Exlude plugin assembly from CRM Dynamics solution - dynamics-crm-4

I'm trying to import a solution from a CRM 4.0 to a CRM 2013.
I having issues with the plugin assemblies. I don't really need them so I'm looking for a way to exclude or delete the plugins assemblies references from my solution.xml or customization.xml but I haven't figured it out yet.
Any ideas?

CRM 4.0 has no solutions (as the concept introduced with CRM 2011), if you export your customizations you can't import directly inside a CRM 2011/2013 environment, you need to upgrade the CRM instance.
You can remove the plugins using the plugin registration tool included inside the SDK (for CRM 4.0 you need to compile it first)

1- Update your CRM4 to CRM2011 (Rollup 15 or later)
2- Update your Instance CRM2011 to 2013
3- create a new solution that contains all customization you want to import
To exclude the plugin, download the SDK and uses this tool SDK\Bin\PluginRegistration.exe
i think this is the best way

Generate the EDMX backing files in Visual Studio 2019

After modifying an EDMX in Visual Studio 2019, it saves the EDMX properly but does not generate the C# files.
This is a database first functionality, is there a new trick in VS2019 to actually generate the C# files on save?
I was going to write a feedback to Microsoft but the same question is asked on their network. The issue was
VS 2019 Preview2-Preview 4.2 after saving EDMX code is not generated
It is marked as resolved for VS2019 16.1
https://github.com/aspnet/EntityFramework6/issues/705
It is also mentioned in the bug that you may run the custom tools manually on all the EDMX, and *.tt files to generate your templates. And this works.

Cannot create .edmx for MySql Database with mysql.data.entity.EF6 in Visual Studio

Recently i am trying to developing n-tier asp.net mvc application using Entity Framework with MySQL as the backend database. I wanted to use latest EntityFramework ie 6.9.9.0 version, so i downloaded sqlconnector package through "Nuget package Installer". These are the libraries that it installed for me:
mysql.data.dll(ver. 6.9.9.0)
mysql.data.entity.EF6(ver 6.9.9.0)
But i could not successfully create .edmx file for my project. During the final steps of creation of .edmx , it ends in the error. Here are the steps I applied:
1) first I selected '.net framework database provider' for mysql as in screenshot
2)Then I clicked 'next' button as in the screenshot
3)Finally i selected the tables for the database that i want to import in the entity data model before i click 'finish'
4) Click on "finish" button pops up "null object reference" error.
closing the error dialog displays the "add entity model" dialog again
The process creates a blank .edmx file with not a single DB tables on it.Also I find no errors in visual studio error list at the bottom of the window.
Could anyone share insight on what could be the possible issues here, i am really stuck at the first step of code my application and has already spent almost whole day searching for solution over the internet. I personally tried many alternatives seeking for solution too, but no luck so far. Anyone's help would be truly appreciated.
Thank you.
I somehow sensed that I am not using the right version of
EF tools for Visual Studio 2013
with corresponding version of MYSQL server installation and mysqlconnector for .net. So i downloaded and compared several versions of EF tools, MYSQL installer and MYSQL(Nuget package) for entity framework and finally found the right combination as follows:
Entity Framework 6.1.3 tools for Visual Studio 2013
MYSQL-installer-community-5.6.32.0.msi (you can find archived mysql
version in google)
MYSQL(Nuget package) for entity framework like in the screen shot below:
As it worked for me , i think mysql.data dll version and mysqlconnector for net that comes with MYSQL installer should match , i have them highlighted here in picture:
After the proper installation ,i finally got EDMX diagram loaded fully and correctly upon creating one.
P.S: after every un-installation of MYSQL server version that did not work for me, I used the useful tool (Advanced_Uninstaller11.exe) to clean all left out registry entries and here is the download link for the tool
enter link description here
I Hope that I have explained it clearly of the problem and its resolution. I could not make any of the above points or scenario clear, hope you would comment on it and i would try to explain more and better.
And Thank you #ErikEJ for your continued support on the problem.

Is it possible to generate/import an SSRS instance into a Visual Studio Project?

I have objects created in the web portal or using Report Builder. I would like everything to be source controlled in a project so I created a new project and I don't see an import wizard. I was hoping it would function the same way Analysis Services does and import all the assets from the server.
So is there a way to do this? Let's assume I have a lot of reports and datasets that I don't want to download manually.
I'm also open to a programmatic approach using C# to pull the files and add them to the project manually.
.rdl files (basically just XML) can be added to a Visual Studio package and then managed by your chosen source control solution.
You can download the .rdl from SSRS.
I believe you have to manually create the connections and datasets.

Where is the actual JavaScript stored for custom events in Dynamics CRM 4.0?

We're running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, and setting up custom JavaScript event handlers on several of our forms.
I'd like this JavaScript code to be kept under revision control, but I'm not aware of any way of deploying changes to these scripts, other than manually editing (or copy/pasting) the code in the Dynamics CRM entity customisation forms - which means it would be all too easy for someone to make changes to the running system and 'forget' to copy/paste their changes into the revision-controlled version.
I'm wondering if we can use something like a trigger or a FileSystemWatcher component to catch changes to these files and make sure they're stored in revision control - but I have no idea where to find the actual raw scripts. Are they stored somewhere in the MSCRM_CONFIG or MyCompany_MSCRM databases? Or on disk somewhere on the CRM server itself?
Thanks!
It's basically included in the FormXML which is the definition of all forms in your environment. It is stored as part of the organizationui.

The JavaScript is stored inside the database, I can't find the exact table for CRM 4.0 (here an article about CRM 2011 location just for your information http://kellyhoang.blogspot.com/2012/01/crm-2011-customization-decript-default.html)
There is also a tool for extracting the JavaScript from a CRM 4.0 instance, you can find it here:

(you can decompile it to look how it works, or ask the author directly)

Cannot find Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch Type in SSRS

I'm trying to create a report in SSRS (Visual Studio 2012) for Dynamics 2011 using fetchXML. I have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Report Authoring Extension (with SQL Server Data Tools support) but I cannot find the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch Type when I try to create a report, please, does any one have any suggestions?
Probably you are trying to create the report in some already existed project, I had the same issue with VS2010 in that case.
To make Fetch XML data source be visible you must create new project in Visual Studio. If all installations were successful, you must be able to create project with Business Intelligence/Report Server Project template, than create new report and in Report Data window (if it not appears automatically - just click on any place on report, go to View menu and find Report Data window) right click on Datasets, than pick "Use a dataset embeded in my report", click "New..." button near Data source drop down and there you should see Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch connection type.
Have no possibility to test this with VS2012, hope this will help.
As far as I know the latest version of SQL is SQL 2012 and BIDS for it is done using VS2010. So answer is quite simple - you would not be able to build a report using VS2012, you will have to use VS2010.
You're missing the Report Authoring Extensions. Install these and you'll have the FetchXML in the list.
If you've upgraded to a later CRM version since this post, just search on that version of extension installer instead (2013/2015/2016).
