I have a QListView with a Custom Display based on a simple contacts list. All the fields EXCEPT the email address field render just fine, and the items on the page otherwise look exactly as formatted. There is definitely data in the field, but this one simple text field isn't rendering as a mailto link in the QListView. The href code is correct, it works when tested in a simple html file, but not on the Sharepoint page.
Viewing source, all I see for the email code is literally mailto:<%EmailAddress%> where it should show mailto:myname#mydomain.com as it appears on the list. What's REALLY strange is that I tested the <%EmailAddress%> token on the custom display as just another field, no href code, but it doesn't show on screen that way either, which is even odder.
Here's the current code as an email link:
<%First_Name%> <%Last_Name%> Ext. <%Extension%><br>
<%Job_Title%><br><br>
Is there something funky about using an email field/code in Custom Displays? Using the generic show fields tab, it shows up uneventfully. Something else? Or can you not use "live" tags in the display at all? But then why didn't it show up as a text field? I was under the impression that you could use pretty much any simple html code in the custom displays. No?
I figgered it out. Turns out the field names are <%CaSe Sensitive%>. Who knew? Works like a champ now. Is that documented anywhere, btw? Just wondering.

Does anyone know how to reference a NS field in the standard HTML form?
I have a custom field on my SO that links to our external website. The field uses a formula to pull the NS SO internal ID to create the link so we can send it out to the customer. That field works perfect and I was able to get that link to display properly as an element on the standard PDF form layout that gets emailed to the customer as an attachment on the SO notification email.
Now, here is the issue, I don't know how to reference it on the "a href" html tag in the HTML code on the transaction HTML layout. I know the field name/backend ID, I just don't know how to reference it in the "a href" html tag, this is what I have so far:
Securely View, Edit, & Track the status of this order
(in the curly brackets is my field name and I removed the carrots so the exact code would show up in this text box)
Does anyone know how to get that field from the SO form to show up in the Transaction HTML Layout form?
Actually I figured it out. I needed to have the href set as <NLCUSTBODYPG_LINK_SO>.
I am facing a behavior that I really don't understand.
If you go on the webpage: https://www.edel-optics.fr/Lunettes-de-soleil.html#ful_iPageNumber=1 and inspect the code you will realize that it's the same html content as on https://www.edel-optics.fr/Lunettes-de-soleil.html#ful_iPageNumber=7
=> to test it, try to search "ERIKA - 710/T5" on both source codes and you will find it (but you should only find on the ful_iPageNumber=1).
Why is it behaving like this ?
Secondary question: how to I get the real content of https://www.edel-optics.fr/Lunettes-de-soleil.html#ful_iPageNumber=7 ?
Thank you for your help
John
Problem
You have explained that when you perform a search, you get the same results as with your pagination (page 1)
Issue
You are not getting the value your searching for placed into the URL
https://www.edel-optics.fr/Recherche.html?time=1519871844737#query=
the #query is = to nothing
You would be needing something like:
https://www.edel-optics.fr/Recherche.html?time=1519871844737#query=ERIKA%20-%20710/T5
Without seing your code its hard to say where the issue lays. it could well be that the search box is not inside the Form or it could be that the submit button is on another form to the search box, or maybe an issue with backend scripts not grabbing the get values as a result of case differences in the value name.
Without seing your script its hard to diagnose
Ok I found a solution to solve this strange problem, replace the # in the URL with a ? and you will have the actual html content (corresponding to the display)...
I'm making a form letter in SSRS 2012 that will be delivered by email. I had it working fine but now the powers that be have requested a much more dynamic aspect to it based on the individual recipient... Different paragraphs now need to be included/excluded based on the target.
With that, I pulled the body of the email out of SSRS and am now assembling it in SQL Server and passing it over to SSRS as a parameter (so that I don't wind up making a dozen SSRS reports to handle the need).
I have that part working too now, but hit a snag... There were a few bullet points as well as URL's that could look nicer. I'd like to force an indention before the bullet points and replace www.mysite.com with something prettier like "Click Here". On the SSRS side of the fence, I currently just have a single text box (and ideally would keep it that way) which contains an expression that references my "EmailBody" parameter.
So far, I have not found the right combination of words to send to Google to see if this is possible, so I figured I'd go straight to the pros here. I did try formatting the output in a similar manner to what an expression would look like ( ="This is the body of my email" ) and it just passed that straight on through to the final output.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Jason
In case it helps anyone else, I figured out the secret.
Change your text box in SSRS to expect HTML by right-clicking on the placeholder (<< EXP >>) inside the text box, selecting Placeholder Properties, and change the Markup Type to "HTML - Interpret HTML tags as styles".
After that, go back to the SQL Server side of the fence and change the text you are sending as a parameter to HTML with whatever styling properties you desire.
Sounds like you're on the right track with the HTML markup. I also wanted to suggest that you can use a data-driven subscription. Have the query generate the HTML you want. Then have that populate the body of the email. That way there's no need for any attachments. This has come in handy when I wanted to display a small table of data for viewing on a mobile device rather than having to open an Excel attachment.
In our JIRA instance, someone thought that because you could put html tags in description fields, that meant that you needed a full complement of tags to use them-- like, including <html> and, critically </html>
So, now we've got a custom field with a description containing a </html> tag, and as you might expect, the browser is not showing anything past that last tag, including any option to delete or edit the field.
Is there any way to use an API, etc to delete this field or change its description?
I'm on JIRA 4.1.2 (I know...)
Managed to solve the issue...
I used either the JIRA Advanced search, or right-click>>Inspect
element to get the ID of the field.
Then hovered over one of the "Configure" links that were showing to get the URL to the configure screen.
Then, I put the correct ID in the URL, and I was able to get back in and remove the offending tags.
That resolved the issue on the Custom Fields screen. Unfortunately, this technique had also been used on the "Field Configuration" screen, which is organized a bit differently.
The URLs to the "Edit" screens from the field configuration are formatted differently, with id= being the particular field configuration you're working with (don't change this one), and position= being the position in the list of the field you're working with (0 based index).
The easiest thing for me was to
Go to the field above the one that was messed up
Click on the Edit link, then
Increment the position parameter in the URL to give me the field I actually needed to change.
Deleted out the rogue HTML and everything was back to normal.

http://forecast.weather.gov/zipcity.php
How would I go about finding the name of that city/state/zip text input field?
I need to allow a user to enter the city, state or zip into my own text field and then submit that to the above website's form but I don't know how to specify that specific field.
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=City&state=ST(ate)
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Tucson&state=AZ
I recommend you download firebug for firefox - it makes analyzing web pages vastly easier. Until then, you'll just have to look through the page source by hand.
But yes, the name of the field is 'inputstring'
