I solved the problem by setting the port of the SQLEXPRESS server to a specific value as it was dynamic and reserved port 3306.

Using mySQL Server (Xampp) and SQL Server on the same machine

I have been using Xampp to test my website stuff and everything was working perfectly until I decided to install Microsoft SQL SERVER 2017 to do some data science stuff (school stuff).
Now I can still start Apache but I cant start MySQL. Here is the log :

I tried shutting down the SQL Server using SQL Server Management but I still can't connect MySQL.
You can change port of sql server or mysql server and dont forget to specify the port while accessing it.
Since Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL/MariaDB/Percona use different ports (and it doesn't sound like you've changed from the defaults), I doubt this is related to you installing SQL Server. SQL Server uses port 1433 and MySQL port 3306.
As for what is using that port, https://stackoverflow.com/a/48199/2385479 helps us. There is a suggestion for the TCPView Sysinternals application or the alternate suggestion of using netstat (such as C:\> netstat -a -b -n) which should give you some idea of what's using port 3306.
It seems to me you probably have another MySQL server installed which is conflicting with the port XAMPP is trying to use.
As in the log, when you installed the SQL Server it "reserverd" the same port that your MySQL was using
2017-11-17 13:40:06 13304 [ERROR] Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306 ?
You can change the MySql port in the my.ini file, which can be acessed by the Xampp Control Panel, under "config".
Or, you can change de SQL Server Port, following this tutorial: https://www.syskit.com/blog/change-sql-server-port/

Amazon EC2, mysql aborting start because InnoDB: mmap (x bytes) failed; errno 12 (Cont.)

I have the same configuration with the following link - Wordpress running on AWS EC2 micro instance with Linux AMI, so implement the answers recommended by adding swapfile. It seems not working properly still. It keeps crashing every 3 - 5 days, so I have to restart it by "sudo service mysqld restart".
Amazon EC2, mysql aborting start because InnoDB: mmap (x bytes) failed; errno 12
my configuration /etc/my.cnf looks like this:
[mysqld]
datadir=/var/lib/mysql
socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
# Disabling symbolic-links is recommended to prevent assorted security risks
symbolic-links=0
# Settings user and group are ignored when systemd is used.
# If you need to run mysqld under a different user or group,
# customize your systemd unit file for mysqld according to the
# instructions in http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Systemd
innodb_buffer_pool_size = 128M
[mysqld_safe]
log-error=/var/log/mysqld.log
pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid
And free -m looks like this.
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 996 134 861 0 2 16
-/+ buffers/cache: 116 880
Swap: 1023 40 983
I attach /var/log/mysqld.log of past few days. Appreciated to receive recommendations.

MySQL doesn't display errors in error log

After having some trouble with installing a UDF in MySQL (Cannot install MySQL UDF) I'm facing another issue. When executing the function I get a "Lost connection to MySQL server during query" error (errno 2013). Error logging is enabled, but I can't see any error messages in the log file. The my.ini configuration file has the following log properties under mysqld:
log-output=FILE
general-log=0
general_log_file="mysql-general-log-file.log"
slow-query-log=1
slow_query_log_file="mysql-slow-query-log-file.log"
long_query_time=10
log="mysql.log"
# Error Logging.
log-error="mysql-error.log"
log-warnings=2
And here is the mysql-error.log output:
140314 21:29:25 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled.
140314 21:29:25 InnoDB: The InnoDB memory heap is disabled

I've also tried to debug the UDF itself by adding a few print commands to the code, e.g.
fprintf(stderr, "%s", "Launching JVM\n");
fflush(stderr);
Unfortunately this didn't work either. Which other options do I have to track down the issue?

The server 'crashes' and restarts at seemingly random intervals although it does happen around 7:30 am (+/- 30 minutes) more then other times it seems.
There are no cron jobs running anywhere near this time.
Any help would be appreciated!

Drop your ib_log files and Put innodb_force_recovery=6 in config file and restart your mysql it will resolve
Turns out that from time to time, memory usage would spike (I'm guessing that this was because of a dramatic spike in apache child processes) and this would cause memory pressure. The out-of-memory killer would choose mysql to close down, because it was (usually) the biggest memory user in the system.
So to fix, I
got more memory
fine tuned Apache to control the number of child processes that were spun up.

MySQL 5.5 not shutting down on mac

I have a problem shutting down the mysql server that is running on my mac. I tried from ActivityMonitor, from terminal using "mysqladmin shutdown" , kill -9 , and many other proposed ways but it always restarts within a second. Error log doesnt show anything strange:
