I deleted an app from the web console but there was an error. After that, the system shows no apps but says that I am using 2 of 3 gears. Anyone knows how to solve this issue?
Perhaps not the most direct answer, but one avenue to try would be the command line interface rhc. If you install that, and try using it, you may have more success in figuring it out. I believe rhc is supposed to me more full featured than the web interface.
for steps on how to get started with rhc, look here https://www.openshift.com/get-started and click on the Command Line heading.

I'm trying to package some code up as an ANE, something we've done before in house. However we're currently stuck on an ADT error which I can't seem to wrap my head around.
When running the following from a sh file, I'm getting an error.
Shell script:
ADT="/Applications/air/bin/adt"
NAME="VideoRoll"
AFILE="libVideoRollANE.a"
$ADT -package -target ane $NAME.ane extension.xml -swc $NAME.swc -platform iPhone-ARM -platformoptions platformoptions.xml library.swf $AFILE
Error:
platformoptions.xml is not part of a Mac OS X Native Extensions
framework
All of the files are in the correct place and being clearly picked up by adt, as I'd assume there would be something else I'd be getting back. If you're after the source code, it's an open source library on bitbucket that I've forked and made a couple of changes to. I'm trying to compile it with Adobe AIR SDK 20 to try and fix an issue we're getting but I'm struggling to just build it from the base source right now. The source can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/lostirc/videoroll/src .
Any suggestions would be great, I'm up for trying anything now. I've modified nearly everything I can think of and tried various different orders for the command, it seems if I remove the platformoptions flag and value, then it gives the same error about library.swf, so I'm not sure it's directly related to the platformoptions.xml.
I worked around the problem by running the same command on Windows. This isn't really a solution but a potential workaround for anyone having the same issue. If anyone can post a good answer then I'll accept that, but for now this is the best answer I've got.
When I try to run my Windows Store app, it won't, and shows me this:
..."does not support the contract specified"? What contract? I'm not implementing any contract; I assume it means the Settings contract or some such, but I'm not doing any of those yet.
I went to the Help page suggested, and it says, in part, "To diagnose these errors
There are no sure ways to fix these errors. Use these techniques to diagnose the problem."
The first suggestion is:
Open Event Viewer (on the Windows Start menu, search for Event Viewer.) In Event Viewer, navigate in the tree to the Application and Services Log\Microsoft\Windows\Apps folder.
Filter the view to event Ids: 5900-6000
Examine the log and see what occurred.
Windows 8.1 only brings up web pages when I search for "Event Viewer"
Actually, I did write a utility to catch event logs, and I ran that. I found these:
***Type: Error

But where is "Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log"?
The second suggestion on the Help page was:
Use the native debugger
Configure the project to run under a native debugger.
In Visual Studio, set the Debugger Type to Native Only on the Debug (Debugging in C++ and JavaScript) page of the property pages of the start-up project.
Look at the exceptions being thrown by looking at the output window. You might want to configure the debugger to stop when these exceptions are thrown.
I did that, but it gave me no more information than previously - nothing at all displays in the Output pane.
What could be the cause of this?
UPDATE
Just to update the progress:
Based on Iris Classon's suggestions, I went to Control Panel to see if my app was installed so that I could uninstall it, but it's not in that list.
If I search for the app by typing its name, it tries to start up - its splash screen displays, but goes no further than that.
I went to Program Files\WindowsApps, and when selecting it got, "You don't currently have persimmons to access this folder, click continue to continually get access"
That leads me to "You have been denied permission to access this folder; to gain access to this folder, you will need to use the security tab"
Click the "security tab" link takes me to that tab, and a "For special permissions or advanced settings, click Advanced"
I do so.
That takes me to a Permissions tab, which says, "You must have Read permissions to view the properties of this object; Click continue to attempt the operation with administrative permissions"
I then selected (one at a time, as that is all it allows):
Trusted Installer : Full control
System: Read, Write, and Execute
System: Full Control
Administrators: Read & Execute
But so far, none of that seems to do anything good.
UPDATE 2
This problem has just "gone away" today; I don't think it was anything I did. I added a UserControl, tried running the app again, and now it runs - I don't see that error message. However, I do see a seemingly unrelated one. (at least I got further).
I just had this problem on a fresh install of Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I'm not sure which one of these steps solved it, but until somebody can give you a more exact answer here is something to try as I am sure you are keen on coding.
Only Store Apps run from VS gives that error, other Store apps work fine.
I first of all changed permissions on my WindowsApps folder under Program Files and made sure that I had full access to the folder and sub folders. Restarted the laptop, still no luck.
Then I set up an admin guest account (just something I tend to do for when I need to record tutorials- so not related to trying to solve the error). Out of curiosity I tried to create and run the same Windows Store App and got an error that another user had installed the app. Strange, how was it installed if it gave me the error that it couldn't activate the app on the main account?
I logged back in as the main user and uninstalled the application (which was showing up as installed), and I can now run any Store App from VS without problems.
Not sure this is an answer since I'm not sure what made it work, but give it a try and hopefully somebody else can clear this us up. I'll investigate further, but I'm on a train right now with poor WiFi connection :)
Best of luck!
I had the same scenario, here are the steps I did to resolve:
I tried to create packages, chose not to associate with the store.
It said that the certificate is expired, I created a new test certificate.
I created the test packages successfully.
Tried to run the project from VS and it finally ran.
I believe all of this had to do with the certificate. very frustrating and time wasting issue.
I also had the same problem and following steps fixed it. Hope it will help some one else.
Open the appxmanifest file
Go to "Packaging" tab
Select "Choose Certificate" and select "Pick from certificate store" and select your cetificate and click on ok

When I use the web service with other tools, it works fine. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?
I'm using IBM ID v. 8.5.0.1
(I see this is an old post...but this seems to happen with 8.5.5 as well) I have seen this happen if you change the interface signature in any way -- adding inputs, changing underlying BO's... usually the error goes away if you uninstall the app (or the BLA) from WAS admin console and republish the app.
I am just listing here the basic steps to create a Spring Insight web application using Spring tcServer developer edition. I haven't found much doco regarding this, so it could help some people.
1 - Download Spring Tool Suite here
Download STS
Extract the archive somewhere on your machine, open a terminal and go to ~/tc-server-developer-[VERSION]/
2 - Run the following commands
./tcruntime-instance.sh create -t insight myInstance
This one creates a new tcServer instance based on the template insight. (full list of templates can be found in ~/tc-server-developer-[VERSION]/templates/)
Go to ~/tc-server-developer-[VERSION]/myInstance/bin/ and run the following
./tcruntime-ctl.sh start
This will start your tcServer instance based on the Spring Insight template. Check it is working by pointing your favourite browser to the URL http://localhost:8080/insight. That should display the Spring Insight index page.
Now you just have to drop your web app in the ~/tc-server-developer-[VERSION]/myInstance/webapps/ folder and Bob's your uncle !
Also wanted to mention how to set this up from the IDE without having to do any command line work
Assuming you have a spring mvc project open already in STS. This took a while to find so thank you for posting.
Add a new server from the servers window. Select the VFabric tcServer
Create new instance
When you get to the part where it asks you to select a template pick the insight template.
Add you app to the server you just created
Start the server
You will be prompted if youwant to activate insight, click yes.
Navigate to localhost:8080/insight or whatever port it is running on.
You can find more details here: http://pubs.vmware.com/vfabric5/index.jsp?topic=/com.vmware.vfabric.tc-server.2.6/devedition/install.html&path=2_3_1_0
I am attempting to send a command to the command line with an air/as3 application.
I have seen some documentation on the invoke command but i am wondering if anyone else has dealt with the same set of circumstances.
basically the user will be checking boxes and filling out a form which will then be written as arguments to an application that will be doing the work. this application accepts these arguments as well as a place to store the output file and processes the file.
so is it possible to send commands to the command line using as3/air and furthermore is it possible to obtain the resulting message from the command line.
I have searched a bit for this sort of information but it seems that google returns a lot of 'how to compile as3 from the command line' tutorials and there are very few articles concerning air/as3 and it's possible interactions with the system's command line.
Thank you in advance,
-Nathan
there is no way to launch apps from AIR (explanation here), nor to send anything to the command line ... however mike chambers created CommandProxy that allows you to do so, interfacing with a C# counterpart ...

AIR 2.0 has Native Process API. Through which now its possible.
