential properties of your uploader object before creating your uploads.
Hy,
I'm working on a jsFiddle with a openlayers example in it.
http://dev.openlayers.org/releases/OpenLayers-2.11/examples/snapping.html
At the moment it's not working because it's not getting a response for the http request to get data. How do I fix that?
The jsFiddle is here: http://jsfiddle.net/TcuxA/6/
Go to the line "// create three vector layers" in the script.
There are 3 requests for data. If you type the URLs in your browser you get the JSON, but my firebug gives 3 errors when I run the jsFiddle.
I tried fixing with jsFiddle echo ( http://doc.jsfiddle.net/use/echo.html ), but that didn't work. I don't know how to change the script to load the data otherwise.
Why can't I get the json by these URLs? What are good sollutions?
What you are experiencing is an exception being thrown by the XMLHttpRequest object, because you are using AJAX to call elements from different domain. This is better said, for example, in here:
"The XMLHttpRequest object is prevented from calling web services from outside its own domain. This is sensible given that if you called a script in one place and it, in turn, called a script on another server, it could leave an application open to all sorts of malicious scripts, hacks and exploits."
So the easiest way to do is to code it locally and call a local copy of the files (poly.json, line.json and point.json) that would reside on your local server. For testing if all displays on a map you could hard-code the files into your code. I am not sure how it could be achieved otherwise.
A good solution can be this : using github responses . You can store your example in github, along with the predefined XHR requests responses.
