bookmarks bar doesn't zoom in with page zooming or minimal font setting in chrome.
So is there a way to increase font size for bookmarks bar?
In XP you can change font size of bookmarks and tabs of the chrome by changing the Message Box value in display properties menu;
Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> Advanced -> Item -> Message Box
There might be a way to change the chrome bookmark bar font size using the "chrome browser settings", but I'm not entirely sure. Alternatively, use the "OS settings". These settings are usually found in categories named: visual, appearance, theme, font size, etc... and can
be adjusted on either a specific or global scale.
OS (Windows 10)
Start > Settings > Make text size bigger
Start > Settings > Change the size of text, apps, and other items > Scale and layout
Start > Settings > Make everything bigger > Make everything bigger
On Google Chrome click on 3 dots on upper right hand corner and scroll down to settings. Settings>Advanced>Accessibility>Manage Accessibility Features>Display>Open Display Settings>Display Size>(Move bar towards middle of Tiny and Huge or to your liking)
For windows 11...
select windows start button
type font in search bar
choose "make text size bigger"
Use scale to increase text size according to your preference, select apply
THENNNN, use the magnifier (upper right icon in url bar or use CTRL and -) to reduce the size of your screen from 100%
Not ideal fix, but a temporary solution that worked for me!
Its so easy dear. Just type the following in your chrome browser:
chrome://flags
Now scroll down untill you find the option "HiDPI Support Windows".
Once you found the option change it from Default to Engable and then click on relunch now. You are done your from now your bookmark toolbar icons will be big.
Click on bookmarks.
On top of the bookmark list, click Bookmark Manager.
Then simply use the Ctrl and + or _ to increase or decrease font size.
Alternately, press Ctrl and roll the mouse wheel.

Texts resolution and Font size is quite low which is putting a lot of strain on my eyes.
I have tried using Edit->Preferences->fonts and colors and then changing the font sizes but its not working not even on restart.
I have also tried correcting the resolution by changing the High DPI Setting and then overriding the scaling performed by Application. In this case the resolution is increased but font becomes even smaller.
Can anyone tell me how to figure out this?
I was facing the same problem of blurried fonts and textures after installing MySQL Workbench 8.0 on my new Windows 10 machine. The following steps worked for me:
step 1: Fix blurried textures. Go to the MySQL Workbench installation folder (Windows start menu, type in "Workbench" and right click on the icon and select open file location). After that, right click "MySQL Workbench 8.0 CE" and select properties, switch to tab Compatibilityand click the button Change high DPI settings. In the lower part of this window, under High DPI scaling behaviourcheck the box (i.e. "override high DPI scaling behaviour") and select the scaling being performed by Application. Click OK to close the window and click on Apply and OK to save the settings and close the window. (screenshot: Properties Window of MySQL Workbench: overriding high DPI scaling by Application)
step 2: increase text size. In MySQL Workbench, click on Edit and Preferences. In the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the preferences window, click on 'Appearance' (located under the group 'Modeling'). On the right-hand side, the lower section lists the fonts (and sizes) of the respective objects. In order to change the font type and/or size, click on an element within the column "Font" and click it again (do not double click!). By default, the following two font type/size defintions are set: Tahoma 11 and Tahoma Bold 12. (screenshot: Workbench Preferences-window)
optional: zoom in. If you still feel unconfortable with the displayed text size, you can - at least in terms ERD models (and maybe some other aspects) - zoom in. Unfortunately, this is not implemented via clicking and holding CTRL and mouse wheel scrolling. Instead you can either use CTRL + + (or - for zooming out) or you can use the magnifier-icons in the "Bird's Eye" pane (usually upper left pane).
I work on Chrome with 2 to 3 tabs and the title of these are keep changing on various processes running in the background.
Now the situation is that the titles are quite long and I need to keep track of them.
By default, Chrome tab show the title through a label when we hover on it for more than 4 seconds. But the application changes title in less than that time. Now I can handle these by coding in our application, but other users can't do the same.
Is it possible to increase the width of the title of Chrome tabs?
Otherwise, is there a way to set Chrome to display the label instantly?
