"display: table-cell" has no constistent alignment - html

Once between the div tags, an HTML tag (eg headings, breaks), the contents are no longer align the same. Example: Html.DisplayFor (...) should end always justified. How can this be fixed?
<div class="table">
<div class="row">
<div class="cell">
<h3>Heading 1</h3>
<hr />
<div class="row">
<div class="cell">Label 1</div>
<div class="cell">Html.DisplayFor(...)</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="cell">Label 2 with much more Text</div>
<div class="cell">Html.DisplayFor(...)</div>
</div>
<br />
<h3>Heading 2</h3>
<hr />
<div class="row">
<div class="cell">Label 3 with Text</div>
<div class="cell">Html.TextBoxFor(...)</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="cell">
...
</div>
</div>
</div>
CSS:
div .table {
display: table;
width: 100%;
}
div .cell {
display: table-cell;
padding: 0.3em;
}
div .row {
display: table-row;
}
It should actually look more like this (red line):

Its because you break the flow of the layout by not adhering to only using a table->row/cell structure but by injecting div and hr elements in the middle of it.
You could simply add a width to the first column:
.row .cell .row .cell:first-child{
width:200px;
}

You can use flexbox.
When you use display: flex it align flex-items side-by-side because of its default flex-position: row. But to make footerpart-container and footerparttwo-container flex items you need to wrap both HTML element into a container(footer-parent-container)
.footer-parent-container {
display: flex;
gap: 1rem;
}
.footerpart-container {
background-color: #ffffff;
height: auto;
display: flex;
}
.footerparttwo-container {

}

Why is 'max-width' ignored onto table-cell?

Why does the max-width get ignored in the following table, once I add display: table-row-group to header and body?
.table {
display: table;
}
.row {
display: table-row;
}
.cell {
display: table-cell;
padding: 5px;
border: 1px solid black;
}
.header,
.body {
display: table-row-group;
}
<div class="table">
<div class="header">
<div class="row">
<div class="cell" style="max-width: 4em;">
content content content content content
</div>
<div class="cell">

</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="cell">

</div>
<div class="cell">

</div>
</div>
<div class="body">
<div class="row">

</div>
</div>
</div>
I want to control the min/max-size of cells into body, setting min-/max-width on the head cells (that doesn't necessarily need two rows as in the snippet).
What is happening here? What prevents the max-width to work?
“the effect of 'min-width' and 'max-width' on tables, inline tables, table cells, table columns, and column groups is undefined.” See definition of max-width in the CSS 2.1 spec.

Align content of boxes vertically in responsive grid (set same height for all boxes)

I am using a responsive grid and I want each box to have all its contents vertically aligned. Each box will have a different position of the content (structure). In this case (for now), I have two boxes and they work fine separately. When I include them in the grid, the grid is no longer responsive.
For example, the first box will look like this:
and the second box will look like this:
So, far... I have built the main grid and I am trying to align the items using the first box template. I am trying to find the best solution. I am guessing the change is related to the .example-feature-staggered-row:

I am trying to think of the best solution here. For example. the table might be a solution. Using two columns (for the first template). Each column will have two rows where the items (text and images) will be vertically aligned. The rows of the first column will have a sub-table. Each sub-table will have two columns. The first column will have the image. The second column will have two rows with the text. Is that a good idea? Or is it better to find a more responsive way to achieve that?
Separately, the boxes are fine. I just cannot make them work in the grid without problems (the height is not the same. If I make it the same, the content is not always vertically aligned).
With your current setup, you will need to add media queries at certain breakpoints to restyle the content.
You have giving a lot of elements fixed widths and set them to flex: 0 0 auto; which will stop them from shrinking below their given width.
Also, you could benefit from simplifying your code.
You can create this layout with flex containers. Below is a rough example of what this might look like.
.container {
display: -webkit-box;
display: -ms-flexbox;
display: flex;
-ms-flex-wrap: wrap;
flex-wrap: wrap;
}
.wrap {
display: -webkit-box;
display: -ms-flexbox;
display: flex;
-ms-flex-pack: distribute;
justify-content: space-around;
-webkit-box-align: center;
-ms-flex-align: center;
align-items: center;
-ms-flex-wrap: wrap;
flex-wrap: wrap;
width: calc(50% - 40px);
background: #e9f0e1;
min-height: 100px;
min-width: 100px;
margin: 20px;
}
.one {
background: #f09880;
}
.three {
background: #e9f0e1;
}
.content {
padding: 10px;
margin: 10px;
background: seagreen;
color: white;
}
#media screen and (max-width: 500px) {
.wrap {
display: block;

