I'm using django-cms with djangocms_text_ckeditor and cmsplugin_filer_image.
Whenever I insert an image in a text block on a page and choose "Style > Styled Image (left)", the image appears as I want it to be in the WYSIWYG editor (that is, floating on the left with the text floating at its right).
But on the published page, the image is not floating, it is just left-aligned between two paragraphs.
What am I missing here ?
I faced the same problem yesterday. What I found after doing some research is that for the cmsplugin-filer plugins you have to create templates for the way you want them to be rendered. E.g., say I want an image to be rendered floating left with some padding and margin (like a box). I would do the following:
Create a css file in my app with the styles I want
In my templates folder create cmsplugin_filer_image/plugins/image/boxed.html. Basically boxed.html is like the default.html file you can find in the plugin code but with the css classes I want to apply to the image
Add a reference to my css file in boxed.html
For this to work you have to add this code to your settings.py
CMSPLUGIN_FILER_IMAGE_STYLE_CHOICES = (
('default', 'Default'),
('boxed', 'Boxed'),
)
CMSPLUGIN_FILER_IMAGE_DEFAUL_STYLE = 'boxed'
Once this is done, when you add an image to CKEditor you can select the style you want the image to be rendered.
Hope this help!

A plea to all wiki gurus - can anyone help me create a link to another page in the same wiki when the wiki page is constructed in html?
Alittle background & context: I decided to get a bit arty in my mediawiki and made a simple landing page constructed using CSS and div elements to sit on a mediawiki page. After a little fettling, I managed to get the HTML rendered correctly and the page looks very nice!
Now I wish to use the div elements (lets call them 'buttons') as links to other mediawiki pages within the same wiki. (the actual 'buttons' are made up of several elements wrapped in a containing div element)
The actual html for a 'button' looks like this:
<div class="cf-box"><div class="cf-box-title">Button Title</div><div class="cf-button-icon"></div><div class="cf-box-text">Description of the information the button links to</div></div>
Using HTML, this would be a simple process of wrapping the containing element (cf-box) in a link and all is good in the world. I assumed that you would be able to do something similar in mediawiki such as..
[[Some Page|<div class="container"><div class="button"><div class="text"></div></div></div>]]
but when I try this, the outer 'container' opening and closing div elements are stripped out and displayed on the page as text leaving the internal div elements orphaned rendering garbage on the page. The link does work though!
Thanks to anyone who takes a look!
I'm trying to figure out if an element can be completely deleted within a module. Lets say I have editable text within a module — I can clear the text from within the element, but I can't outright delete that element so it's space is removed from the module and content below, moves up to fill it's place.
The image below illustrates what I'm trying to do.
Is there a way to achieve the result in the 3rd image? Perhaps by using snippets?
Deleting the content from a rich-text element won't completely collapse the section, however, if you write an HTML comment within the rich-text element it will collapse the section completely.

I'm trying to style a list of content generated by Drupal Views. I can edit the HTML output of fields but have no access to the CSS. The content includes an image which needs floating/aligning to the left so that text flows around it. The original image files are a variety of sizes. The HTML I'm using for the image field is:
<img src="[image url]" width="220" height="auto" align="left" />
However, in some cases where images are longer than others, I get an overlapping effect like this:
What I want is for them all to display like this:
How can I do this?
Drupal provides by default feature of cropping/scaling images. There's no point of providing larger images and scaling them down or cropping them with CSS. That's waste of resources (bandwidth).
Go to Configuration -> Media -> Image styles (from admin menu) and define style you need. It's super easy - you just need to name your style and the pick effect you want (i.e. "Scale & crop"), set dimensions you need and save new style.
Then you should start using that style. If your page is generated by view the find and edit that view. Find that image field and set it to use your new style.
Other way is to force displaying of images in your style from template file directly. Find where image is printed and use:
https://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/modules!image!image.module/function/image_style_url/7
First parameter is style name, so put name of style you just created. Other parameter is URI (not path, as mentioned on that page!). Print out (print_r or var_dump whole image object you have in template file and see how can you access image URI. It should be something like:
$node->field_my_image['und'][0]['uri'])
So pass that as second parameter.
Even if you don't have access to the CSS you can still use CSS by adding style in your HTML tags.
As to your overlapping problems, assuming that you have a div that contains your images use can set that div's styleto style="overflow:hidden". You can also just give enough space to the div that contain your image.
By the look of the posts here I'm in the deep end with the big boys whereas I need the toddlers paddling pool. So apologies if I'm in the wrong place with my basic problem.
I can't get images to float with LightBox [v. 2.6]
I have a sample problem page here - http://quivis.co.uk/PROBLEMS/lightbox-float/index.html
That page has 2 copies of the same image. Both 'work' in the sense that when you click them LightBox does its brilliant thing and fires up correctly, but both image links display incorrectly.
The top image looks as it should i.e. with mouse-over highlights/border colours etc but will not float right. In some browsers there is also a large redundant area to the left that I am unable to remove.
The bottom image floats as I want it to but in the process the image link styling is lost.
As all things are possible it must be possible to combine the look of 1 with the positioning of 2 but I can't see how to do it!
All the related files are within the 'PROBLEMS' folder. Please let me know if I should paste the html or css here.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Duncan
Set float:right style to a tag instead of float:right to images.
And there is mis-spelling of class attribute in second a tag, it is mentioned as 'xclass', correct that spelling too.
Is there a simple way to make a styled tooltip for an <area> in a <map> ? By default the browser seem to render the area text into a yellow text box. But I've got cases where the text should be formatted.
I've been trying with Twitter Bootstrap's tooltips and popover but they're always positioned at the top left of the window. At 0,0.
UPDATE - screenshot and code
Telling to add popovers to the area elements of the piechart. Each <area> corresponds to one section of the pie chart.
$('area').popover({content:"I'm a cut off popover" ,trigger:'hover'});
I'd like to have the popover appear next to the hovered-on section.
I'm aware of comparable questions related to <area> in Stack Overflow. My case however is different in the sense that I don't know upfront the size and positions of the sections. So I can't generate a custom style to set the top and left properties.
The same happens for regular tooltips. They're put into the left upper corner. But I'd rather go for popovers because I need formatted content.
Hope this helps.
Just don't use the title attribute which does this yellowish browser tooltip.
For a custom tooltip, you must use a custom solution (javascript based, obviously). I suggest you use a library (like jQuery) and find a tooltip plugin which does what you want like this one
Update
For the css issue with the bootstrap tooltip, it looks like there is a position issue. Please provide more code so we can figure out what's goin' on.
The answer is that this is a bug in Bootstrap
