I'm trying to figure out how to extract the results generated from this site:
mailtester.com when entering a full email. Take the email address laura.singer#pfizer.com for example. After entering this address and clicking submit, a HTML table thats highlighted green will show up. I want to get the text "Email address is valid" which is the 5th child of the 5th row of this table it seems. However, there are no ids or names, and there are two tables, so its a bit tricky.
This is what I have right now:
wait = WebDriverWait(self.browser, 300)
inputEmail=wait.until(EC.presence_of_element_located((By.NAME, "email")))
inputEmail.clear()
inputEmail.send_keys(email)
inputEmail.submit()
somethin = self.browser.find_element_by_xpath("//table")
somethin = somethin.text
print(somethin)
It prints "Email address" which is incorrect. Looks like there are two tables which do not have ids or names.
Try this CSS selector. It basically means find the TABLE tag that is a child (>) of an element with an ID (#) content
somethin = self.browser.find_element_by_css_selector("#content > table")

Within the Moodle (v. 3.5.7) Atto editor (using both Chrome and Firefox) I've been trying to assign an ID to a particular row class, "span9". My ultimate objective is to assign this a unique ID and reference this element via jquery so as to append another element within it.
The ISSUE is that once I add an ID (id="checklist01") and click save, the ID simply does not appear in the DOM, and seems to not exist. When I re-enter the atto editor however, voila, there it is just sitting there. So it's NOT being removed completely... just not expressed somehow?
I have 2 screenshots linked below showing (1) the editor view, with the element and assigned ID highlighted, and (2) a screenshot of the DOM once the changes have been saved, with that same area highlighted, without the assigned ID.
Screenshots of ID Missing from DOM
Bootstrap ver. 4
So far I've tried switching the placement of the id in the atto editor (class coming first vs second after ); tried to add a "span" in front of the id (for some reason, I was desperate); and really just searched all over for someone who has encountered something similar.
I'm not sure how much help the html will provide, but here it is:
<div class="row-fluid colored">
<div class="iconbox span3">
h4>Your Completion Status (%)</h4>
</div>
<div id="checklist01" class="span9">
</div>
</div>
I found the reason for the removal of id attributes.
id attributes are removed because "Checklist" activity used safe HTML function of Moodle. If you want to access id attributes of description HTML follow below steps.
Go to mod\checklist\locallib.php file.
Then search formatted_intro() function (which is around line number 880).
In that function they used Moodle's format_text() function to return description text.
In that function, they have used 3 parameters.
string $text The text to be formatted.
int $format Identifier of the text format to be used
object/array $options text formatting options
Replace
$opts = array('trusted' => $CFG->enabletrusttext);
to
$opts = array('trusted' => $CFG->enabletrusttext,'allowid'=>true);
Then save your file and check. By following the above steps you can use id attributes.
Here is a screenshot of a column in a website page.
It is located in that way in the website page :
As you can see, all the rows have a 'Completed' button you can pres and followed by a number of lines. These rows refer to exports. So the columnis not static and is constantly changing.
However, everytime i run the macro i want to access the first row of the column.
Here is a sample code of he HTML code of the first 'Completed' button in the screenshot above:
I have many that have the same class name. Look at the highlighted rows as an example in the picture below:
I really have no idea how to write a VBA code to always access the first 'Completed' bytton in this column.
PS: In the HTML code, in the tag "a", the onclick="....." is constantly changing. So i cannot use this as an argument to access the desired field and click on the desired button.
Please if anyone could help me figure out how to do this, i would really be happy.
Thank you :)
If you want to click the 'Completed' button in the first column, you can use the code below:
Set doc = objIE.Document
doc.getElementsByTagName("tr")(0).getElementsByTagName("td")(0).getElementsByTagName("a")(0).Click
The code get the first <tr> then get the first <td> then get <a> in it.
<tr> tags are rows, <td> tags are cells inside those rows. You did not provide enough code to show the entire table, but generally speaking to access the first row of a table, you would need to refer to the collection object and use the index number you want.
.getElementsByTagName("tr")(0)
This will refer to the first row of a table. Same with getting the first column in the first row of your table:
.getElementsByTagName("tr")(0).getElementsByTagName("td")(0)
Once you tracked down the particular cell, now you are wanting to click the link. You can use the same method as above.
.getElementsByTagName("tr")(0).getElementsByTagName("td")(0).getElementsByTagName("a")(0).Click
And a final note, the first row of a table could be a header, so you may actually want the 2nd row (1) instead.
Thanks for updating with more HTML code. I am going to slightly switch gears and use querySelector() to grab the main table.
doc.querySelector("#divPage > table.advancedSearch_table > tbody"). _
getElementsByTagName("tr")(3).getElementsByTagName("td")(3).Children(0).Click
See if this works for you.
I am trying to scrape data from this webpage: http://webfund6.financialexpress.net/clients/zurichcp/PortfolioPriceTable.aspx?SchemeID=33, and I specifically need data for fund number 26.
Have no problem getting data from the first page with this address (funds number 1-25), but for the hell of me can't scrape anything from the second page. Can someone help?
Thanks!
Here is the code I use: in Google Sheets:
=IMPORTXML("http://webfund6.financialexpress.net/clients/zurichcp/PortfolioPriceTable.aspx?SchemeID=33","/html/body/form[#id='MainForm']/table/tr/td/div[#id='main']/div[#id='tabResult']/div[#id='Prices']/table/thead/tr[26]/td[#class='Center'][1]")
You can do 2 things - one is to append the PgIndex=2 onto the end of your URL, and then you can also significantly simplify your xpath to this:
//*[#id='Prices']//tr[2]/td[2]
This specifically grabs the second row on the table (tr which means table-row), in order to bypass the header row, then grabs the second field which is the table-data cell.
=IMPORTXML("http://webfund6.financialexpress.net/clients/zurichcp/PortfolioPriceTable.aspx?SchemeID=33&PgIndex=2","//*[#id='Prices']//tr[2]/td[2]")
To get the second page, add &PgIndex=2 to your url. Then adjust the /table/thead/tr[26] to /table/thead/tr[2]. The result is:
=IMPORTXML("http://webfund6.financialexpress.net/clients/zurichcp/PortfolioPriceTable.aspx?SchemeID=33&PgIndex=2","/html/body/form[#id='MainForm']/table/tr/td/div[#id='main']/div[#id='tabResult']/div[#id='Prices']/table/thead/tr[2]/td[#class='Center'][1]")
I am working on a project but have run into a wall with Access's combo-boxes. I've attached an image so things (hopefully) make more sense when I describe my situation.
I have two combo-boxes on a form, the left one is called cmb_body_system, and the right one is called cmb_icd9code.
What I am trying to do is have the left box display three options, the three from the body_system_type table: infectious, circulatory, respiratory. From there, the second box will display the matching description in the ICDLight table column titled icd9Description.
I have gotten as far as getting the left box to display the bodyID's associated with each matching Icd9Description, but I can't get further than that. The VBA that I have on these is:
Private Sub cmb_body_system_AfterUpdate()
cmb_icd9code.RowSource = "SELECT ICD9Description FROM ICDLight WHERE ICDLight.bodyID = " & Me.cmb_body_system & ";"
End Sub
And as you can see, it's working, but I want to go that one step further and don't know what/how to search for this exactly. I mean, I don't even know how inaccurate/accurate the title is for that matter.
I think you need to rephrase your question. From your question title, I think this is what you need.
Select your cmb_body_system
Go to property sheet
Under Format tab:
Column Count = 2
Column Widths = 0cm; <- there is a semicolon
Under the Data Tab
Bound Column = 1
Row Source Type = Table/Query
Row Source = "SELECT * FROM BODY_SYSTEM_TYPES"
Now your combobox will show "bodysystem" as display text and Bodyid as value
Alright, so I'm pretty new to Spring, but I was asked to resolve a bug. So in our application, we have a page that queries a database based on an id. However, not all entries are unique to the id. The id and date pair, on the other hand, do define unique entries.
So this page takes in an id. If there is only a single entry related to this id, everything works fine. However, if there are multiple entries, the page displays a radio button selection of the various dates that pertain to that id. We use something like:
< form:radiobutton id="loadDate" path="loadDate" value="${date}" label="${date}" />
Later on the same page, we want to display the data for that option. As part of it, we display the date of that selection:
< form:input id="aiLoadDate" path="loadDate" maxlength="22" size="22" class="readonly" readonly="true"/>
The problem is that when this happens, the variable (or bean? I'm not quite sure about Spring yet..) loadDate (a string) ends up being the same date twice, seperated with a comma. I'm guessing the problem here is the "path="loadDate"" that is common to both lines.
Instead of appending the date to the already existing one like a csv, I'd like it to overwrite the current entry intead. Is there a way to do this?
Spring is not the direct cause of your problem. When the elements of an HTML form are submitted, each element will appear in the request as a name=value pair. If two or more elements in the form have the same name (not id, name attribute) then those elements appear in the request as name=value,value (with one value per element with a duplicated name).
Option 1: stop using an input as a display element. Just display the date in a span (or div or paragraph or what ever). If you want the look of an input box (border, etc.) use CSS to create a class that has the look you want and attach the class to the span (or div or paragraph, etc) in which you display the date.
Option2: continue using an input as a display element. Disabled input elements are not added to the request when the form is submitted. in the form:imput set disabled="true".
