CSS class working on one page, but not another - html

Basically, I am trying to shift text down, in the head I am using the CSS:
<style>
.movedown {
position: relative;
margin-top: 20em;
}
</style>
And the text I want moved down has the code:
<div class="movedown">......</div>
The first page I tried this on, it worked, but on the second one it's doing nothing.
Also, the opening <style> tag is not turning blue in notepad++ on the broken page, if that is something to do with it?

Fixed it!
What I did was move the code that was in the head into the top of the body.
I don't know why it didn't work in the head but now it all works fine.

Button inside an iframe is not working

I am using a simple iframe code;
<iframe src="http://caesium.x10.mx/test/index.html" allowtransparency="true" style="border:none" width="852" height="500"></iframe>
And inside http://caesium.x10.mx/test/index.html there is a working button (bottom right) but if you try to click this button on the iframed page (http://caesium.x10.mx/test/index.php) the button does not work.
Can anyone help me find a solution to this?
Thanks!
The code being used for the button.
<center><button onclick="ChangeSkin()">Change Skin</button></center>
<script>
function ChangeSkin() {
location.href = 'https://www.minecraft.net/profile/skin/remote?url=https://crafatar.com/skins/' + document.getElementById('username').value + '.png';
}
</script>
Is it possible the entire iframe is behind another transparent layer?
Try setting css properties:
EDIT:
Position:static;
z-index: 1000000; (or higher than any other elements)
You can do this either in a linked .css file, or within the head tags of the page like so:
<head>
<style>
#content{
Position:static;
z-index: 1000000;
}
</style>
</head>
I often find this to be the issue when ui elements are not functioning as expected.
Your transparent footer div is overlapping the iFrame. If I give your content div a positive z-index (like #content { z-index: 1; }), then the div containing your iFrame is layered on top of the footer, and all the buttons start working again.
Iframes are great, but from what I remember the entire Iframe is one button.
Thats because of exploits that broke out a long while back. The Iframe is basically a live updated screenshot.
I have however seen many that allow links.
So, I would try the other answers first.
I have solved this problem in bootstrap 4 by adding the following to my custom stylesheet:
iframe{
z-index:9999;
}
That seemed to do the trick

Css3 hyperlink button dysplayed outside of parent div and going HUGE

I have a webpage with with some hyperlink buttons next to some text. I coded it the other day and it was just fine. It is giving me nuts.
However, today when I went back to it the button was bumping out of its div, and had a dimension at least five times the supposed one.
Being unable to locate the piece of css where the problem resides, I have copied the relevant HTML area and uploaded the resulting page at url http://prova.webuda.com/biglietti.html.
The problematic element is the huge green button on the right of the page.
If all was working properly the page should display two lines of 50px height of with match information, now one line is taking up the whole screenview ...
What am I doing wrong?
your .buttonDiv class has the folowing settings:
width: 15px;
max-width: 15px;
float: right;
white-space: pre-wrap;
that is doing most of what you describe.. it doesnt look perfect but removing those results in this:

Whole Page Clickable, Firefox

I have this piece of code in my style sheet to change the cursor to a pointer on one page, and it works well except on firefox, where it doesn't give you a "pointer" finger to let you know the page is clickable.
html {
cursor:pointer;
}
The thing is, the normal method of putting an onclick event in the body tag isn't working. (shown below not working)
<body onclick="window.href.location=filename">
body text
</body>
How do I get a pointer finger on the whole page instead of the normal mouse cursor in firefox?
Add a hover rule to the body element.
body:hover {
cursor:pointer;
}
You'll have to fill your whole screen with the element.
html {
cursor:pointer;
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
}
Check this JSFiddle that I put together for you.
I guess you need to fill the entire page with some element like:
<div style="position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;right:0px;bottom:0px">
</div>
and use this inside the body. There you probaly need to care about the bodies margins.
Or you append a click handler to the entire window via JavaScrip:
window.addEventListener("click", doSomething, false);
Make life easy:
CSS
#page{display:block;position:absolute;top:0;bottom:0:left:0;right:0;}

anchor positioning browsers

I am using the following html to position anchors under a fixed menu:
<a style="position: relative; top: -150px;" name="services"></a>
This works fine in Firefox but ie, chrome and safari all load the anchors to a slightly different position, obscuring the text 'under' the fixed menu.
Does anyone have any ideas of how I could go about resolving this issue.

When I make sites like this, I like to make sure that each "page" has a similar class, but different id. When styling the class, make sure you give the following attributes.
.page {
overflow: hidden;
margin-bottom: 1000px;
}
Adding the margin-bottom will prevent you from seeing the extra pages.
I also noticed that you are using jQuery for the slide to effect, I am not sure why you are using the styling for the a name. Just do the following:
<h1 class="page_title" id="services"><a name="services">Services</a></h1>
And make sure to wrap everything up in the page DIV.

Place a html link on part of a background image only, typo3 site.

I have taken over a website that was coded in tables (looks like DW) and is half coded in typo3 CMS and half hard coded.
Anyway, my boss has asked me to make the logo clickable to link to the homepage from every page that the logo shows. The problem is that the logo is part of the whole image that makes up a third of the page, so linking the whole image is out of the question.
I don't want to have to restructure and slice the images to separate the logo from the BG image, so is it possible to place a link section over the logo only?
I thought about an empty div that sits over the logo section only with a link tag that fills it 100%, is this possible and would it work? The site is here http://overbeckanalytics.com/typo3/menu-top/about-us.html... you can save the BG image and see its not just the logo...
Please tell me how I can make a link that sits over the logo only on that image.
Is the background image on the <body> element? If so, this should work:
<body>
Example Company
</body>
With this CSS:
a#logo_link {
position: absolute;
display: block;
visibility: hidden;
left: 42px;
top: 42px;
width: 42px;
height: 42px;
}
Note the <a> tag needs to be directly inside the <body> tag, or else the position may be incorrect. It can be anywhere in the body tag however, at the beginning or the end.
I've also placed the company name inside the link, since it's a bad idea to have a link without any text. A blank link cannot be understood by browsers designed for disabled users, and it may trigger spam algorithms in search engines. The visibility property will make the link invisible, even though it is still there and can be clicked on.
I provided an example answer. If you're allowed to load a JQuery library and can place the anchor somewhere on the page.
