In uipath there is a get exchange messages activity. I can connect and download messages, however I'm unsure of the syntax for getting to a shared mailbox. Has anyone done this before?
I got around it by building a powershell script to do it, then calling it from uipath...
Unfortunately, in Exchange it's not possible to get the messages from a shared mailbox with UiPath Exchange activities but it's possible with Outlook activities.

I'm synchronizing Office 365 mail folders via the Office 365 REST API by doing a GET on me/MailFolders/{folder_id}/messages. For two different accounts, I've recently been getting 500 responses to these GETs with the error code ErrorMessagePerFolderCountReceiveQuotaExceeded and error message "The number of received messages has exeeded the quota for the folder." (Typo theirs, not mine.)
I can't find any documentation on this error. What does it mean? What should I do to fix this situation?

From the error message, it seems it might be related to the "Maximum number of messages per mailbox folder" limit on Exchange Online. Do you know if the folder contains 1M+ messages?

I guess my other idea would be that you're getting too many messages in too short of a time period. Suggestion would be to use the endpoint GET https://outlook.office365.com/api/v2.0/me/MailFolders('{folder_id}')/messages with $deltaToken and $skipToken to skip previously synced messages.

When you do a sync to an Exchange folder via the Outlook REST API, you pass it a sync token. In response, the API returns a new sync token and a set of changes. And the client is expected to send the new token back with their next sync request.
With most systems that support sync, using a stale sync token (i.e. one that has been sent to the server once) in a subsequent request will generally just succeed with no problems. And Exchange appears to work like that... for the first 999,999 times you do it. On the 1,000,000th time (and each time thereafter), you get ErrorMessagePerFolderCountReceiveQuotaExceeded. This is (I think) because Exchange keeps track of each token that it's given out and updates the token in its store each time it's used for sync. If a client uses a stale token, Exchange views it as a new client and adds that stale token as a new entry in its list of active tokens. That active token list can have at most 1,000,000 entries. ErrorMessagePerFolderCountReceiveQuotaExceeded is the cryptic error indicating that Exchange's active token list has overflowed.
I'm currently trying to develop a Chrome extension which can receive notifications using GCM. When the extension is first installed, I register it using chrome.gcm.register(['my_sender_id'], function(registration_id) { console.log(registration_id); });.
I would like to send push messages to everyone who has the extension installed. However, the problem is that GCM requires you to specify the registration ID's of everyone you want to send the message to; you can't just send it to everyone who's connected to the sender ID.
While it would be possible to push the registration ID to a database when the extension is installed, and then consult this database each time I want to send a message, this solution seems sub-optimal (also from a security point of view, since the pushing of the registration ID would be done client-side).
However, Google introduced a solution for this a few years ago: topics. It's possible to simply register each device to a 'global' topic (for example) and when you then want to send a message, you only have to specify the 'global' topic as the receiver. However, I can't find how this registration process is done for Chrome extensions. I've looked everywhere, but it seems like Chrome's GCM module doesn't support this yet. Am I correct in this and if so, is there an alternative way to pull this off?

If you call chrome.instanceID.getToken and then use the InstanceID API from your server to subscribe to a topic, it seems to work, but then the chrome extension doesn't get messages when you push to that topic, so I'm not sure if Google just needs to enable something on their side to make it work. But this is the closest I could get to it in any case.

Thanks for the great feedback. There is no way at the moment to subscribe to a topic from a browser. We're aware that having such an API would simplify the development model. We'd love to add this to Firebase, but as usual can't make any promises or commitments.
I used Windows 10 email app to connect to my exchange server, i.e. I have instance of UserDataAccount for my exchange server already set up.
I want to write another app that will use this account to talk to Exchange, and I would like to use only WinRT API.
First I need to get Exchange info from UserDataAccount. if it's hosted in cloud, I think I will need URL, tenant ID and username. The problem is that UserDataAccount does not have this info. There is class DeviceAccountConfiguration that seems to have it all, but I cannot find a way to get instance of this class.
Once I can get info about Exchange connection, I can use Office356 REST to talk to Exchange. The reason I want to talk to Exchange directly is because I did not find WinRT API that can use UserDataAccount to retrieve Exchange specific info, for example full info from Exchange about Contact.
So I have UserDataAcccount, and from this data account I need to get credentials and info about Exchange API (EWS, or REST). After that it should be easy, see Adam's answer with link to office356 sample code.
I spent some time poking around WinRT API, but it's poorely documented, and it's hard to discover relationships between different objects, and some methods throw NotImplemented exceptions.
Is WintRT API ready to be used? It looks like a lot of things are disconnected and missing.

I have a general comprehension question about OAuth access token retrieval for a Google Chrome Extension.
I have a popup HTML window in the browser that uses Jquery to request data from the server (a LAMP stack on AWS). The data is presented by PHP scripts which access a MySQL database. All very basic stuff.
I now want to implement a push messaging system using Google Cloud Messaging to alert users of new content that they can check. However I don't really understand where I should request the access token and how to listen for the response. I figure it should be in the PHP scripts but all the Google documentation that I've read states the user has to be present in order to allow access to push messaging. That tells me I should put it in the JavaScript but I feel this is a bad idea because every user could potentially request an access token when I think I only need one every 3000 seconds or so. If my app was completely implemented in PHP I'm sure this would be possible and now I'm worried that splitting it up like this leaves push messaging out of the question. Am I missing a crucial detail or just out of luck?
If the data access you need isn't user-specific, then you're right, there's no good reason to get a separate token for each user. Check out https://developers.google.com/accounts/cookbook/roles/Apps which discusses some options.
We're opening an US office shortly and i've added the new domain (domainus.com) to our exchange 2007 environment as an "accepted domain" and added some addresses as SMTP addresses to a few members who can receive properly - yey :).
We want to send from these addresses too but I can't figure out how to make this work, I get the error:
"You are not allowed to send this message because you are trying to send on behalf of another sender without permission to do so. Please verify that you are sending on behalf of the correct sender, or ask your system administrator to help you get the required permission. "
I'm not well versed in exchange so i'm not sure what to search for to try and figure it out. I've tried:
Adding themselves to send to "Delivery options > send on behalf" and I edited the default email address policy for the organisation (which wasn't being applied before.... so I don't think it would make any difference).
Any suggestions welcomed.

I know it isn't much help, but I was having the same issue, and getting the same error. I ran across this page that lists 4 ways to do it. None of them are what you would expect, except for the application that you have to purchase.
I do think if you have a gmail account that you could send as the alternate email address, and all replies etc would come back to the exchange account.
On the user account, in Active Directory, under Security, under the SELF account, select the Manage Send As Permission option.
