How to export CSV from Business Object report? - business-objects

I understand that from Business Objects client I have an option to export to "CSV (data only)", but my understanding is that, such an export will not care about the report but just dump the raw universe data.
Isn't there any single way to be able to export the report "view" to CSV ?

It depends on the version of BusinessObjects you're working on.
Originally, the CSV export only looked at the Web Intelligence (I assume you're referring to that particular client) microcube, meaning the raw data retrieved from the data provider(s), and disregards any formatting, filters, aggregations, … you may have specified on your report.
GUI
However, you know have the option to export a report (so not the whole document) as a CSV Archive, which results in a Zip file containing a CSV for the active report at the time of export.
I'm referring to BI 4.1 SP05, previous versions may have this option as I'm not sure when it was introduced.
API
Using the RESTful API that is available in BI4, you can also export a report to CSV. In this case, the actual CSV file will be returned instead of an archive.
Remember that in order to use the RESTful API, you need to have a WACS server in your BusinessObjects environment, running the RESTful API service. You cannot deploy the REST API on an external Java application server.
For more information, have a look at the section Exporting a Report in Listing Mode (SDK information for BI 4.1 SP05).
Remarks
A report is a tab within a document; documents however are often (incorrectly) referred to as reports.

Create SSRS Subscription to XLTX (Excel Template)

I am trying to get the subscription for SSRS to send the CSV data to an existing Excel template so that the data is formatted to our excel reports and all the conditional formatting in them every morning but it's just creating a new file. How do I send the data to a specific template file?
While SSRS doesn't have built-in functionality for exporting directly to an Excel template, I have a suggestion for a workaround. Use SSRS to export the data in CSV or Excel format. Then, in the Excel template file, go to the Data menu and select Get Data > From File. This lets you use Excel's built-in Power Query functionality to reference the exported file as a data source.
One of the benefits of this approach is that to get fresh data all you need to do is overwrite the data file and then click "Refresh All" in your Excel file. You can also take advantage of the transformation functions that are available in Power Query to avoid repetitive cleanup tasks if needed.

onenote 2007 notebooks batch convert to onenote 2010/2013/2016

My customers have roughly 600gb (all together) worth of Onenote 2007 notebooks.
Onenote 2016 doesn't allow editting of onenote2007 format notebooks. It requires conversion.
MS doesn't provide a batch conversion utility.
MS does provide a notebook-by-notebook conversion via their UI which is clunky.
Does anyone know if I could use their Publish API to convert one notebook at a time?
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj680120.aspx#ON14DevRef_Application_Functional (see Publish Method)
I gave it a go.
You can!
One can use the Publish API method from the Application2 onenote API COM object by opening a 2007 notebook and specifying the export format as PublishFormat.pfOneNote (to export as 2010+ format).
There are some limitations:
You can only convert a section. So your code will have to open the 2007 notebooks, find the sections, and convert one at a time.
Sections that have no pages will result in an error code being thrown. So do check that there are pages in the section before attempting conversion.
So, given the limitations, my conversion app will have to:
Loop through the notebooks in a big folder.
Open each notebook, iterate through each section, and convert each non-empty section into a new notebook folder.
Open the new notebook folder and create into it any missing sections.
Order the sections in the new notebook.
Save and close both notebooks.
Repeat.
Here's a partial implementation:

Output/export information from configmgr 2012 ssrs report

I understand it is possible to export the report data into multiple file types using the export button. however i'm wanting to access the information without having to manually export. So my question is, is it possible using a batch file or powershell to read a text box on the report and output it say into a notepad file or spreadsheet. or if not maybe just a way to export all of the data on the report without having to manually do it? Screenshot attached for an example.
One option is to create a subscription for the report and either have an attachment emailed to you or have it saved to a network location. In either case, there are several export options (csv, excel, xml, etc.). If you're only wanting partial data from the report, I'd recommend creating a sql query or just create a new report that gets you exactly what you need.

Birt report Rest api Data source

We are using Birt report viewer to create reporting pages.
We use jdbc data source to connect with a Oracle database.
But is it possible to use a rest api (json format) as data source for the reports?
Does someone has experience with this?
BIRT has no build in JSON data source. However there are some community JSON data source plugins, but all of them I have seen are very low level and not comfortable to use, so I do not recommand any of them here.
You could create a "scripted data source" where you connect to your URL and parse the result by yourself but this is also not very comfortable. Someone tried it here so you have a starting point.
If you are in charge of the infrastructure providing the JSON output it would be easier to add an export to XML and use the BIRT build in XML data source.

Is there any way to view exported PBM results?

I'm doing some project work with policy based management in SQL Server and noticed that after I evaluate a policy, I have the option to export the results. Is there any way to import those results into the same viewer? I know that the format that gets saved is XML (which, in theory, I could shred), but I really like the way that the default viewer breaks down complex policies visually and shows what exactly made a given policy fail. Is there any way to import the saved results back into that viewer?
Unfortunately, there is no native built-in SQL Server viewer for exported xml policy results. Even you can import xml exported policies, these two are not compatible
Perhaps you can try some 3rd party xml viewers, like MindFusion XMLViewer is
