MySQL installer console is executed in Commercial mode - mysql

I have to install MySQL Server Community Edition version 5.6.x with silent installation. I planned to use mysql-installer-community-5.6.26.0.msi with msiexec /i /quiet command and run MySQLInstallerConsole.exe to install and configure the server silently.
I found a problem about MySQL installer while installing, it's always running in Commercial mode after installation. I tried to reinstall it again in many times via the same procedure but the results are not different.
How can I force the Installer to run in Community mode?

It runs in commercial mode if the "MySQL Installer - Community" application has never been launched.
Running your command with "community" prefacing "install" should work.
MySQLInstallerConsole.exe community install server;5.6.24;x86:*:port=3306;rootpasswd=PASSWORD;servicename=MySQL -silent

Install Dreamfactory on Xampp

I have been trying to install Dreamfactory on Xampp but can't find a single article on how to do so.
Purpose: To generate REST API in php with mysql.
What I have tried:
Initially I installed windows version of
Dreamfactory from official site. It was installed successfully but it don't allow access to MYSQL database in free version. Paid version is out of my budget, so I tried with Xampp. I downloaded open-source version from
Github. After extracting it, executed php artisan serve in xampp command shell as mentioned on Dreamfactory Wikipedia Installation guide. This resulted in following error:
Warning: require(D:\xampp\htdocs\sandbox\dreamfactory\public/../vendor/autoload.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\xampp\htdocs\sandbox\dreamfactory\public\index.php on line 24
Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'D:\xampp\htdocs\sandbox\dreamfactory\public/../vendor/autoload.php' (include_path='D:\xampp\php\PEAR') in D:\xampp\htdocs\sandbox\dreamfactory\public\index.php on line 24
As mentioned in Git documentation, they have given installation procedures for Ubuntu and Debian. Further more, they have mentioned about Bitnami official installation software, but non for XAMPP or stuff like that.
Question:
Is there any way we can install Dreamfactory on XAMPP? If yes, how so!
I'd venture it's going to be fairly difficult task to run DreamFactory on XAMPP because DreamFactory requires quite a few dependencies which are not installed on XAMPP by default.
Your best bet would be to run the Bitnami for DreamFactory environment, or alternatively use Docker. Both can be downloaded from the DreamFactory website downloads page. Alternatively, if you'd like to run DreamFactory in a VM, the OSS download README points to automated installers for Debian and Ubuntu. Additional installers for CentOS and Fedora are found here, they work great however we just haven't moved them into the official distribution yet.

download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. it worked for me
I too had the same issue. What i did was,
1- uninstall the msi community installer.
2- Install visual c++ 2019 Redistributer package (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads) ([])
3- Now install MySql Workbench from (https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/)
NOTE: Download the Windows (x86, 64-bit), MSI Installer 8.0.20 35.6M
Download.
4- Now install the msi community installer that you've uninstalled in step 1
(Link:https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/installer/8.0.html)
NOTE: Windows (x86, 32-bit), MSI Installer 8.0.20 420.6M
Download [For both 64 & 32 bit ] - (mysql-installer-community-8.0.20.0.msi)
Now the workbench will be added. Add the server from the installer and now we are good to go...
Thanks for the opportunity and knowledge
This error may be resolved by installing appropriate visual C++ version. for 5.7 its VC++ 2013 and for 8.0 its VC++ 2015.
After VC++ install rerun the installation and reinstall just server seperate. Configure it.
Then install any other tools like client etc,
(server installs with command line (Which was enough for my needs)
Steps:
Install MySQL Server from "MySQL Installer - Community" (already installed in your system.
While installing you would be asked to setup a server, so, just leave everything as it is and just put up a password and click next.
No after installation again you will see "MySQL Installer - Community". Then click "reconfigure" right in front of (see image in link below).
Then you will see the server in options. Just click it and enter password. (NOTE: let the username be "root", don't change it).
After doing all this MySQL will be installed.

Install mysql driver everything I turn back on my computer

Every time when I turn back on my computer (Not when my computer is sleeping, but after I did a soft shutdown) I need to install the MySQL driver using npm.
I install the MySQL driver using the following code
npm install -g mysql
Also, what is -g, I use because if I were just to use npm install mysql, an error would show up, and then I found that I could enter -g, and after I did it does install mysql and I can use it. This might the problem to why I have to install the mysql driver every time I turn on my computer. If it is, can somebody teach me how to install the mysql driver without any errors.

Install Navicat on Linux Ubuntu 12.04

How do I install Navicat on Ubuntu Desktop 12.04?
I have just configured a new Ubuntu 12.04. Because I'm not so familiar with the command line, I prefer to use Ubuntu Desktop so that I can have a GUI. Now I need to install a front-end to connect with MySQL.
I prefer to use Navicat in a MAC environment, so I was hoping to install Navicat on the Ubuntu machine. I downloaded a Linux copy of Navicat for MySQL from here:
http://www.navicat.com/download/navicat-for-mysql
The problem I am having is that I don't know how to install the program after it has been downloaded. There is a navicat.exe file in the navicat folder, but that seems to be for a DOS/Windows environment.
I just can't figure out how to install Navicat onto Ubuntu Desktop 12.04. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
You need to download Linux version of Navicat
And per online manual
Installation for Download Version
Open or Save the gzip file.
Extract the file into anywhere you wish.
Open the unziped folder.
Double-click start_navicat to start your
Navicat. Please note that it would take a while for starting-up.
A Registration screen will then be popup, key in the Registration Key
(16 digit) and click Activate to online activate the key.
UPDATE:
if you're on 64-bit box install all 32bit libraries
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
install wine runtime environment
sudo apt-get install wine
