I have really weird issue.
I'm sending a user really long link to user (> 30 chars) but unfortunetly it doesn't open properly on Windows Phone - e.g I have link www.test.com/test/{20 chars} and If I click on it, it does open in new tab but it only goes to www.test.com. If I hold on link and manually click to open in new tab it does open properly. What's strange is that it only happens on Windows Phone (android, ios, PC OSes work fine). Link is like this:

Might be worth to mention that this is GMAIL.
I couldn't find an answer but I'm pretty sure there's way to make it work.
May be it can be issue of escape characters. Try to convert url to escaped url.

HTML novice here stumbling around with modifying some email code that put together using some online generators and such. I am trying to send an email to customers with an embedded link that will automatically open the iOS app store "redeem" button for an app that I have gifted them.
The link to accomplish this for a given "gifted app" is as follows:

This link works fine when clicked from iMessage, apple Notes, etc on iPhone (I.e., opens the app store and just has a redeem button, thus allowing the person to directly install the app to their phone). It would also work just fine if you remove the itms-apps:// portion and the user defaults to Safari browser - the issue I'm trying to avoid is if they use a non-default browser (Chrome, etc) so that the link goes direct to app store.
Within the email, I'm using the following (the itms-apps:// link is technically called from a variable, but I've tried it with and without variable to no success). The email sends and the button this link is in just does nothing on iPhone, isn't tappable etc.

Using a URL encoder to make sure special/reserved characters aren't an issue (result looks like the following)

So here's the story. At my company, you can access previous pay statements online via a payroll website. When you go to look at a statement, it will open the statement in-browser via a pdf viewer. When working properly, it will usually ask if you want to blank out all the data or not (which... why would you want to? the point is to look at your statement). Now, this worked fine when checking it out in Adobe Reader; you'd just click "yes, show data" and everything displays fine, it can be printed, etc. But the company decided that instead of getting Acrobat for editing pdf files, that the better (cheaper) option is to get a cheap/free alternative called "Nuance" something or other. Two users installed this program, and now the browsers open pdfs in-browser with Nuance instead of Adobe Reader. This is a problem, because Nuance doesn't show the option of hiding or showing data like Reader did; rather, it just chooses the "no" option, which results in a blank template pdf coming up.
Now, this whole problem could be solved if we could just get the browsers to use Reader to open pdf files in-browser... obviously it's not a problem if you could download the pdf, but the site doesn't seem to allow you to download the pdf files. We've tried just about everything we could think of, short of uninstalling Nuance altogether, to get IE or Chrome to open pdf files with Reader, but even with a full IE reset, it uses Nuance to open pdfs inside the browser. Changing the default program for pdfs has yielded no results, IE still uses Nuance in-browser.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to change IE or Chrome to default to using Reader to show pdf files instead of Nuance?

just change the default programs or applications that opens pdf files, make it the adobe reader. You'll have to configure it in Windows, the Default Programs in Control Panel. You'll have to do this in each computer.
Every other website I visit, the inspector works as expected:
But in many of the sites I'm editing within apache server (using xampp) somehow they doesn't show the "filename.css:lineNumber" data
Also, every change I try to do in the inspector in thse sites, doesn't do anything to the code shown in the source tab.
I've tried refreshing, hard refreshing with cache, closing and opening the tab, closing and opening chrome again. The same problem occurs.
In other sites the inspector works well, but not in many of the localhost sites.
Has someone experienced this before? Is there a way to fix this?
If you are using a client-side CSS generator library such as Lea Verou's excellent -prefix-free or client-side Less, you will not see source information as it has all been processed and reinjected as style elements.
Client-side Less has a property [dumpLineNumbers] to include source line info as a comment in the generated source. (I'm not sure if this will display in Chrome's inspector - but I think it might)
The only "fix" I know of for -prefix-free is to temporarily remove it, obtain the source info for reference, then put it back in.
I have had the exact same problem (not using a css generator), and it appears to be a known bug with the current version of Chrome, the solution is to use the more up to date Beta version known as Chrome Canary - Here's the link :)

Try to check what the format of your CSS file is. I had the same trouble with the UNIX and Macintosh formats. For example, try to open you CSS file in Notepad++ and in the bottom right corner of the window you'll see your current format. If you see UNIX or Macintosh there, click it with the right button of your mouse and change to DOS/Windows. Then save your file and refresh your page in Chrome. I have an intranet here where I want to link to some local files on a network share.
The Path to the files has special characters (mutated vowel, e.g. "äöü").
My href-links look like the following:
href="file:///\\SERVER\share\path\für alle\example.pdf"
The link does work in IE, and also if I open it in Firefox as a new Tab. But it doesn't work if I simply click on it. Instead of the document, my local folder "My documents" opens.
Do I make something wrong? Or is this a Bug in Firefox? (using Firefox 32.0.1)

I have tried different computers now. Obviously, this error only appears on my own computer.
I have created a new firefox profile, this solved the problem. So my profile seems to be corrupted or maybe I have a problematic setting.
Two of our users report that one of our web pages (http://vdgsa.org/pgs/ads.html) is failing to render properly. Apparently the text of each classified ad is blank, and not taking up space on the screen. For most of our users the page renders correctly.
The common denominator appears to be that the users experiencing problems are using Google Chrome. However, when I look at this page on my computer using the same version of Chrome and the same OS (Windows 7) as one of those users, the page looks fine. Both the HTML and CSS validate. Since I can't duplicate the prob, I'm at a bit of a loss.
Any suggestions?
I use the Chrome extension "AdBlock" and don't see the text of the adds.
If I disable adblock and refresh the page, it works normaly (I see the text)
If you download one of the main filter used by AdBlock: the "Easy List", you will find many references to the words "ad_titem" / "ad_title", etc...
You may try to use other names for your CSS class names "ad_item" and "ad_title"
