I'm trying to try my hand out with Kamailio and Freeswitch.
I'm following the article listed here:
http://nil.uniza.sk/sip/kamailio-33-and-freeswitch-122-interconnection-voicemail-and-conference-services-debian-squeeze-60-64bit-tutorial
After adding the #!define statements, the article says to try to restart kamailio. When I do that, it fails with the error:
driver error: Access denied for user 'kamailio'#'localhost' (using password: YES)
I'm not sure which configuration file would contain the name of the default user that's used to log in to mysql. I did make the recommended changes to kamctlrc where you define the dbhost, dbname and the read write user etc. But none of those settings made reference to this user "kamailio". Not sure where to check.
Thanks.
Upon closer examination, I found that not only do I have an /etc/kamailio/kamailio.cfg file but /etc/kamailio/kamailio-advanced.cfg.
I made the changes the article suggested for kamailio.cfg in kamailio-advanced.cfg instead... and all is well. I was able to start the service again. I'm not sure if the database will work but at least I'm one step closer and now authentication is working.

Currently trying to install and start a MySQL Server on my machine. I'm using the original, actual Installer/Wizard. After filling out all fields, setting a root passwords and also telling to create one user with the password on localhost, the application fails at the step "Creating user accounts".
The log says:
Attempting to Add New MySQL Users Authentication to host 'localhost'
for user 'root' using method 'mysql_native_password' failed with
message: Access denied for user 'root'#'localhost' (using password:
YES) Ended configuration step: Creating user accounts.
Interesting to note, I've done this on a testing device as well as on a fresh virtual machine. I've used different data and names actually, but with the same result >_< What could I be doing principally wrong?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Sort of solved... I re-downloaded the database alone and manually created users. Guess that's the better way when being about to learn SQL properly anyways.
That error blocks your installation - although your MySQL server is running - it keeps you from installing the samples and examples. However, if you ignore installing these samples and examples, you can start MySQL Workbench. Moreover, the root account will be available with the password you have set during the install procedure (using Windows). Just launch the Workbench.
I went back to the Accounts and Roles tab> "edit" on my user and my account said I needed a user name> reentered User name> save> next> rename MySQL> Execute== ran fine and finished install.
This was the easy way with all other updates for co-programs done already.
For anyone still having trouble, a simple solution for me was making sure my user names and passwords did not contain special characters such as \ > ~, and so on. Characters such as # and ! should work fine.
Working with Symfony2.3.4 and Xampp with PHP 5.6.3.
Basically my goal is to prevent anyone from tampering with the database tables directly via any manager(for example: phpmyadmin which comes with xampp via localhost/phpmyadmin/)
I'd like to find a way to set a password.
I looked for an option in phpmyadmin to set some type of security and found none.
I tried to set a password for the database via the config interface provided by the AcmeDemoBundle which i've always used to set the parameters.yml, all that did was to throw this at my face:
SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'root'#'localhost' (using password: YES)
I need to know what I'm missing, is there a way to continue from here, or am I doing it wrong right from the beginning.
Remember: the goal is to let no one without authorization access the tables of the database in any way.
thank you
Thanks guys, I found what I needed here, answered by Anagio,
in the end what I had to do was to change the auth_type from config to http and voilá, a prompt appears when I hit localhost/phpmyadmin/ asking for user and pass.
Now all I have to do is to set a password for localhost and no one will be able to do anything to the database from outside the symfony app (hopefully)
I keep getting the error 1045(28000) when trying the mysql -u user -p command. The same password works in the MySQL Command Line Client and the server is running according to Workbench and Notifier. Not sure if this is related, but the only odd thing is that Notifier shows that I have two things running, both named "MySQL56_1" and when I try to stop the one where I don't have the option to "Configure Instance" or open the "SQL Editor", I get the error saying that it was "not found in the Windows Services".
EDIT: still have not solved this, all of the commands mentioned here yield error 1045 with the variations of mentioning either 'user'#'localhost' or 'ODBC'#'localhost'
The error 1045(28000) denoted for Access Denied to the user..
You are using different connection parameters in sql editor and cmd..
Cross check your username, password, socket file path, hostname and reconnect via cmd.
Thanks
Ok, if anyone is interested, here what worked for me. In Workbench, on the bottom left hand corner, there will be all these "schemas" listed, click on any one (they all show the same parameters in my case at least) and, using all the relevant parameters specified under Information>Session, play around with the commands listed in this chapter . Basically what user Aman Aggarwal was talking about, just took me a while to understand how this cross checking is done exactly.
This is a very strange issue that is similar to a few other people issue that has been going on for a while with MAMP.
I recently upgraded to MAMP2 and followed the instruction for the new phpMyAdmin and it work for a while but recently whenever I try to connect to MySQL I always get this error:
Error: Could not connect to MySQL server!
/Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'root'#'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect
So I changed the password to the correct one and changed all the files as per advised on this forum topic: http://forum.mamp.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11974.
But it did not work at all. I realized that there was two phpMyAdmin folder on my Mac one which is in
/Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/phpMyAdmin
and the other one in
Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/phpMyAdmin
In the first folder the config.inc.php as the correct credential for the user, however the second as root for both username and password. Obviously I tried to changed that but to no avail, the file is somehow always reverted to the default credential.
Did someone ever had this issue? is there a way to solve this?
I forgot to update this, if anyone is interested I got the fix for this (and I know many people had a similar issue).
In mamp.pro.global.preferences.plist is listed the encoded MySQLRootPassword, if like me you did update of your MAMP overrite this password field with your old one and there you have it, it works !
The phpMyAdmin configuration storage is not completely configured, some extended features have been deactivated. Find out why.
Or alternately go to 'Operations' tab of any database to set it up there..
I just joined a web dev project that uses Symfony 1.4 on CentOS 5.4 with MySQL. The server is down. My first task in the project is to get it back up. I don't know a lot about Symfony.
The Apache server log says
Access denied for user 'root'#'localhost' (using password: NO)
From all I can tell, the database access configuration is stored in
/var/www/html/<project name>/config/databases.yml
and for some reason, there's also some config in
/var/www/html/<project name>/config/propel.ini
There was no password for user root in either of the files, so I thought adding it and restarting Apache would finx the issue. It does not, the error message stays the same. I might be looking at the wrong config files, but I can't find any other.
Any wild guesses how to fix this ?
Cheers,
ssc
OK, I know now what I did wrong: The password indeed has to be added to databases.yml, but whenever the configuration is changed, the symfony cache needs to be cleared by executing
./symfony cc
in the /var/www/html/<project name>/ folder.
You are right, the database config file is stored at /WEB/project/config/databases.yml
You can also try to run the configure:database command from the symfony command line tool.
php symfony configure:database "mysql:host=DBHOST;dbname=DBNAME" USER PASS
