XAMPP MySQL Database won't run - mysql

So I looked around and saw someone with the same problem as me and the solution was to use Terminal and kill some processes but I still get the same error. Why is that?
I don't know if my question is clear or not. Basically I need another alternative solution to fix this problem.

If the log shows an "XAMPPErrorDomain error 1" error, then its a permission problem. To solve this on OS X, try this:
sudo chmod 600 /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/etc/my.cnf

Issues starting MySQL server Mac

There are red dots, rather than green dots, next to "Active Instance" in the preference pane. Image here. When I click "Start MySQL Server" the lights flash green very briefly before turning red again. In other install tutorials (e.g. this), this doesn't happen.
However, when I try to use command line to start the server, with sudo launchctl load -F /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.oracle.oss.mysql.mysqld.plist I get the line /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.oracle.oss.mysql.mysqld.plist: service already loaded Load failed: 37: Operation already in progress. So it seems like some parts are already loaded.
When I try to launch MySQL (with mysql -u root -p), I get the error:
dyld: Symbol not found: __ZTTNSt3__118basic_stringstreamIcNS_11char_traitsIcEENS_9allocatorIcEEEE Referenced from: /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql (which was built for Mac OS X 12.0) Expected in: /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib in /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql Abort trap: 6
I get the same error when I try to do mysql --version.
Previously, I was getting the error -bash: mysql: command not found, but then I followed the suggestion here and added the path export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/mysql/bin. (Note that I still get the -bash: mysql.server: command not found when I try mysql.server start, so I don't know if the new path export fixed the problem altogether.) I re-installed MySQL from the DMG but still getting this error.
Additional information that may be relevant:
-I am on Mac OS X 11.6.5.
-I have uninstalled/re-installed MySQL several times
-I copied my.cnf and put it in the "Configuration File" spot in preferences, with the file path: /private/etc/my.cnf. This is also a part where it's possible I went wrong, since I don't exactly know what I'm doing; I just tried to follow directions from here, here and used the actual code from here. I also tried putting the my.cnf file in /usr/local/mysql, as some other sources seem to suggest. This did not work either.
Solved: what I needed to do was uninstall MySQL and instead download an archived version of it--8.0.24 instead of the latest, 8.0.32, because it hadn't been compatible with my Mac version.

apt-get: command not found in mysql docker CLI

as a first... yes...yes I know there are 1000 questions and solutions to this. But unfortunately none of them helps me.
Let's get to the problem:
I have a Docker container running on which MySQL is configured. Now I would like to change the bind address from 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0. Unfortunately I can't open my.cnf because I don't have nano, vim installed. With apk, yum, vim, apt-get and so on I get that:
apt-get: command not found
apk: command not found
...
Could someone of you maybe help me out with my little problem?
best thanks and greetings
The default for MySQL docker image has been changed to Oracle based Linux distribution. In this distribution, the default package manager is yum. If for whatever reason you still want to use apt, pull Debian image explicitly. Something like mysql:8-debian.
See this issue for more detail.
You could do a docker cp to copy the file out of the container, edit it, and then docker cp it back in again. This may be fine if you need to do this for troubleshooting, but you probably want to look at fixing this in your deployment process. You should be able to destroy and re-create the docker container without having to manually fix configurations. This should be handled in your Dockerfile, or perhaps copying the correct configuration file in in your docker compose file.

FiwareLab Cygnus always get error to install

According to this manual, I've try to install Cygnus on my Centos instance of FiwareLab but always I get the following error "Permission denied".
I have used the default user "centos" but I don't get any result.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks a lot!!
Here's a supplementary screen shot:
The error you were facing was because the user has no permission to perform that operation on the specified directory.
The solution, in this case, is use sudo:
sudo cat > /etc/yum.repos.d/fiware.repo <<EOL (continue the lines)
I hope it had helped you.

Installing mysql through terminal

I am having some issues getting sql to work when trying to set my rails project. I have the latest version of both ruby and rails, the issue I believe lies within my terminal PATH. When typing gem install mysql, I get the following error:
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Errno::EACCES) Permission denied #
rb_sysopen -
/Users/myName/.rbenv/versions/2.3.1/lib/ruby/gems/2.3.0/gems/mysql-2.9.1/COPYING.
And when echoing my PATH I get the following description:
/Users/myName/.rbenv/shims:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin
This is a messed up path, and yes I have specified the PATH I want in the .bash_profile. My desired path looks like this:
export PATH="/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:$PATH" It just doesn't seem to work. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong? Running Sierra on a Macbook Pro 2015.
Thanks in advance for the help!
That error doesn't look like anything to do with your $PATH, which looks OK. It seems that you're trying to write to /Users/myName/.rbenv/versions/2.3.1/lib/ruby/gems/2.3.0/gems/mysql-2.9.1/COPYING but don't have permission. Maybe you installed something as root, and now root owns the gem files.
My guess is you need to fix the ownership of your .rbenv directory.
Try sudo chown -R myName /Users/myName/.rbenv, or if you want to be more rigorous, ls -l /Users/myName/.rbenv and see what the permissions look like before fixing whichever need it.
Managed to solve the issue with the help of this thread: brew install mysql on mac os. And with using my brain a bit more and installing the lated command tools... Hope this can help someone else who may have forgotten Xcodes part in it all.

PhpStorm crashes on startup

I installed PhpStorm on my machine (Windows XP) at work. At first it was fine and I used it for a day or so. After the installation of (likely) an incompatible plugin, the IDE freezes on startup.
I already tried reinstalling and updating Java. I even cleared the registry of any JetBrains and PhpStorm entries and installed it again.
I've searched the JetBrains forums, but it seems the problem I have is not a common one.
Maybe one of you had the same issue?
Any hints would be much appreciated.
Try to delete application plug-ins/caches. If it doesn't help, also delete settings. See the FAQ for the directories locations on your system.
Most likely idea.log contains the exceptions from the plug-in which causes this problem. I'd recommend sending this log to the plug-in vendor.
I had a similar issue and followed #CrazyCoder's instructions (thank you!), but the error turned out to be with related to indexing.
I reopened the IDE, and hurried to File > Invalidate Caches / Restart ...
Had a different issue (Ubuntu 20.x)
My use case :
I launched phpstorm and hit "cancel" while it was automatically reloading my last project (which closed PS immediately)
Then, trying to launch it just did show the splash screen for some seconds... and nothing. (tried it several times).
It turned out the process were still somewhere, while no GUI was visible.
ps aux | grep phpstorm had several (many) results.
All those zombie processes moaning "JetBraiiiiiiins" was a quite terrifying sight to me
Solution ? Kill'em all !
pkill -f phpstorm
I met similar issue while starting my PhpStorm 7.
Then I followed CrazyCoder's instructions to delete a new-installed plug-in at ~/Library/Application Support/WebIde70 (using Mac) and it finally works...
C:\Users\username.PhpStorm2016.1\system\LocalHistory
On Linux, when running pstorm from the terminal, it may complain about:
/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21' not found (required by /home/user/.local/share/JetBrains/Toolbox/apps/PhpStorm/ch-0/201.7846.90/jbr/lib/libjfxmedia.so)
Which can be fixed by adding this into ~/.bashrc:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib64:/usr/lib64
