Google compute machine HAXM install - google-compute-engine

I have a Google Virtual Server(Microsoft Windows Server 2012) and I would like to run AVD with X86 Processor Setting. I need to install HAXM but when I want to install it I get an error message.
HAXM Install Error Message:
Could anyone help me how can I install the HAXM on the Google virtual server?

Sorry, but nested virtualization (specifically, exposure of virtualized VT-x support, which is what HAXM is looking for) is not currently supported on Google Compute Engine. Unfortunately this is not mentioned anywhere in our documentation that I see, but it is in fact true.
A similar question was answered here: Does Google Cloud services support nested virtual machines?

MySQL “Connector/J 5.1.48” platform-independent on MacOS Mojave issues

How do I download MySQL “Connector/J 5.1.48” platform-independent on macOS Mojave? There is a project I’m working on and I need this specific connector to work on my computer because there’s a specific Android Studio related project I need it for. When I try downloading it, I get an error message. Just in case it’s not possible, are there any other database replacement options that work well with Android Studio that are simple to implement on macOS?
Link to Connector/J 5.1.48: https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/5.1.html
Thanks.
JAR files already are platform independent... They are not executable
I'm not sure how your error is specific to Android Studio, but mobile apps should not be directly querying a Mysql database, but rather reaching a web API that exposes database results over HTTP
And even if you did want to use mysql drivers in an Android app, you'd add those with Gradle, not JARs
That being said, MacOS isn't the issue either, and there's plenty of database replacements for Mysql

How can I update & commit with Assembla SVN on a Chromebook?

I'm running an ASUS C300 Chromebook (71.0.3578.127 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and I want to set it up like my Windows 7 Development PC. On Win 7 I use TortoiseSVN to connect to my SVN hosted on Assembla and I can update & commit from there.
Is it possible to do the same on Chromebook? Also, is it possible to do it with free / open source software?
I have seen some options around installing Ubuntu and setting things up this way - this is not an option for me.
[Edit] I have also seen ShiftEdit as an option but this is a paid app so not ideal, however, I did try the trial version of ShiftEdit and I was unable to find a way to connect to Assembla, it seemed that it only had Git integration.
It seems, so far, there is no software that runs on Chrome OS that functions like TortoiseSVN - hopefully someone may know of something?
I used a Chromebook several years ago and at that time I was unable to run terminal and therefore I was unable to run the svn client. I guess that your only option is Assembla's SVN web interface (I don't know whether it supports write operations).
Maybe, there is some addon or extension for Chrome that adds some cloud IDE-like capabilities with SVN client commands, but I don't remember seeing such a product.
I don't use a Chromebook but it seems that ShiftEdit - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/shiftedit/lcgmndephhjcabhhjfcmncnhbmgbkpij?hl=en-US seems to do as you wish.

Running chrome headless on linux without xorg

Is it possible to install and run chrome headless on a headless Linux box without installing the audio and xorg dependencies?
If not, then is there a special headless build of chrome/chromium which doesn't pull xorg and audio libs?
This troubleshooting doc on puppeteer should be of some help (https://github.com/GoogleChrome/puppeteer/blob/master/docs/troubleshooting.md), it oultlines all the package necessary for running Chrome on a linux machine (more specifically for web servers).
Depending on your end-goal, I wrote a service that provides access to headless Chrome at https://browserless.io. More or less treats Chrome in hosted fashion, so you don't have to try and get it running yourself, which is a time consuming process.
In any case, hope one of those helps!

Error trying to install a WP8.1 App in Windows Phone Mobile

Trying to install a WP8.1 App in a new Windows Phone Mobile 10 we are getting this error (We are using the "Windows Phone Application Deployment (8.1)" App):
Error - The provided package is already installed, and reinstallation
of the package was blocked. Check the AppXDeployment-Server event log
for details.
First, the app is not installed. We have verified twice.
Second, what is the AppXDeployment-Server and where I can find the log?
Thanks
The solution was as simple as update the Windows Phone OS to the latest version.
After that we can install WP8.1 Apps in Windows Phone Mobile.
First, the app is not installed. We have verified twice.
This error usually occurs when installing a package which is not bitwise identical to the package that is already installed. Therefore, if a package is rebuilt or resigned, it’s no longer bitwise identical to the previously installed package.
To fix it, you can increase your app’s version number, then rebuild and resign the package or remove the old package for every user on the system before installing the new one.
Besides, you mean the app is not installed before? That way you should use Windows Phone Application Deployment to install the package in default (C:) but not on the device SD card. If you want to install it on SD card, you should use Visual Studio to deploy your app.
Second, what is the AppXDeployment-Server and where I can find the log?
The AppXDeployment-Server provide more info to help you diagnose the cause of the error code.
You can follow steps below to access the event log:
• Run eventvwr.msc.
• Go to Event Viewer (Local) > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows.
• The first log to check is AppxPackagingOM > Microsoft-Windows-AppxPackaging/Operational.
• Deployment-related errors are recorded in AppXDeployment-Server > Microsoft-Windows-AppXDeploymentServer/Operational.
Also, another option is to use PowerShell, try following command:
Get-Appxlog|Out-GridView

How to install ejabberd community version on Windows XP?

I am a bit confused the link to use to install ejabberd on my windows XP box [http://www.ejabberd.im] ? What are the steps involved and dependencies there off?
=====UPDATE=====
I installed ejabberd windows version from link as mentioned in reply thread - but when I started the app it stated:
Starting ejabberd...
./ejabberdctl: e:\bin\erl.exe: can't execute: (14001) Error 14001
There is a problem starting Erlang.
If the error you see is 14001, you need to install:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package
You can download that installer from www.microsoft.com
You can also check the ejabberd Administrator Guide
But even after downloading the package http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=5638 and successfully installing I still get the same error?
Please let me know how to resolve the same?
You could install 2.1.11 using the installer provided by Process-One here. Windows installer for 2.1.13 is not there yet.
no additional dependencies are required as ejabberd installer includes a build of Erlang runtime.
But really I fail to see what's the problem with putting up a cheap box running some free OS (I'd personally recommend Debian) where ejabberd would be installable via the OS's package manager, and will be upgraded along with the rest of the OS when the next release comes out.
