Limiting user access to my website - OpenShift - openshift

I have my php app hosted on OpenShift. I would want to test it with a limited set of users. So is there a native way to limit access to my website using their IP address or I will have to settle with .htaccess.
Thanks for help :)

Currently, we don't have a built-in-tool that will restrict who can view your app. I would suggest using a login page and/or the .htaccess method you mentioned.
If your looking to add collaborators to your application then I would suggest checking out: https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/OpenShift_Online/2.0/html/User_Guide/chap-Members.html

Let netlify use a subdomain thats also used on a different site

(how) is this possible:
I have 2 netlify sites main-app and sub-app.
main-app has a custom domain (www.main.com).
I now want to make the 2nd site sub-app using the custom domain sub.main.com but Netlify forbids this and notes that I already use the respecity domain main.com.
Any help?
It is possible to use subdomains. It is discussed in detail in their docs: https://docs.netlify.com/domains-https/custom-domains/
You already have a Netlify subdomain where your app is hosted, of type myapp.netlify.app. Now you need to point your subdomain to this instance. If you use for example Namecheap, you do it like this: https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/9776/2237/how-to-create-a-subdomain-for-my-domain/
Here is Netlify's instructions for doing this if you don't host your domain with them (aka not using Netlify DNS) https://docs.netlify.com/domains-https/custom-domains/configure-external-dns/
Similar DNS editing as in Namechrap will be seen on all other domain hosts. Once this is set up and has had time to propagate (give it 10 minutes to an hour) you proceed with hooking it up in Netlify. Your error message should now be gone.
Remember that you need different DNS records on your domain host for the main app and the sub app.
You can add a subdomain in the netlify panel and in you DNS manager / hosting provider add the records as CNAME with the domain provided by netlify.

How can i define javascript API domain on linkedin for cordova app

Good afternoon, I am creating an application in Cordova and wanted to use linkedin, but when I run my application, it says I need to set my domain javascript API in my Application linkedin. I've tried with the domain "file: ///" but gives the same error.
Does anyone have an idea or a solution to this problem?
Best Regards
LinkedIn (or any OAuth provider) requires your Web domain for security purposes (to know the right URL for authentication callbacks, and to help prevent random sites from trying to impersonate your application).
You must supply a domain such as www.yourdomainname.com or even your external IPv4 address will work, such as 55.55.12.12.

creating and uploading an application into facebook apps

I recently created a HTML5 game locally on my PC. Then, I went to the Facebook developer website and created a new application but it asks you about the link to the application.
My application is local and I don't have any hosting website. I tried to upload it via jsfiddle, but they didn't accept it as a valid link. What should I do?
I suggest reading the Getting Started manual on Facebook Help Center, that will get you started very well. Make sure you follow the steps and search for more information there.
You are not able to use JS Fiddle for your Facebook application, you need to have some website to host the application in. There are several cheap (some free) web hosts, which you can use for hosting. It is always better if you can buy your own web domain and host, this way it's guaranteed that it will work.
When you have your domain set up, you create a folder for your application on the FTP server and use the address (e.g. http://example.com/myapp/, https://example.com/myapp/) and place that address into the Canvas URL field on the configuration panel in Facebook Developers site.
The steps on how to continue from now on can be found from the manual linked above. Hopefully this helped you out!

Authenticating the application in embedded systems - Google Drive SDK

Is there any way to authenticate the application to use the Google Drive API without a native browser in an embedded system?
I'm looking for a solution to the user accepts and put your password and username using the OAuth2.0 without browser interactions... Is it possible?
My applications is build in Java Code.
Thanks in advance.
I am presently trying to do just this and I don't think it is possible because:
To authenticate in embedded device you need to use this process:
https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2ForDevices
the problem with this, is that it only accept limited range of scopes like:
which works OK
but when you try with scope like:
you get invalid_scope.
If you find a solution please let me know, I have the same problem my device is embedded, has no screen, and is not available with remote desktop of the like.
thanks for any feed back.
Use the OAuth 2 device flow which is designed for cases where a browser isn't available on the device. It allows the user to complete the login & authorization on a separate, more capable device (phone/tablet/laptop) where a browser is available.

Chrome Extension: log in in options page

i'm trying to make a chrome extension and I need the have an options page where the user is able to login. this way the extension knows who he is and can retrieve specific data from a server.
I'm not sure how to do this. Any one has a tutorial page or, better yet, a sample code?
thank you all!
A number of extensions use OAuth or OpenID for authentication. There is a tutorial for OAuth on code.google.com. You could also just use a username/password and make a XHR request to validate them. It really depends on the site and what authentication methods it offers.
You need an authentication engine... In other words you need to have a backend for your chrome extension which handles logging in and logging out. This is extremely easy to do. You can use a backend as a service if it's a small project (look at Parse or Firebase) or write your own backend using a framework like Ruby on Rails.
http://rubyonrails.org/; https://www.parse.com/; https://www.firebase.com/
Options pages are well documented on the official docs, including sample code.