Bootstrap cells with equal height

I have the following
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-6">
<div class = "box-cell">
<p>
Slightly short text
</p>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-6">
<div class = "box-cell">
<p>
Text that<br>literally<br>spans<br>4 lines
</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
and css
.box-cell
{
position: relative;
margin: 3px;
border-style: groove ridge ridge groove;
border-width: 3px;
background-size: cover;
}
So the problem that I am facing is that one of the cells is usually taller than the other.IS there any way for me to equalize how much height each cell takes up?
Searching didn't yield me which property I can manipulate to get same height :(
Here is jsfiddle
However in this fiddle I can not get them to be side by side to prove my point
EDIT: I guess I didn't specify it properly. I would like to have the borders be as tall as the tallest cell. So all the examples provided here actually take out the borders and instead color the background. If I do that then yes it gives illusion of every cell being the same, but I would like there to be a border of same height.
I tried replicating what it sounds like you are looking for.
I would recommend you mess around with flexbox since it seems to do exactly what you are looking for.
<div class="myc">
<div class="col">
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
</div>
<div class="col">
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
<p>Text of some sorts</p>
</div>
</div>
And for the CSS
.myc {
display: flex;
}
.col {
background-color: yellow;
margin-right: 20px;
}
.row {
display: -webkit-box;
display: -webkit-flex;
display: -ms-flexbox;
display: flex;
}
.row > [class*='col-'] {
display: flex;
flex-direction: column;
}

1- you need to add text in span tag.
2- Or take text in one line .

Vertical Alignment of multiple lines

I know this question has been asked before. However, I do not seem to find my mistake.
I set up a plnkr. I try to align some text vertically, whereas the the stuff that needs to be aligned is nested into multiple divs.
<div class="news col-md-12" id="detailsView" >
<div class="col-md-8 ">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-5 widthInDetails">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-8" id="newsDetails">
Hello I am fine and how are your (I am good too)
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
and in my CSS I have this.
.news{
background-color:black;
line-height:200px;
width:200px;
height:200px;
display:table;
}
#newsDetails{
display:table-cell;
vertical-align:middle;
}
So basically I have I lineheight given from the outer div with class="news". I want the the nested div to be aligned vertically. Is there any way to do this?

If you want to use the display: table property, you should set it in the parent node, like:
<div class="news col-md-12" id="detailsView" >
<div class="col-md-8 ">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-5 widthInDetails">
<div id="newsParent" class="row">
<div class="col-md-8" id="newsDetails">
Hello I am fine and how are your (I am good too)
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
.news{
background-color:black;
width:200px;
height:200px;
}
#newsParent {
display:table;
}
#newsDetails{
height: 200px;
display:table-cell;
vertical-align:middle;
}
Give it a try and let me know if it helps!
You can make wrapper display: table and child div display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle;. find the below jsfiddle demo.
HTML
<div class="news col-md-12" id="detailsView" >
<div class="col-md-8 ">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-5 widthInDetails">
<div class="row newsDetailswrap">
<div class="col-md-8" id="newsDetails">
Hello I am fine and how are you?</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
CSS
.newsDetailswrap{
background: red;
height: 100px;
display:table;
}
#newsDetails{
display: table-cell;
vertical-align: middle;
}
