Bootstrap extra space on right - html

Hi I am unsure why I have a lot of extra space on the right of the site when I use Bootstrap for a wordpress blog.
http://peterzapfella.com/
If you load the page, you will see you can scroll right and you will see white space. When I validate the site I get the GREEN light saying that it is valid, and I can't seem to figure out why the space is there, could someone please see if they have better luck debugging this.
I could understand if I have missed a DIV or something but according to http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpeterzapfella.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 I have not.

It's because you are using "container" class with "pagination" class and "container" class has "width: 970px;" css style.
Please use below code to fix issue.
in HTML:
<div class="pagination"></div>
or in CSS insert below code:
.pagination.container{width:100%}

Its possibly because of this
<div class="pagination container"></div>
Removing this removes extra space on right side.

As is this HTML bit:
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="col-md-9 col-xs-12 cont-grid">
To be:
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="col-xs-12 cont-grid">
the col-md-9 is extra in the second div.

Bootstrap layout issue - row divs floating out of container

I’m experiencing two issues with a bootstrap layout on a website that I’m building and I’m wondering if someone can point out where I’m going wrong. I have put my site live on a sub domain so that you can see the issue I am facing. It can be found here http://cefn.mywebsitebuild.co.uk//fixtures-results/first-team/
Issue one
The col-xs-12 fix-result div is floating outside the container and im unsure why. I also want this to align with the image see green line on my image
Issue two
The col-xs-12 match-sponsor div is also floating outside the container and I’m unsure why
I have uploaded my page source http://www.bootlint.com/ and its tells me that there are problems with your code.
Can someone please tell me what I can do to get this working?
Thanks
Paul
You may not want to adjust div's for that one image. I would strongly recommend to leave current bootstrap settings. Instead if you want to fill div with that image, add this attribute to parent div of that image.This way image would be aligned with rest of your divs.
style="
padding: 0px 0px;
"
You nest your rows differently. This is the easiest fix:
<!-- This is your very first row -->
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="row"> <!-- INSERT ROW HERE -->
<h4 class="heading-mini">First Team Fixtures & Results</h4>
<img src="/media/1014/img_5507.jpg?crop=0,0.24305557250976545,0.0000000000000007579122514774,0.33194442749023489&cropmode=percentage&rnd=131162832050000000" class="img-responsive team-photo" alt="" title="">
<p class="photo-names">Back row (left to right): Paul Griffiths, Nathan Williams, Sam Roberts, Oliver Davies, Jamie Rawlinson</p>
</div> <!-- END ROW HERE -->
</div>
</div>
However, I wouldn't go so far to say that it's the best fix... sorry. (I would opt for removing a nested row/columns everywhere else... )
Issue 2 is the same thing. (Everywhere else you have nested row->col->row->col.)
Hi fixed this by adding the following to the parent row divs
<div class="row" style="margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;">
The nested bootstrap validates and It now looks as i wanted (hope its correct)
I plan to create a class apply the margin fix and apply the class tto the parent row divs instead of using inline style.
Thanks

Bootstrap two tables side by side header issues

I ran into an issue while trying to place two tables in the same bootstrap row. They appear just fine, however the panel-heading element gets cutoff because of some strange CSS restriction.
I noticed the issue starts when I try to add this line in:
<div class="panel panel-default col-md-6">
Unfortunately this is somewhat required, as it will specify the table takes up 50% of width of the parent element. Does anyone have any advice on how to isolate the responsible CSS rule/how to fix this issue?
JS Fiddle
What's required is to introduce another div around those with the class of panel.
Here's what it should look like:
<div class="col-md-6">
<div class="panel panel-default">
Here's an updated Fiddle: https://jsfiddle.net/x9d5k7Lv/12/

