The HTML:
<form class="form-wrapper cf">
<form method="get" action="https://encrypted.google.com/search" target="_top">
<input type="text" name="q" placeholder="Search here..." required>
<button type="submit">Charge!</button>
</form>
Everything seems to work fine except when I click "Charge!" (the submit button). Nothing happens. It doesn't search through google like it's supposed to. Help?

You have two form tags. You need to close your input tag. I don't know what required is for, but this works:
http://jsfiddle.net/t743qqxo/
<form class="form-wrapper cf" method="get" action="https://encrypted.google.com/search" target="_top">
<input type="text" name="q" placeholder="Search here..." required />
<button type="submit">Charge!</button>
</form>

How to open a search bar to left

I've a search box created in CSS. When I click its icon, it displays input bar. It works perfectly. The only problem is when I click it, it opens input bar in right side area of search icon. I wanted to open it to left side of the icon. How I can do that?
Here's the code I am using:

Thanks for your help!
To change the size from right to left, you have to move the whole page with direction: rtl; Adjust it.

Checkbox checked is not altering css

I've styled a checkbox like a button however when the checkbox is checked it doesn't apply the style that I have wrote for the button.
Just wondering what I am doing wrong hopefully it's not too obvious.
Html
<div class="customCheckBox"style="margin-top:10px; margin: 10px auto;">
<input class="checkbox" type="checkbox" name="check1" id="check1">
<label class="checklabel" for="check1">Directors, Managers & Professionals</label>
</div>
CSS
body {
font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', Arial, sans-serif;
font-size: 14px;
line-height: 1.429;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
color: #000000;
}
.customCheckBox{
height: 60px;
display:flex;
width:190px;
color: #702082;
font-weight: 600;
border:3px solid #702082;
position: relative;
align-items: center;
transition: all 0.2s;
}
.customCheckBox:hover{
background-color: #702082;
color: white;
-moz-box-shadow: 3px 3px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0,0.25);
-webkit-box-shadow: 3px 3px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0, .25);
box-shadow: 3px 3px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0, .25);
}
.checklabel {
text-align:center;
font-size:1.1em;
}
.checkbox {
position:absolute;
right:-3px;
top:-3px;
width: 190px;
height: 60px;
-webkit-appearance: none;
-moz-appearance: none;
-ms-appearance: none;
appearance: none;
border:none;
padding:0;
border-radius:0;
transition:.3s ease;
outline:0;
}
.checkbox:checked + .customCheckBox {
background-color: #702082;
color: white;
}
Here Is a Jfiddle of it too http://jsfiddle.net/pjtmzLy5/1/.
Should be like this;
In css + means what is right next to the previous one.
In your case .checkbox:checked + .checklabel.
So if checkbox is :checked than style the checklabel;
You need to add default styles for .checklabel so adding height&width inherit should do the trick; than add more styles like justify-content & align-items to center it;
body {
font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', Arial, sans-serif;
font-size: 14px;
line-height: 1.429;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
color: #000000;
}
.customCheckBox{
height: 60px;
width:190px;
color: #702082;
font-weight: 600;
border:3px solid #702082;
position: relative;
align-items: center;
transition: all 0.2s;
}
.customCheckBox:hover{
background-color: #702082;
color: white;
-moz-box-shadow: 3px 3px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0,0.25);
-webkit-box-shadow: 3px 3px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0, .25);
box-shadow: 3px 3px 10px rgba(0, 0, 0, .25);
}
.checklabel {
display:flex;
justify-content: center;
align-items: center;
text-align:center;
font-size:1.1em;
height: inherit;
width: inherit;
}
.checkbox {
position:absolute;
right:-3px;
top:-3px;
width: 190px;
height: 60px;
-webkit-appearance: none;
-moz-appearance: none;
-ms-appearance: none;
appearance: none;
border:none;
padding:0;
border-radius:0;
transition:.3s ease;
outline:0;
}
.checkbox:checked + .checklabel {
background-color: #702082;
color: white;
}
<div class="customCheckBox"style="margin-top:10px; margin: 10px auto;">
<input class="checkbox" type="checkbox" name="check1" id="check1">
<label class="checklabel" for="check1">Directors, Managers & Professionals</label>
</div>
I Would suggest you to remove all the styles from .checkbox since you are hiding it you only need
.checkbox {display: none}
Move the checkbox outside of the div tag:
<input class="checkbox" type="checkbox" name="check1" id="check1">
<div class="customCheckBox"style="margin-top:10px; margin: 10px auto;">
<label class="checklabel" for="check1">Directors, Managers & Professionals</label>
</div>
The + selector in CSS means .customCheckBox directly following .checkbox:checked.

