Text input typing is really slow when a big table is present - html

I have a page with a pretty big table. Any text input on the same page responds really slowly to typing.
Anybody have any idea what would be the exact cause for this?
Occurs in Chrome (41~), but not in IE 10 or Firefox (30~).
Reducing the number of rows (to 20, for instance) makes the problem disappear.
Chrome's timeline shows ~500ms gaps between keypress/keydown events:
Could the long ng-class, ng-click, and other attributes be hogging Chrome's internal dom event handling?
Testable in this plunker.
(I've got angular all over the place in the original code, but the plunker is stripped of it.)
Thanks!

Html input of type "file" freeze the browser sometimes

i'm struggling with the classic HTML input of type file. I was using it on my angular application and i had freeze sometimes, the whole browser became unresponsive, and the only thing that works is the scroll.
You can't click any buttons, select any text or even change tab on the browser for about 5 seconds. I tried a lot of different file type and sizes and it doesn't change any of this, it even freeze sometimes when i don't select any file in the explorer and i click the close button directly.
So I thought it was my implementation that was bad and i went to the Mozilla developper website where you have an example and I have exactly the same behaviour. I also tried to take only the HTML from the Mozilla website and put it alone on a .html file and again, same behaviour.
This does not occur 100% of the time, but I would argue that on my end it does it about 60/70 % of the times.
I tried it on chrome and Firefox (both up to date), on multiple computer (all running Windows though) and i have the same behaviour on all of them.
I don't have any error or anyting in the consoles.
I don't know what to do with this, i'm pretty sure it can't be the file's input on the whole web that are bugged, but i tried a lot of various things with always the same results. Should i report it somewhere? ( if so, where? ) Or what would you suggest to do to investigate this further?
I couldn't find anyone discussing this issue on the internet apart for this thread that had no solution, they also say in this thread that the bug is not reproducible in Edge, but i just tried and it does the same thing.
Thanks for reading me and for any help about this.
Chrome freezes for few seconds when after any use of file field.
It was because I had a shortcut in "Quick Access" menu in windows explorer. This shortcut has been linked with a folder shared by network. I've removed this shortcut and everything is good now.
Same here, I have a mapped network drive that is not responding, this make a 5 seconds delay. After unmapping the drive, no more delay. The delay is the same in firefox or chrome.
Same here, if you want to remove it, on Windows 10, click on the icon Quick access (blue star), then right click on the dead link appearing in the "Frequent folders" panel on the right panel and choose "Unpin/Remove from Quick access". There should be no error message.

Is there a maximum number of clicktag variables allowed in a banner ad?

So, this is pretty silly. I'm working on a banner ad that utilizes the clicktag. It's a surprisingly fancy one that uses pointroll, and when you hover over the 300x250 banner ad, it pulls up a larger one overtop of it that is bigger and much more interactive. In total, the larger banner has 29 clicktags, all using the variables "clickTag1" to "clickTag29".
The banners are all done, everything fires correctly (according to my trace statements). However, I'm in the middle of QA, testing all of the clicktags using this validator: https://flashval-temp.appspot.com/validator/ , when suddenly, it stops working after clickTag20. I thought it may have been the validator at first, so I tried other validators. No luck. I went back into my code (everything is a duplicate of one template, so the only code changes made were the changes to the string), and made sure to test it again. They're firing off just fine according to my trace statements.
Finally, and this doesn't seem to make sense to me, but I switched the variables clickTag20 and clickTag21. The button that fired off clickTag20 worked, so I assigned it clickTag21. The button that was assigned clickTag21 was the first to stop working, so I assigned it clickTag20. When I ran that through the validator, the button that was assigned to clickTag20, regardless of which button it was, worked! The one that was assigned clickTag21 never did, also regardless of which button it was fired off from.
The variable is a string of a paramObj. How does the content of that string matter? I would have assumed it was compile order, but even in that case, clickTag21 should have fired and not clickTag20. What is going on here? Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you have a workaround? Please and thank you!!
Here is the thing... when you set a clicktag you're waiting for a flashvar. A parameter sent from the HTML to your SWF file. (more: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/pass-variables-swfs-flashvars.html)
Usually you'd test, if this parameter doesn't exists, the banner should do nothing, otherwise, open the link.
Turns out, and this is a guess, that these validators don't know how many clicktags you have in your flash file - or how many parameters you're waiting for - , so they pass up to 20 variables to your flash file, which is more than reasonable.
The bottom line is: if your events are working, you should be fine. Pointroll has a QA team, if something comes up, they will let you know, but as far as I can see from here, you should be fine.
Good luck

Chrome: waiting for www.site.com, how to know which resource is delaying the page load?

