Chrome allows to set multiple tabs as home - that is very helpful. But sometimes, one just wants to quickly open a chrome window to quickly google a question, without all preset tabs opening. Is there a command line option to open without opening any preset tabs that could be used to create a second link? So that on my desktop I would have open chrome with hometabs open and open chrome without any tabs open?

Delete file "Local State" that you can find in C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
Open Chrome, it will ask if you want to restore previous tabs: DO NOT yet
Open Chrome Task Manager (More Tools menu)
Restore previous tabs (History menu)
Kill the Mo*herfu**er tab that is hijacking your Chrome using Chrome Task Manager

WARNING: This doesn't work unless you have some tabs open already!
If you are on Windows 7-8 you can right click on the Chrome icon in the Taskbar and click "New Window"/"New Incognito Window", not sure about Linux or Mac though or older versions of Windows.
I wasn't able to see a command line switch that seemed to match your requirements, had a quick search here: http://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/

On a mac, you can...
"Force Quit" Chrome/Chromium. (One way is to right/two-finger-click the icon in the App Bar, then hold the alt-key down, choose Force Quit.)
You will be asked to report or ignore, just choose ignore.
Restart Chrome/Chromium. It will either start with only an empty window, or ask if you want to reopen the previous session.

I am still figuring out if this is a Chrome issue or a problem with my laptop.
Setup
I am running Windows 10, latest Chrome.
Quad core i7, 16Gb of ram.
My development environment includes WebPack with hot re-load. I am developing in Vue (v2) so I installed the Vue development tools.
Problem
After some time Chrome will start freezing but it does register my actions.
When I click outside the window, it will process all actions (at least visually) and some times unfreeze. This happen to both the main window and developer tools (on a separate window). I should also mention that not only the page inner window freezes but also Chrome as a whole. So if I click on a tab it is still froze until I click outside, moment it will change the tab.
Basically what I am describing is that any visual update only happens once one of the windows (chrome or developer tools) is unselected from the Window environment.
Help
Does any one experienced something similar and what was the resolution?
May this be a hardware (GPU) issue?
This is a new computer and I am deciding if I should return base on this alone. Only thing holding me back is the fact this issue is only happening with Chrome atm.

Is there a global shortcut to open an incognito window of Chrome?
I know that there is ctrl+shift+n but that only works in the context of Chrome – not while in other applications.
I also know that you can drag the order of the applications in the task bar and then use win+1 (to 9) in order to switch the focus to that application. Playing around with the keyboard, I've also noticed that you can open a window, too, with win+shift+1 … but that's not incognito. (win+ctrl+1 opens the application in admin mode – which is a nice discovery but also not what I'm looking for)
I'm searching for a solution that
doesn't involve the mouse and
doesn't mess with my alt+tab order,
preferably involving the task bar (but that's optional).
What about creating a shortcut of Chrome, in properties append chrome --incognito into target textbox and assign a shorcut key?
I've got two solutions – but they're more like workarounds than solutions:
(1) win+alt+1 opens the taskbar context menu (I think it's also called "jump menu") and from there I can select it with ↓.
(2) I can also open the "Run" window by pressing win+r and then type chrome --incognito the first time // hit enter on subsequent times.
But can anyone find something better?

I was working on web project, and when i pushed my changes, my files disappeared because of bad manipulations. Now, I've lost my files, but my page is still Firefox memory, so I could copy the HTML code. But I cannot copy the CSS ! I've tried to recover deleted file using Quetek's utility, but the files are corrupted, and in the css I could see "heade", "master"... But not my CSS. Please help me !! I didn't closed Firefox. You have just discovered why all developers need to use source control (Git, Mercurial, Subversion, etc.)
That said, this isn't really a programming question and doesn't fit well with Stack Overflow's guidelines. The latest version of FireFox (the only one I've checked) lets you choose "Web Developer" from the menu, then click on the "Style Editor" choice on the top of the newly opened area. In there, you can see the css resources it is using.
Firefox has a built in Inspector tool you can access by right-clicking an element and selecting Inspect Element from the drop down menu that appears.
From here you can select Style Editor menu to the right of the Inspector tab to view the css of the rendered page

Today I noticed I was getting an AJAX loaded "Shopping Assistant" in my Google Search results:
This isn't a Google thing from what I can tell, looks like I have some spyware in my Chrome browser. Anybody know how to remove? (not listed in the Extension)
In my case it was Translate selection 1.2 addon.
Try to open a console (f12 or ctrl+shift+i) into a simple page (that is not chrome store or start page) and start disabling extensions one by one then refresh the page.
This is how it looks like when the thing is still on.
This is a spyware that comes with Flash Video Downloader extension in chrome. UnInstall Flash Video downloader that should get rid of this.
I found the same malware in Translate Selection 1.3 extension. It seems that Chrome Web Store is full of complaints about the problem: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/translate-selection/goanabmlmgfinmjohhepcpffcnkeobjm/reviews.
If you have Superfish WindowShopper extension installed, perform following steps:
Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar, select Tools and then click on Extensions.
In the Extensions tab, remove (by clicking on the Recycle Bin) the Superfish WindowShopper extension.
The BetterChrome extension also contains this. Uncheck "Enable SuperFish Suggestions" in the BeterChrome options.

I installed Vimium for my Chrome browser to use but I noticed that Chrome shortcut keys take higher priority.
For instance, if I try <C-u>, instead of scrolling a page up, I see the source code of the page.
How can I configure Chrome or Vimium to use Vimium shortcuts rather than built-in Chrome shortcuts?
You currently cannot map any default Chrome shortcut keys defined already. That is unfortunately one limitation of Google Chrome Extensions API. The Extension team is familiar with such restrictions, and they have it on their queue for future APIs.
In the meantime, try to pick a shortcut that doesn't conflict.
Hope that kinda helped.
Actually David's answer should work somehow. Some may misunderstood, these commands are added in Vimium's Options Settings.
By the way, if you want to add and as scrolling full page up and down, just add the following in the "Custom Key Mapping":
unmap <c-f>
map <c-f> scrollFullPageDown
unmap <c-b>
map <c-b> scrollFullPageUp
This works for me. Enjoy!
First unmap the previous shortcut,
unmap <C-u>
map <C-u> scrollPageDown