Google Canary this option is available, Google Canary (https://www.google.com/chrome/canary/) you can use Dev builds
after installation set the chrome flags
open Chrome canary and go to chrome://flags
Search for Scrollable TabStrip
From the drop-down menu next to Scrollable TabStrip, select Enabled there are 3 four additional options medium width, large width
use those
The only way to do this would be by touching the source code of Chrome, which I highly recommend to avoid.
Otherwise, I don't think it is possible to change the tab width settings/ display time of the hovering label from Chrome's settings.
Even using the experiments section of Chrome(using chrome://flags/), we can't do the same.
But do keep an eye on the upcoming updates if this feature ever comes up.
Google Chrome shows a gray circle cursor when dev tools is active. Why is this happening and how do I make this stop?
Nov 29th, 2017 Update:
Quick Update brought to you by #Howdy_McGee.
Chrome 62 you have to Add Device Type, there's no longer an option for Show Device Type.
Why is this happening?
As Randy Hall points out below "This cursor indicates a "touch", such as your finger, for emulating touch events in (the) Chrome browser."
July 20th, 2017 Update: (version 59.0.3071.115) Just checking in again, looks like the below is still valid even through a bunch of Chrome updates. They have changed the wording of Show device type to Add device type. I've changed the wording below, but the image does not reflect the change.
They have also changed the way the device type settings work, explained below.
Once in responsive mode (via F12, then ctrl + shift + m) you will need to select the settings section indicated by the 3 grey circles, then select Add device type. Once you do this, a new drop down will appear next to the dimensions area, select Mobile (no touch). I imagine they did this so that you don't have to keep it on desktop and adjust the user agent type to a mobile device as I've described below.
What do the Device Types mean?
As of today (July 20th, 2017), the same settings for device type exist (as shown in the image above), but they work a bit differently than previously before:
Mobile: Now scales the content on the page when resizing the window (to accurately simulate pixel density on a mobile device). The circle that replaces your mouse, simulates a screen touch action when clicking (full fledged mobile development / testing).
Mobile (no touch): Also scales the content on the page when resizing the window, but continues to use your regular mouse cursor for your click actions.
Desktop: Does not scale content, uses regular mouse cursor (full fledged desktop development / testing).
Desktop (touch): Also does not scale content, but replaces your regular mouse cursor with a circle that will simulate screen touches on click.
But I still want to emulate a specific mobile device...
There is still a way to override the user-agent with this Mobile (no touch) setting set. When you're looking at your console (brought up via F12), you'll see the 3 vertical circles there next to the console tab, click them and bring up Network Conditions. Within this section you'll see that User agent is set to Select Automatically, just turn this off and use the drop-down to change to the user-agent you want to emulate as. This will allow you to emulate as a specific mobile device.
This cursor indicates a "touch", such as your finger, for emulating touch events in Chrome browser.
In the dev tools window, click the settings (gear) button in the bottom right. Go to the Overrides tab and disable Emulate touch events.
I'm posting this here because it took me a LONG while to find it via searches, and I know others have been having the same issue.
Update via Paulo Manuel Santos' comment:
From Chrome 32 the Emulation is configured in a different place. This is how I get to it: Elements, press Esc, Emulation, Sensors, Emulate touch screen
At july 2017 this option calls Add device type:
On Chrome 50 it seems the Emulation option is not available..
My workaround was to add a custom device with the 'Mobile (no touch)' option..
When you click this ICON to activate (change to blue); The Grey Circle CURSOR will appear as representing finger touch for devices, and Deactivating this will simulate desktop version and Showing POINTER Cursor.
None of the above answers worked for me... So after clicking the aforementioned 3 dots in the bottom right corner, I selected Settings and then Restore defaults and reload
It's not a clean solution, but I had just to choose a new dock side position and then I was back to work
Just deselect the Toggle device toolbar

Is it possible to define a shortcut to increase/decrease size of code in PhpStorm, like what you can do in Notepad++ with CTRL+Mouse Wheel?
Enable CTRL+Mouse Wheel: Settings -> Editor -> Change font size (Zoom) with Ctrl+Mouse Wheel (check).
Specify exact font size: Settings -> Editor -> Colors & Fonts -> Font.
I am able to change my PHP Storm (version 8.0.3 or later) Fonts by
Go to File and then click Settings.
Form Left Side Menu, Select Editor --> General Tab
Check this box under Mouse section Change font size (zoom) with Ctrl_Mouse Wheel (see below pic).
30 Second Demo Here
in new version in this address
file > setting > Editor > general
check this item
Change font size (Zoom) with Ctrl+Mouse Wheel
Also you can use View → Enter Presentation Mode.
Default font size for this mode is 24.
You can change it here: Settings → Appearance → Presentation Mode → Font size
The pre-defined schemes are not editable. To change colors and fonts settings in such a scheme, create its copy.
So to change font size select any scheme of your choice. Save the "scheme" as a copy with a name like "scheme 2".
Now the default font size will be editable.
In MacOS, you should navigate to the PhpStorm -> Preferences -> Editor -> General screen and check/uncheck the "Change font size (Zoom) with Command + Mouse Wheel" checkbox. I unchecked because I don't like it but maybe you do.
Moreover, you can use the finder field in the top left corner of the same PhpStorm -> Preferences dialog. Type the word "size" in this field and you will see a couple of items on the right hand side of the dialog. There are the Editor Actions -> Decrease Font Size and Editor Actions -> Increase Font Size options.
Right click each of them and choose "Add Keyboard Shortcut". Finally, press the Ctrl and numerical plus in case of Increase and Ctrl and numerical minus in case of Decrease and press OK (if you have numerical part of your keyboard).
In PhpStorm 2020.2.1 go to :
Settings -> Editor-> Font
That's it
Switching beetween Editors and zooming text during presentations or so could be complicated.
If you used to do it like in notepad++ than maybe this helps if you use win:
^NumpadAdd::
send,^{WheelUp}
return
the complete script you could find here: https://gist.github.com/sl5net/7170280#file-gistfile1-txt
The tools are opened on the bottom of the chrome window per default. This is a rather bad choice for a wide screen display since there is plenty of empty space to the right but not much vertical space to spare. Unfortunately, I have found no way to reposition the tools. I would like to have them on the side, similar to firebug.
The only option similar to what I want is to detach the dev tools and place chrome and the tools window side-by-side. This is not very convenient for quickly alt-tabbing from the IDE to the browser and back though, so an "integrated" solution would be nice.
Chrome 46 or newer
Click the vertical ellipsis button ( ⋮ ) then choose the desired docking option.
Chrome 45 or older
Long-hold the dock icon in the top right. It pops up an option to change the docking
To change the split between the HTML and CSS panels, go in DevTools to Settings (F1) > General > Appearance > Panel Layout.
Place your pointer on the dock button and long click it (some seconds) or right & left mouse click depending on the browser version.
Keyboard shortcut to toggle the docking position (side/bottom)
CTRL+SHIFT+D
And there are many shortcuts you can see them by going to
Settings » Shortcuts, as displayed here:
Alternatively, use CTRL + ? to go to the settings, from there one can reach the "Shortcuts" sub-item on the left or use the Official reference.
Looks like this is on the bottom left now as an icon with overlapping windows and the "Undock into separate window." tooltip.
After I have placed my dock to the right (see older answers), I still found the panels split vertically.
To split the panels horizontally - and even got more from your screen width - go to Settings (bottom right corner), and remove the check on 'Split panels vertically when docked to right'.
Now, you have all panels from left to right :p
As of october 2014, Version 39.0.2171.27 beta (64-bit)
I needed to go in the Chrome Web Developper pan into "Settings" and uncheck Split panels vertically when docked to right
If you use Windows, there some shortcuts, while devtools are opened:
Pressing Ctrl+Shift+D will dock all devtools to left, right, bottom in turn.
Press Ctrl+Shift+F if your JS console disappeared, and you want it docked back to bottom within dev tools.
The Version 56.0.2924.87 which I am in now, Undocks the DevTools automatically if you are NOT in a desktop. Otherwise Open a NEW new Chrome tab and Inspect to Dock the DevTools back into the window.
In addition, if you want to see Sources and Console on one window, go to:
"Customize and control DevTools -> "Show console drawer"
You can also see it here at the right corner:
