I'm trying to modify a theme to fit my design in Wordpress. I'm having a lot of trouble editing the menu bar in any way (apart from just colors).
I need to know how to achieve something like this: http://i.imgur.com/hPBo4is.png
Is it possible to just add the image to the menu bar and link certain areas? How can I get this into my website?
Thanks.
you have to crop image with whole black color without text portion and apply as background image to menu's "ul" tag. and then to display that text links you have to play with padding & margin.
thanks

I have built a simple website which includes a parallax image gallery with accompanying text descriptions for each image. The gallery is underlaid with a simple repeating pattern wallpaper.
The images have no margin between them. Their borders are covered by the text box which has a higher z-index, and the discrepancy between the scroll speed of the images and texts creates the parallax effect.
I would like to allow the background wallpaper (bottom layer) to also be the background of the textbox but to achieve this, I would need to make the middle layer (the image) transparent where it is obscured by the text box.
I have no idea where to start with this - I suspect my best bet is to just ignore this problem remove the wallpaper altogether but perhaps there is a straightforward answer to this issue?
The included image has a semi-transparent text-box and borders to give an idea of the layout and the problem I'm facing. Would appreciate any ideas. thanks

I want the homepage of my webpage to have a fixed background image in between the navbar and footer with a smaller carousel box in front of the background image. I've looked around and haven't found anything that looks like this. I kind of don't know where to start. Is it possible?
The tag that contains your entire main content add a CSS background to it
Below navbar
Till footer
background:url(link);
Then use your slider as you would normally
hello people of stack overflow. I have a picture on my website and i was wondering how i can enter text to the side of the photo. How would i then use css to customize the text font and color ext. If this is possible how would i also put text on the top of a picture? Right now i am using bootstrap, so my picture is in a specific "row". I will add the link to my test website if you are wondering what i mean by that.

I'm creating a very specific website design that I hope will turn out like this: http://prntscr.com/298r2m Problem is, coding isn't one of my strong points.
What I've got so far is this: http://prntscr.com/29i0ed and as you can see, the content background is under the Navigation menu and below image. I was wondering how to change that so that it ONLY starts at the point where the posts begin like in the picture above?
Also, does anyone know how to add a top and bottom border to the content background, instead of it looking like it's been cut off? I use blogger.
Cheers!
If I did, you just have two elements to the image and the body of your blog and being elements with different colors, I hope it helped you
