Can I use xdg-mime in nitrous? - nitrousio

I started to use nitrous for a new project and I love it.
However, I need to call xdg-mime to automatically open html files in a browser. Apparently, xdg-mime is not installed by default on nitrous machines.
Is it possible to install it?

How can i upgrade my Octave version to the latest one?

I have the 4.0.3 Octave version on my machine.
and I would like to upgrade my version using windows.
Can someone tell me please the steps to follow?
Thanks.
If you want to remove v4.0.3, the complete answer will depend on how you installed that version in the first place.
If you used an executable installer, then there should be an 'uninstall' option available. On Windows 10, you can sometimes right click on the shortcut in the startmenu and an Uninstall option will appear. Otherwise you can follow the directions at this link to navigate through the Settings to the Apps & Features window, which lists everything installed and will provide an Uninstall option.
If you used a zip package to 'install' Octave 4.0.3 just by unzipping it to a folder on your hard drive, then no uninstall process is necessary. you can just delete the folder and shortcuts manually.
You can have multiple octave versions installed next to each other, the folders will have version numbers to prevent them from overwriting themselves.
To install the latest version (5.1.0 as of this answer, although 5.2.0 will be released very soon):
You can find the installation files for Windows by going to the Octave download page and clicking 'Windows'. There will be several file options there. Most people choose the first one (octave-5.1.0-w64-installer.exe) for 64bit systems. You can just download that or one of the other .exe versions, execute that program, and follow the prompts. If for some reason you would rather download a zip package and do a manual setup, I suggest you follow the instructions at the Octave for Microsoft Windows Wiki page to make sure everything is configured correctly.

Browser Automation using Bash On Ubuntu On Windows

We have a strong regression automation suite developed with Watir for Web Apps and Calabash for IOS and Android and so far our executions are happening on Mac OS.
We want to use RVM on Windows 10 so enabled bash feature on Windows 10 and installed RVM using Bash On Ubuntu On Windows. Using this installed RVM I would like to trigger the browsers installed on my Windows. I would like to know whether I am trying something that is possible ?
Just to check, I tried to trigger chrome browser in irb.
I placed my chrome driver below.
I have set my path and find the same below
On triggering chrome browser in irb I am getting the below error even though the path is set correct.
Selenium::WebDriver::Error::WebDriverError: Unable to find chromedriver.
I would like to know whether trying to trigger the browser installed on my windows environment through the Bash On Ubuntu On Windows terminal is practically possible attempt or not ? If so, please let me know where the disconnect had happened in my setup.
Below are the versions I am installed with .
rvm 1.29.3 (latest)
ruby-2.2.7
watir (6.8.4)
The error you are getting generally indicates that you have installed the chromedriver.exe file into a directory that is not on your path. Either move the file to a directory that is in the default path, or modify the path to add the directory with chromedriver.exe to the path.
Generally it's best to do that with the default path set by Windows on boot-up lest you have to have some batchfile that is run to alter the path before running IRB or a script that runs your tests.
Use the webdrivers gem. It ensures you always have the latest chromedriver.exe in your ~/.webdrivers directory, by downloading the newest version as necessary. It directs the Ruby code to use that driver regardless of what other chromedriver is on your system and whether it is or isn't on PATH.

Can I pack chrome a standalone installation package(exe/dmg) with some specific extensions in it

I developed a chrome extension to solve a specific problem. I'm going to distribute it. But I dont want to my user down a chrome then install a extension and change chrome setting in order to unforbid my extension.
I'd like to pack the whole thing into one installation execution. Users just need to download the installation program, install it, then they get a special chrome with my extension on it. Everything is done.
How can I do this?

hot reload in jekyll not working

I've installed jekyll 3.1.6 on Mint 17 (ubuntu 14.4) with
ruby 2.2 + python 2.7
My browsers are Chromium and Firefox
I think I've tried every trick I can find on the internet, but it still won't auto-reload, even though the terminal does say that auto-regeneration has been enabled and with each file content change and save, the terminal logs the change and tells me it's been done. But I'm still forced to refresh a page manually to see the changes.
Open to any and all suggestions.
Jekyll auto-generation future(Using jekyll server) automatically change/modify the files on _site folder only, it does not refresh browser windows automatically, you have to use grunt for that. There are already many of NPM packages and Repo for that.

