Everywhere I look I see instructions saying to go Chrome > Tools > Clear browsing data. There's no "Tools" option in that menu. I've hunted high and low through the preferences and developer tools but cannot find anything that lets me clear the cache.
My Mac Chrome version is 39.0.2171.71 which apparently is up to date.
Running Chrome Version 39.0.2171.71 (64-bit) on Mac OSX. It's under More tools.

I've decided to upgrade my laptop and reinstall windows 10. It is always risky, but I had to do it. Now I realize that I didn't copy/backup chrome dev tool snippets that I was working on.
I tried to search in:
C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
But couldn't find anything.
Is there a way to find those snippets on an HDD of an old system?
I have the extension New Tab Studio https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/new-tab-studio-countdown/epngggilgnflanfabeldfpbgponcgpgl
Several days ago uninstalls from ChromeOS became so big (other OS - as usual).
I wanna try to install ChromeOS on VirtualBox and test my extension, but it's not a very easy task, maybe it's easier to buy Chromebook.
But first of all,
Can my extension has specific bug only for ChromeOS?
Also, I have anonymous messages from google forms, that app crashes (on the background button click), but I cannot reproduce any bugs on Mac OS or Windows.
I reproduced it on Linux (i think that the cores of ChromeOS browser and Linux are the same)
So, the case was that I had the image with path /all.jpeg, but was requesting /All.jpeg. MacOS and Windows was fine with this typo, they even show me the image.
But Linux (and I guess ChromeOS) crashed the extension. And the crash was observed only in the extension installed from Chrome Web Store (my local production build just didn't show the image, but worked fine)
Can i change the version of browser while debugging.

There's definitely no feature within Chrome DevTools to change Chrome versions.
Chrome doesn't provide a simple or official way to download old versions. You might be able to find some unofficial archives of old versions, but use with caution.
Can I roll back Google Chrome to a previous version?
No - rollback is not supported.
To get to a previous version (which would not be supported by Google),
you would need to uninstall your current version, delete every user's
saved profile data, and re-install the older version. Users' personal
profile data is kept in:
On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Local
Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data On Windows Vista /
7: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

I have tried removing it from the extensions section in Chrome settings, but it reappears every time I reopen Chrome. My computer runs on Windows 7 Ultimate
As you haven't specified, I assume, you are using Windows OS. It is a potential malware. You have to uninstall the program explicitly from control panel and then restart chrome. It should work. If it doesn't work, then you might have to scan your system by some good anti-virus like kaspersky or avast.
You should download Microsoft Security Essentials (or another similar anti-virus program) I've used MSE in the past and it works well (without noticeably slowing down your system) there are no up-sells with it either (like you'll get w McAfee or Norton antivirus).
Just go to Google, search Microsoft Security Essentials. Then download and install the latest version (for Windows 7 32-bit)
It's free and should get rid of this program (looks like Malware to me).

I am using custom sync options to synchronize only some of the artifacts from a Google chrome installation - just Bookmarks, Extensions and Open Tabs. All three are working on well on my two windows computers - but on the Linux machine, I am not getting the extensions. I have tried wiping the Linux Chrome data (by removing ~/.config/google-chrome/ and re-configuring it, the the problem remains the same.
I am wondering if there are any logs that the chrome browser produces that can give me a hint on what the problem might be.
Thanks a lot
Looks like this is not a bug but a "feature", different support of extension per OS, but seems there might be hope this is fixed in future releases see:
