On my Bolt 2.0 webpage I have a News-Content type. Now I would like to show the name/alias of the autor of the record on the page. I have tried to use {{user.username}}, but this gives me the actual user and not the one that created the record. What field do I have to show?
The solution is:
{{record.user.displayname}}

We have a scenario where we should not display the header in the output in CSV using eText template.
Our output looks like this:
Header000001 Header000002
------------ ------------
Adetail1 Bdetail1
Adetail2 Bdetail2
Adetail3 Bdetail3
Desired output is:
Adetail1 Bdetail1
Adetail2 Bdetail2
Adetail3 Bdetail3
We tried all possible options in eText template like removing header section, verifying the data using BI Publisher Desktop tool, verifying logs etc.
We are not getting any error in BI Publisher Desktop tool.
Same question has been posted by somebody some time ago and it was resolved, but solution was not provided.
It would be very helpful if anybody can provide the exact solution.
The header will just be another block in your eText template. You can use the <DISPLAY CONDITION> command to skip printing that block in the output. The display condition command specifies when the enclosed record or data field group should be displayed. The command parameter is a boolean expression. When it evaluates to true, the record or data field group is displayed. Otherwise the record or data field group is skipped. You can just give condition as false, and that block will be skipped.
I have created a template using the provided data xml to output a CSV, without headers. A delimiter based template is used, but the header is not printed.
Access it from here.
I have a HTML table where I am allowing dynamic adding/deleting rows (that contain text-input's in the cells) using some JavaScript. I am not using ASP.NET TextBox controls, just traditional HTML, as I don't think rows containing ASP.NET controls can be added/deleted without a postback.
When the user clicks an ASP:Button, I am using VB to loop through the table rows in server-code, and ultimately use LINQ to write to a database. I have "Imports System.Web.UI.HtmlControls" in the file.
The code where I am getting problems is:
Dim name As HtmlInputText
name = row.Cells(0).Controls(0)
The error is: "Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.UI.LiteralControl' to type 'System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputText'." On the 2nd line above.
There is only one input control in each cell, so I am assuming I can use "Controls(0)" to access it. I have read solutions that use "FindControl", but I don't think this works with standard HTML "inputs", but also, as the rows are dynamically added/deleted, it's near-impossible to know the "ID" to search for.
Any ideas? Cheers.
Figured out the problem. Just needed to add runat="server" to the input tags. Thanks every one for the replies.
Is it possible to make Power BI read JSON data? I've spent an entire day yesterday to figure out how to convert the JSON data into a readable table in Power Bi, but with no luck.
I tried googling for hours, but there is no proper documentation anywhere.
I'm retrieving a JSON payload from my website and when I try to import, it shows the data like this:
Record
Record
Record
Record
Maybe there are any tutorials I can follow? Or perhaps another alternative to Power BI that would properly read and structure my JSON data?
As mentioned in comments, just besides each Record (if headers), are you able to see any small box with two arrows, try clicking it.
This Answer may help now..
First We have to convert this to table ->Click on the Icon in top left corner
Properties window will open. dont change anything Click on Ok.Now you can see the list converted to Column.
There is an arrow icon in the column -> Click on it
Main Step :In the property window uncheck "use original column name as prefix"
Here we go You can now use this result !

Retrieving data from a .json file brings in 'Records'. Each row of data is returned as a 'Record' which is a List. Each record in 'Records' is a hyperlink that opens the row elements. You could convert the 'Records' into a table, but you get a Table with a single column which has all the records with each record a row from the original JSON data.

I'm displaying the contents of a database on a particular page(recipe names).
I'd like each recipe to be a link which opens to another page. I understand I would have to obtain the recipe id for that particular recipe, pass the id to another page and print the recipe contents onto that page. I would like to know how to retrieve the unique recipe id of a particular recipe ON BEING CLICKED upon mainly.
If you are displaying the contents of a database on a particular page, then definitely you are using a server side scripting like like ASP or PHP or some JavaScript + AJAX. I am quite unclear about that. But for your question, I can tell you one thing that, if, suppose you are using PHP, then you may display the link as;
echo ''.$recipiename.'';
where $recipeid is the variable carrying recipe id and $recipiename is the name of your recipe. In your PHP file (yourpage.php), you may catch this data like $_GET["recipeid"]
You may try a Google search for tutorials.
Use;
$strLink = ''.$strName.'';
echo "<li>".$strLink."</li>";
Don't use spaces.
You just make the id part auf the URL the recipe link points to.
Iced Water
Would be a link pointing to the recipe with ID 23. Since the url is available on the server side you are all set.
I need to design database with frontend as HTML.
This is my first attempt to do this.
What I need is,
- User can input a word from HTML page, click submit
I will query the word to get a URL from database and user sees that webpage(pointed by URL).
Just enter word, submit and get the webpage displayed.
People suggested using JSP/Access. I am new to everything.
Can you please point out what exactly I need to do?
Thanks a ton.
Following is the way you need to approach
Step1:
Create an HTML page which can take an input from the users
Step 2:
After getting the data from the user, create a connection to the database and pass the searched string as an input paramater.
Step 3:
You will get a result set from a database
Step 4:
Iterate through the result set and display in the html page, if you require the url to be given for those url, so when user clicks So that he will be directed to those websites.
Sample Query:
Select * from table1 where url_Word like '%Search_String'
This will be the procedure that you need to follow to complete your work.
You do not need a database you need a text file. If this is a school project you need more information.
