Get my databases from an old and unable WampServer version - mysql

I currently installed a new WampServer version (2.5) wherease an old was previously installed (2.2).
unfortunally, my new WampServer2 doesn't work ; I get a message wich inform me that the "service" cannot be found (cf : line 325 of the config file). But I don't find a way to solve this problem.
So, I installed my 2.5 version in a new folder (c:/wamperserver2/ instead of c:/wamp/) and it works. The problem is I haven't my old SQL databases.
Does someone know how can I get them, from a file for example ?
Regards

After some searchs, I found a way.
I explain it there :
in the old wamperserver folder, copy the database folders from bin\mysql\mysqlX.X.X\data\
paste them in bin\mysql\mysqlX.X.X\data\ of the new wampserver folder
then, in the same folder, rename the file "ibdata1" in "ibdata1.bak"
Finally, get the one from the old WampServer folder
Maybe it will be necessary (but it didn't work for me) to cut/paste the users file (user.frm, user.MDY, user.MYU) from the data\mysql\ from the old wamperserver folder to the new wampserver folder. I think these files contain MySQL users, but this solution wasn't good for me (mysql 5.5.24 to mysql.5.6.17).

How do I modify the defaul graphdb.home directory?

I have installed GraphDB Free v9.3 in LinuxMint 19.3.
The workbench is running fine though I haven't created any repositories yet. This is because I have noticed that although the application is installed at /opt/graphdb-free, the data, conf and log files are in a hidden folder below my home folder: /home/ianpiper/.graphdb/conf (etc).
I would prefer to store these folders on a separate volume, mounted at /mnt/bigdata. In the documentation it suggests that I can set graphdb.home using the graphdb.properties file (though I don't seem to have such a file in my installation) or in the startup script. I think this script might be /opt/graphdb-free/app/bin/setvars.in.sh, and that I could use this to change
-Dgraphdb.home=""
to
-Dgraphdb.home="/mnt/bigdata"
Could a knowledgeable person advise as to whether my understanding is correct, and if so what the best way is to change the location of graphdb.home?
Thanks,
Ian.

windows could not start the MySQL. service on local computer. Error 2 : The system cannot find the file specified

I am not able to start the MySQL server on my Windows system. When I tried in services.msc to run, I got this error:
Starting it through the XAMPP control panel does not work either:
Can you help me to solve this?
Open windows services (Start->run ->Services.MSC)
Find service with name "Mysql Server" and check path, it should be something like that:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\Databases\MySQL51\bin\mysqld.exe" "--defaults-file=C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\Databases\MySQL\Data\my.ini" MySQL
Make sure that Mysql folder and executable file mentioned above exist by this path.
OR
Sometimes the file name of mysqld-nt.exe renamed to mysqld-nt.exe~ so rename it back to its original name and this may solve the problem.
Go to the path: C:Programs Files\MariaDB 10.2\data..
Lookout for my.ini file. Open the file and check the path for "datadir".
If that does not match to your installed directory then update it.
Your problem will be solved for sure.
I faced the same problem and solved it.
Just modify the registry editor value.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/MySQL/ImagePath

FireDac error 314 - but DLLs are in program directory

I am getting when trying to access a MySql database :
[FireDac][Phys][MySQL]-314. Cannot load vendor library [libmysql.dll
or libmysqlld.dll]
This did not previously happen with this (unchanged) code, however, I have upgraded to Windows 10 and had to reinstall Delphi XE8, so it is obviously a system configuration matter.
In order to try to solve the problem, I copied both of those files into c:\windows\sysytem32.
When that did not seem to work, I copied them into \win32\debug, which is where the generated .EXE resides.
I imagine that I am doing something rather stupid, but can't see what.
The proper solution is to place the driver file (eg., libmysql.dll) in your application's folder, or to place the installation location in your FDDrivers.ini file:
[MySQL]
Vendor=<folder>\libmysql.dll
(Recent versions of the documentation seem to use VendorLib instead of Vendor in the INI file.)
See the RAD Studio documentation topics Configuring Drivers (FireDAC) and Connect to MySQL Server (FireDAC) for more information.
Let me to answer in two point.
Developing, live database connection!
Hope you have on your data module an "TFDPhysMySQLDriverLink" component.
Click this component and browse your LibMySQL.DLL into VendorLib. Should be work. But only in design time.
Runtime. Hopefully your DM created firstly in your project.
In the DM's OnCreate event, you have to disconnect your library (I always ran my project with no database connection) and replace your "TFDPhysMySQLDriverLink"'s Vendorlib to LibMySQL.DLL (which is copied your which is copied where the generated .EXE resided)
Have a nice day!

