"gdm -v" failed : failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager - suse

I am using SUSE Enterprise 11 SP3 and I want to check the version of gdm using:
localhost:~ # gdm --version
But I got an error:
** (gdm:5398): WARNING **: Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager
** (gdm:5398): WARNING **: Could not acquire name; bailing out
I am using root to execute this command.
When I try this command in CentOS6.6 or RedHat, it works well.
Does anyone knows why?

It seens a virtualbox configuration error about network access deniying. Try this:
Access or create file /etc/vbox/networks.conf (or where your vbox configuration file is located)

Getting error: operation failed: Failed to connect to remote libvirt error when I try doing kvm migration using virsh on debian

I am getting the error message
error: operation failed: Failed to connect to remote libvirt URI qemu+ssh://mytargethostname.mydomain.com/system: Cannot recv data: Host key verification failed.: Connection reset by peer
when I try to run the kvm migration command like this
virsh migrate --verbose --live --p2p --tunnelled hosttomigrate qemu+ssh://mytargethostname.mydomain.com/system
I can successfully view the running vms on the target host when I run
virsh -c qemu+ssh://mytargethostname.mydomain.com/system list --all
Is there some special configuration that I may need for kvm ?

How can i install Percona's pt-archiver for XAMPP?

I need to archive my MySQL-database every year and I found the Percona Toolkit. But I want to try it on XAMPP first and not on the actual server. I used the Shell from the XAMPP Control Panel.
First, I installed pt-archiver with the command:
wget percona.com/get/pt-archiver --no-check-certificate
The installation was successful. I tried my first dry run:
pt-archiver --source h=127.0.0.1,D=db_ilb,t=erstbegegnung --file 'C:\xampp\Archive\%Y-%m-%d-%D.%t' --where "1=1" --limit 1000 --commit-each --dry-run
and it threw an error:
install_driver(mysql) failed: Attempt to reload DBD/mysql.pm aborted.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 14) line 3.
at ./pt-archiver line 2499.
After trying to install DBD::mysql via CSPAN, another error was thrown:
Warning: No success on command[C:\xampp\perl\bin\perl.exe Makefile.PL]
CPAN: YAML::XS loaded ok (v0.39)
MICHIELB/DBD-mysql-4.041.tar.gz
C:\xampp\perl\bin\perl.exe Makefile.PL -- NOT OK
Running make test
Make had some problems, won't test
Running make install
Make had some problems, won't install
Stopping: 'install' failed for 'DBD::mysql'.
Could not read metadata file. Falling back to other methods to determine prerequisites
I don't know what to do next... If you have any other suggestions for archiving, let me know :)

Connection Timeout at "./rebar get-deps" / compiling EJabberd

I am trying to compile eJabberd on CentOS6. I am following the steps mentioned # [https://www.process-one.net/docs/ejabberd/guide_en.html#htoc12][1]
However, this aborts with connection-timeout error while executing "make".
Following is the error snipet from command prompt:

On trying the command "./rebar get-deps", I get the same connection timeout error.
My network connectivity is fine and it seems the github link is broken. Please Help!
You should try replacing the dependancy link to Github using https:// instead of git://
It should fix your issue.
We will check the project to make sure all our dependancies use https url scheme instead of ssh.

The problem is the way the password is being passed to the MySQL server.
You can set secure_auth: true in the database.yml file right under where the password is specified to use the appropriate format.
Alternatively, you could disable secure auth in the mysql daemon config and restart.