You can try javascript for this.. in that script function you add styles and check..
Where you are writing code for displaying that modal 'login-modal'??

-moz-border-radius: 0px 3px 3px 0px;
-webkit-border-radius: 0px 3px 3px 0px;
outline-style: none;
outline-width: 0px;
outline-color: #000;
}
And the HTML is:
<div class="universityContainer">
<input type="text" class="university typeahead" placeholder="University Name">
<button id="next">NEXT</button>
</div>
The CSS for .universityContainer is:
.universityContainer {
display: table-cell;
vertical-align: middle;
}
Note: It should be noted that it renders correctly in every browser except for Firefox.
Remove display: block from the .university. Fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/gf9Tr/
You can remove display: block; or you can use display: inline-block; in class university instead.
You need to change display:block on the input element to display: inline-block.
Here is a jsbin to show them lining up correctly.

Search box in CSS3 not the right size

I'm trying to make one of those pretty CSS3 search boxes based on the code from this site: http://speckyboy.com/2012/02/15/how-to-build-a-stylish-css3-search-box/
Everything looks like it does in the picture on that site except for the actual search box, which instead looks like this (in both Safari and Chrome):
Any help getting the search box to look the way it should?
UPDATE: Here is the code (you can also get this at the link above):
/* Form wrapper styling */
.form-wrapper {
width: 450px;
padding: 15px;
margin: 150px auto 50px auto;
background: #444;
background: rgba(0,0,0,.2);
border-radius: 10px;
box-shadow: 0 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.4) inset, 0 1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.2);
}
/* Form text input */
.form-wrapper input {
width: 330px;
height: 20px;
padding: 10px 5px;
float: left;
font: bold 15px 'lucida sans', 'trebuchet MS', 'Tahoma';
border: 0;
background: #eee;
border-radius: 3px 0 0 3px;
}
.form-wrapper input:focus {
outline: 0;
background: #fff;
box-shadow: 0 0 2px rgba(0,0,0,.8) inset;
}
.form-wrapper input::-webkit-input-placeholder {
color: #999;
font-weight: normal;
font-style: italic;
}
.form-wrapper input:-moz-placeholder {
color: #999;
font-weight: normal;
font-style: italic;
}
.form-wrapper input:-ms-input-placeholder {
color: #999;
font-weight: normal;
font-style: italic;
}
/* Form submit button */
.form-wrapper button {
overflow: visible;
position: relative;
float: right;
border: 0;
padding: 0;
cursor: pointer;
height: 40px;
width: 110px;
font: bold 15px/40px 'lucida sans', 'trebuchet MS', 'Tahoma';
color: #fff;
text-transform: uppercase;
background: #d83c3c;
border-radius: 0 3px 3px 0;
text-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(0, 0 ,0, .3);
}
.form-wrapper button:hover{
background: #e54040;
}
.form-wrapper button:active,
.form-wrapper button:focus{
background: #c42f2f;
outline: 0;
}
.form-wrapper button:before { /* left arrow */
content: '';
position: absolute;
border-width: 8px 8px 8px 0;
border-style: solid solid solid none;
border-color: transparent #d83c3c transparent;
top: 12px;
left: -6px;
}
.form-wrapper button:hover:before{
border-right-color: #e54040;
}
.form-wrapper button:focus:before,
.form-wrapper button:active:before{
border-right-color: #c42f2f;
}
.form-wrapper button::-moz-focus-inner { /* remove extra button spacing for Mozilla Firefox */
border: 0;
padding: 0;
}
Box-sizing is your friend:
.font-wrapper input {
...
-webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
box-sizing: border-box;
}
