mvvmcross Custom binding supressed by Linking optimisation to device - mvvmcross

In the Touch version of my app, I've defined a custom binding for the 'selected' property on a UIButton and use that to mimic the ToggleButton behaviour which is available in Android (to have the same UX in both platforms). This additional binding works perfectly fine in the simulator, but not when deploying to device. I've figured out already that this is again the famous linking optimisation problem as the binding does work when I change the Linker behaviour to 'don't link'.
Question, what do I need to include in the LinkerPleaseInclude to preserve my custom binding when deploying to device ? The UIButton in included there but only using the TouchUpInside event which therefore works fine on device - just my custom binding doesn't.
Thx

It's pretty simple. Without any code example I can only suggest you search for UIButton in the LinkerPleaseInclude file and make sure you have something like:
var button = new UIButton();
button.Select += (s,a) => {}
Just need to reference the event so the compiler knows about it...

Property '_popup' does not exist on type 'Marker<any>'

So, I am building a map using angular and leaflet. One of the things that I use is leaflet.markercluster. When i click on the cluster I want the popup content of a random marker of a cluster to be written somewhere. To access the popup content of some random cluster I did this:
cluster.getAllChildMarkers()[0]._popup._content
and got an error: Property '_popup' does not exist on type 'Marker'.
But the thing is, if I do ng serve first time it failes to compile, but if I change anything and save all it compiles sucessfully with the errors and I can see the content of the popup.
Also, if I do console.log(cluster.getAllChildMarkers()[0]) and I inspect element on webpage I get the regular console log of a marker with latlng andall other atributtes, including _popup.
Does anybody know why does typescript/vscode log an error, but html console sees it normally?
Because TypeScript is more strict than JavaScript, it warns you of potential issues that may actually work just fine once transpiled in JS.
In this specific case, this is simply due to the pseudo private properties ("_popup" follows the usual JS libraries convention of using an underscore _ prefix to denote pseudo private members) not being declared on the TS types of Leaflet, since you are not expected to use them.
But of course this is still technically valid in JS, so you can tell the TS compiler "I know what I am doing" by using the //#ts-ignore comment directive just above that line.
Or longer but much better, since you can remain under TS watch: use actual Leaflet API to achieve what you are doing:
getPopup() method
getContent() method
cluster.getAllChildMarkers()[0].getPopup()?.getContent()

How to use the Selection Reticle in CesiumJS

In any of the Cesium sandcastle examples with entities, clicking an entity shows a green square reticle type thing.
My question is, what is it? I want to implement something that behaves similarly but can't find anything about it in the code base or the documentation.
Note: I have disabled the selection widget in my application.
You can see the reticle thing I am talking about in the attached photo.
You mention:
Note: I have disabled the selection widget in my application.
I'm guessing you have a typo or something, because that green reticle is indeed the SelectionIndicator. It can be disabled by setting a constructor option on the Cesium.Viewer, namely:
var viewer = new Cesium.Viewer('cesiumContainer', {
selectionIndicator: false
});
Check your code to see if you really set this option correctly in the constructor.
After the viewer is constructed, it's a bit late to try to turn it off, since it binds into events generated by viewer.selectedEntity changing values. By default, the selectedEntity gets the SelectionIndicator unless the viewer was constructed without one.

Bind TreeView.SelectedItem to a property in the ViewModel in a WinRT app

In my Windows Store XAML app I’m using the TreeView control from the WinRTXamlToolkit and I’m attempting to two-way bind the SelectedItem property to a property on a ViewModel.
Out of the box, the SelectedItem property is read only and this makes sense because the control supports Virtualization.
I have seen some folk work around this with things like attached properties, helper methods and so forth, a great example of which is seen in this question
WPF MVVM TreeView SelectedItem
But all of the questions/solutions are not based on WinRT and all of my attempts to rework the solution code for a WinRT app have proven fruitless.
So, my question is, is this possible in a WinRT app? What am I missing?
Thanks
I'd skip trying to come up with a bindable property globally for the view model and instead use the IsSelectedBindingPath and IsExpandedBindingPath properties of the TreeView as in the debugging tools' example of the control's usage. Then when you want to select/expand an item from the view model - use a method similar to SelectItem() in my view model where I essentially set IsExpanded/IsSelected to true in item/node view models throughout the path from the root of the view model tree and load the content of the tree if the nodes in the expected path do not exist.

How can you present modal UIViewControllers in MonoTouch using MvvmCross?

By adding IMvxModalTouchView to MyView, let the view become modal. But, I cannot change it at runtime. i.e. MyView must be modal every time. Is it possible to make it more flexible, let say, Show(MvxShowViewModelRequest view, bool isModal); ?
This area of MvvmCross is called "preesentation"
Other Mvvm frameworks may refer to it as "INavigationService"
Within MvvmCross, the presenter on each platform is 100% overrideable. Some examples and source code links are provided on http://slodge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/presenter-roundup.html
If you want to implement some custom navigation hint, then:
all ShowViewModel calls have an presentationHint parameter - https://github.com/MvvmCross/MvvmCross/blob/v3.1/Cirrious/Cirrious.MvvmCross/ViewModels/MvxNavigatingObject.cs#L40
the presenters receive these hints in the PresentationValues property of the MvxViewModelRequest in the Show call

StageWebView Lack on URLs with target="_blank"

is there any solution on StageWebView.loadURL(), how I can handle URLs in HTML Pages which have target="_blank"?
It's a mobile Android App. (TabbedViewApplication)
Hope someone can help.
Thx
One option is StageWebViewBridge.
StageWebViewBridge is an extended version of flash.media.StageWebView.
Extends loadString method with AS3 - JS communication.
-Extends Bitmap class, you can modify his x,y,alpha,rotation,visible, etc ( Version 1 Beta )
-Communicates Actionscript with Javascript.
-Communicates Javascript with Actionscript.
-Load local files and resources in a easy way.
-Extends loadString method with AS3 - JS communication.
-Extends loadString method to load local resources.
-Lets you take an SnapShot to use as the bitmapData of the bitmap.

I never worked with the StageWebView but I know it's really limited. When using an HTMLLoader, you can set a custom HTMLHost instance that specifies to use current HTMLLoader when opening to _blank. However, I don't think it's possible with StageWebView.
public class MyHTMLHost extends HTMLHost
{
public function MyHTMLHost(defaultBehaviors:Boolean=false)
{
super(defaultBehaviors);
}
override public function createWindow(windowCreateOptions:HTMLWindowCreateOptions):HTMLLoader
{
// all JS calls and HREFs to open a new window should use the existing window
return htmlLoader;
}
}
OK, so the only solution for this problem i could found is to load the page (containing the links) as String with the URLLoader and replace its specified parts. Finally loading it via StageWebView.loadString() method.
Problems occur when the Site is dynamic and contains JavaScript. I had also replace some relative links with absolute pathes.
That's it... but I really hope that adobe makes it possible to load those "_blank" links with the StageWebView.loadURL() method.
If you want to capture when a user clicks on a link inside your StageWebView add an an event listener for location changing event (LocationChangeEvent).
This LocationChangeEvent will include the URL they are going to and target. Then you can prevent the URL from loading, let it continue (by doing nothing) or handle it any other way including loading another URL.
If you want to load another URL first stop the loading with stageWebView.stop(). You should also call event.preventDefault(). You can then attempt to
Note: There is another event called locationChange that may be helpful.
As it was declared as an official bug, adobe QA Owner Sanjay C. added a comment: "Able to reproduce the issue with the attached project. Sending to IRB."
So, hope the next Build will come up with the fix wit it.
Best regards