PhpStorm is not starting up

I just downloaded PhpStorm 5 on my quite fresh ubuntu.
During the first start I installed a couple of plug-ins.
Now - after the installation of those plug-ins - PhpStorm is not starting up anymore.
No splash screen is showing up. No error gets written on the terminal:
gue#ubuntu:~$ phpstorm
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode)
gue#ubuntu:~$
What shall I do with that drunken sailor?
I can't find any logfiles, no configuration file/directory in my home directory.
Since I'm used to Eclipse I've no clue where to look for a trace in this IntelliJ derivate...
If you're on Windows deleting the following directory helped me:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\JetBrains\
Some plug-ins can cause problems and prevent IDE from starting, if it happens, you should delete the directory containing plug-in manually. Location of this directory depends on the system and product, details are available in the FAQ.
For PhpStorm on Linux it would be ~/.WebIde50/config/plugins.
This happend to me too, I had created a custom vmoptions file, and entered incorrect values. I fixed it by deleting it in ~/.WebIde50/phpstorm.vmoptions
i had the same problem , i fixed it just with removing the file C:\Users\.PhpStorm2016.2
In linux, I fixed it by deleting vmoptions file of PhpStorm and then launching it again:
mv ~/.config/JetBrains/PhpStorm*/phpstorm64.vmoptions ~/.config/JetBrains/PhpStorm*/__phpstorm64.vmoptions
It might be possible if openjdk is installed then phpstorm not opened.
So remove first then follow steps that given in below link.
I solve the problem same way.
wiki.jetbrains.net/intellij/Installing_and_running_PHPStorm_on_Ubuntu
Here is how you fix this: Rename C:\Users\USERNAME.PhpStorm2016.3 to something else (anything, like PhpStorm2016.whatever) , it will start the program if you click on the phpStorm icon, then choose to import settings, and you're good to go ;)
I am using PhpStorm2020.2.1. I referred to Configuration directory. I accessed the folder %AppData%\JetBrains\PhpStorm2020.2, renamed it just in case I may need some files in future.
Voila! I can start my PhpStorm2020.2.1 again!
I had this problem yesterday and my OS is windows 10. phpStorm suddenly did not work and when I click on it nothing happened. I just downloaded JDK from this link (https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase-downloads.html) and after installation, I set the environment value in the system setting for my java directory. You can use this link to set the environment (https://javatutorial.net/set-java-home-windows-10)
For me I had to remove all cache for the IDE located in:
~/.cache/JetBrains/
I have changed the VMOptions under the Help menu on MacOS and it just would not start up again. It just silently failed every time. I found the file at /Applications/PhpStorm.app/Contents/MacOS/phpstorm and ran it in the terminal, which gave me an output with the following error:
Invalid ReservedCodeCacheSize=3072M. Must be at most 2048M.
Luckily, it also gave me the path to the VMOptions file in one of the rows of the output, parseVMOptions: /Users/barnabas/Library/Application Support/JetBrains/PhpStorm2022.3/phpstorm.vmoptions in my case, so I could change it back to a valid configuration. Crisis averted.
Simple
Go to your task manager
end any task on php-storm
and restart the ide again
it will work
Open Terminal Linux Ubuntu 20.10
YOU#USER:~$ cd ~/.config
YOU#USER:~/.config$ ls
Obs: Locate the >>> JetBrains <<< folder, after that delete it your default app settings will disappear more it will open again
YOU#USER:~/.config$ sudo rm -rf JetBrains/
Open PHPSTORM