How can I recover MediaWiki pages from an old MAMP install?

I have a three year old or so MAMP install (a copy of the application folder and all its contents, databases, etc.) with a three year old MediWiki (version 1.19) installed on it, several pages, and a few images. I would like to know how I can access those pages (or at least the content on them) and import them or copy them over to a fresh install I made today with the latest versions of MAMP and MediaWiki.
I already tried copying the database folder (MAMP/db/mysql/my_database; contains .frm files) from the old install to the same location in the new install but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. I even looked at the contents of the tables with phpMyAdmin but I didn't find any of the old content. Where do I go from here?
I installed MAMP on my MacBook Pro running OSX Yosemite. I'm hosting locally (e.g. using localhost). I am able to install a fresh MediaWiki on my localhost MAMP server and it works fine (there's just no content).
UPDATE: After seeing this I changed $wgMainCacheType = CACHE_ACCEL to $wgMainCacheType = CACHE_ANYTHING in the MediaWiki local settings file and now I get an error page that looks like this:
Do I need to somehow upgrade my databases? They are old after all. How should I go about doing this?
Shutdown mysql
Just copying the MAMP/db/mysql/my_database is not enough
Copy the contents of your db folder and below to the new
MAMP db folder
Note i assume your new MAMP is pretty virgin
Poached it from here :
http://joejoomla.com/sound-off/157-how-to-upgrade-mamp.html
Start new mysql
Will incl necessary config files
It is not as if you should have expected MAMP to recurse directories
It needs config files from old and you don't have them yet
I have never done it on MAMP
Edit:
Concerning warning that resulted
Make sure that XCache is installed with the new version of PHP. The most likely cause is the new version of PHP simply doesn't have xcache installed. You can do this by creating a php file with just the code
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
and then viewing it in a web browser.
Setting $wgMainCacheType = CACHE_NONE; will disable all caching, which would prevent the error, but make things slow.
From: http://m.mediawiki.org/wiki/Thread:Project:Support_desk/%22CACHE_ACCEL_requested_but_no_suitable_object_cache_is_present.%22
Advice : for this kind of software, use a Virtual Machine, it will save your time : my own mediawiki is running for 8 years under debian, hosted on a several different Apple machines.
But for now, if you still have the former stack running :
0 . (always) save your database content + files
for the database :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnOE0KWHGkY
for the files :
tar cfvz my-old-mediawiki.tar.gz path-to-mediawiki-directory
This will allow you to rollback if something goes wrong
Export your content and history
go to the special page : "Export pages", list your pages.
if needed, use the special page : "List all pages".
this will produce an xml file.
Save your images somewhere on your file system
use the special page : "List all files".
you now have exported your pages and files
3) Switch stack
check that the new virgin mediawiki is working well
import your pages
go to the special page : "import pages", upload the xml file produced in step 1
you now have a similar wiki, minus the files
import your images :
after the step 4, each file page has been created without its content.
you can upload manually each image exported at step 2) if you have only some of them,
if that is too much files (>30), you can use this procedure : https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:ImportImages.php
keep in mind also to reinstall any extensions installed previously.

Is it OK to move an old MySQL data folder to a new MySQL install's folder?

I've installed MySQL on my Mac running lion using their DMG installer. This has created 2 folders, mysql-5.5.15-osx10.6-x86_64 and mysql-5.5.9-osx10.6-x86_64 with a symlink from /usr/local/mysql/ leading to the newer one. My databases are still in the old folder, in the data folder.
Is it OK to just delete the new data folder, then move the old data folder into the newly installed folder (/usr/local/mysql-5.5.15-osx10.6-x86_64) using this:
sudo mv /usr/local/mysql-5.5.9-osx10.6-x86_64/data /usr/local/mysql-5.5.15-osx10.6-x86_64/data
Are there any gotchas I need to worry about? Is it smarter to just change this in the configuration file?
You should look at your my.cnf file to see which folder it is pointing to as the datadir. If you delete the folder it's pointing to, it won't know where to find your data. You can change this value to point to where ever you want your data stored.