When a site gets stuck in chrome with the 'loading www.site.com' status, Is there anyway to know which of the elements on the DOM is delaying the load? for example, it can be an external js file or image that is taking long time to load. I tried using the network tab in the DeveloperTools, but it only shows the elements already loaded and the time they took. I couldn't find a way to see which element is stuck.
I found a way that I'm not sure it works in all cases, but it did for me. I used the Timeline tab (now shown in the Performance tab), it's one of the tabs in Chrome Dev Tools.
Open Chrome Developer tools (F12 or CMD + Alt + I in Mac) and click the Performance tab
Make sure you drag the grey timeline bar all the way to the right, you want to see the most recent section of events so you can find what's getting stuck:
Check just down below the records sidebar. If you don't see this like in the capture below, try toggling the icons, there are different view modes. Now, going all the way down I found these. It doesn't look like that's going well. Obviously some kind of infinite loop in some random code:
I couldn't find out if it was an extension itself or some other bit of code. Clicking through I only could find // Copyright 2014 The Chromium Authors. All rights reserved..
Checking in Incognito mode clear of extensions, the website loads just fine.
I'd also advise to check the Console tab to see if there are were any errors that might cause the infinite loading thing. You'll often find clues there.

IE blocking html form fields

On http://megsmoxie.com/2012/12/enter-to-win-a-fijit-friend-willa/ (or any single post) the search, subscribe, and comment forms do not work in Ineternet Explorer.
You can click in them and see the cursor for a second, then it seems to lose the focus, so I assume it's not an overlapping div issue. If you press a key as soon you click, you can enter one letter, but then it loses focus. It works fine in chrome and ff.
Oddly enough, the problem does not occur in ie on http://megsmoxie.com/contact/ or the homepage (sidebar forms work fine as well as contact form), the issue is only on single posts. Any help would be much appreciated.
You'll note that if you click and hold your mouse down, you can type into the field without interruption. It's only when you release your mouse button that the focus is stolen, and you can no longer type. With this behavioral observation, I took to Chrome to see what events are being handled:
I found that the document has a handler for the mouseup event, and that this code was coming from icx-ez-excerpt.js. Tracking this back through your document, you can find the relevant references below (removing these, sure enough, resolved the issue):
<script type="text/javascript">
var icx_publication_id = 10591;
var icx_copyright_notice = 'Copyright 2012 Meg's Moxie';
var icx_content_id = '30168';
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://license.icopyright.net/rights/js/copyright-notice.js">
</script>
Remove that, and the code works as expected in IE. I'll dig a bit further to find out what, in their code, is breaking the experience for your users.
I looked over this page and found a lot going on. This is most likely due to some contention with the onfocus events being fired all over the place. IE is notoriously bad at handling the onfocus event in particular.
In addition there seems to be some third party scripts and controls that are firing. Its very possible that one of those is stealing focus from the text boxes in IE only.
Not much more I can tell you beyond that. If you are the developer of this site you are going to need to do some more in depth debugging. Try eliminating some of the stuff going on and adding it back one by one until it breaks again or debugging some of the javascript.

Disable back space key for browser based AS3 application

this is insanely annoying problem:
AS3 full screen application based on ADOBE FLEX 4, text field. User types something in text field, and then starts clicking backspace many many times to remove what he just wrote, and for some reason, instead of removing characters from text field it tells browser to GO BACK and user navigates away. Why?! Please, please help, this is so terrible. My users are losing important unsaved this is data while using my application!
i am using safari browser
PLEASE HELP.
Wow, this is terrible, I am so irritated, it happens every single time
It is possible that the focus is lost from your text field when hitting the backspace multiple times (check if you are firing some events on the text field that may cause this), which causes the main window to take focus and trigger 'Back' on the browser.
The root of the problem is that the browser carries out keyboard shortcuts REGARDLESS of the flash app having the focus or not. From what I heard this problem does not exist on Safari's for Mac, only Safari for Windows.
I would check to see what browser you are in and then create a popup saying you this app does NOT work on Safari browser ON windows.
Scratching head*
Well maybe if HAD to solve this, I would use the ExternalInterface to interact with Safari or javascript to PREVENT the history back button from getting applied. So it won't go back to an old page. That is what I would look into.