Bootstrap way of dealing with multiple stacked wells

I just started out using twitter bootstrap and so far I've had a nice experience.
I'm currently having some trouble with positioning some .well elements the way I'd like them to be. Basically, this is what I'd like to see them
But this is what I get
The second row is clearly overlapping the first one because the elements are floated and the row is not wrapped around the .well element. I tried to apply .clearfix class but sadly it did not fix this.
Here's the html I'm currently using
<div class="container">
<div class="row offset-top-large">
<div class="col-md-9">
<a href="#" class="well well-lg">
</a>
</div>
</div>
<div class="row offset-top">
<div class="col-md-9">
<a href="#" class="well well-lg">
</a>
</div>
</div>
</div>
The .offset-top classes just add additional margins to the rows
.offset-top-large{
margin-top:100px;
}
.offset-top{
margin-top:20px;
}
I know that I can fix this on my own by manipulating the css, like, removing the floats, for example, but my question is - can I do this (get the desired output) without adding any additional CSS and possibly breaking the bootstrap functionality (resizing to smaller screens etc.).
Edit
Sorry, I had posted the code with the wrong well size class - I have corrected it now and here is a fiddle displaying my problem - http://www.bootply.com/127620
Thanks!
Based on the html and css you provided, this has nothing to do with floats. The problem is that you only have link elements in your rows, which by default are inline elements. Inline elements don't take up any space in their container elements. Try adding display:block or display:inline-block to the well elements.
The update to your question doesn't change a lot, you just need to increase the margin to account for the larger well size.
Try this:
.offset-top-large{
margin-top:100px;
}
.offset-top{
margin-top:50px;
}
Note: bantroth is also correct, adding display:block to your a tags is another solution.

HTML & CSS Layout float issue

This is basically the site http://funkz.nfshost.com/
The bottom post with <div id="big-post"></div> element is floated to the left,
and the sidebar with <aside id="tab-lists"></aside> element is floated to the right,
but when i add another(or more) <div id="big-post"> element after the first one it moves the whole sidebar down with the post...
I've tried clearing, but nothing helped...I'm pretty sure the solution is simple, can someone help me?
<div class="some_new_div">
<div id="big-post">...</div>
<div id="big-post">...</div>
<div id="big-post">...</div>
</div>
<aside id="tab-lists"></aside>
CSS
.some_new_div{float: left;}
Remove float from big-post and then take a new element, inside that- put big-post element
Right-floated elements have to be placed before other elements, so you have to do something like this:
....
<aside id="tab-lists"></aside>
<div id="big-post"></div>
<div id="big-post"></div>
....
Your <aside id="tab-lists"></aside> element needs to occur before any of the<div id="big-post"> elements.
I've just moved it above the post div in chrome developer tools and could add another post successfully.
right goes over left in this case, your aside needs to be moved up in the chain, in this case above the big-post.

How do I push a header alongside part of a container?

I've got some HTML:
<div id="thing">
<div id="contentheader">
<h3>Header</h3>
</div>
<div id="contentcontainer">
<div id="image">
<img alt="balt" src="imagesrc">
</div>
<div id="body">
<p>hegl gegl</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
I need to push the h3 in 'contentheader' down alongside the image in 'contentcontainer' while having the body text sit alongside it. Everything is of variable width save the image.
Perhaps an image will demonstrate better:
As you can see, grey corresponds with 'thing', green with 'contentcontainer' and blue with 'contentheader'.
Editing the HTML would be a major hassle. I also can't make anything other than the image fixed-width. Is it possible to do it with just CSS? (It'd be awesome to be able to do it with floats and stuff but I don't know if it's doable)
I don't think you're going to find a perfect solution with CSS. You could use positioning but you would probably run into issues if you had a long title that ran more than one line.
If you're open to using javascript the following non-framework snippet would work.
// Add the header inside the container div just before the body
containerDiv = document.getElementById('contentcontainer');
headerDiv = document.getElementById('contentheader');
bodyDiv = document.getElementById('body');
containerDiv.insertBefore(headerDiv, bodyDiv);
You could recreate this code as a neater, one-liner using jQuery or another javascript framework.
Sure, heres the Css for a rudimentary setup:
http://jsfiddle.net/Nkapr/
Ask if you have any questions.
The problem here is the HTML structure, it's not been written really with your goal in mind (which is a bummer!)
If all you're after is pushing the H3 container 'contentheader' down in line with the rest of the stuff inside 'contentcontainer' you could set a negative top margin on 'contentcontainer' to pull it upwards, and then add a positive top margin to the elements in 'contentcontainer' which need to go down (in this case 'image') giving the impression that the h3 section actually sits in with the rest of the content. It's a bit of a hack but it might do the trick if you can't alter the HTML.
Thirtydot's answewr in the comments section solved my issue.
