How To Model Exception In UML Activity Diagram in Visual Paradigm - exception

I am a student trying to create an activity diagram for our join chat room use case for our chat module project. I am stuck trying to model an exception wherein when the chat server went down at any step of the join chat basic flow, it will display an error "unable to contact server". I've been trying to do this for 4 hours now. I am trying to model this in Visual Paradigm. Please help. Thanks in advance!

Have you try to use ExceptionHandler? I attached a old example made under Modelio (I am not really familiar with visual ....)

Creating a report in Delphi 10.4 Community Edition

I'm learning programming and creating an app to save all orders and offers that was given to customers. App is pretty simple, but i want to have a feature, that will print a report with data from several tables in database (like customer's personal data, my company data, items that was ordered etc). Unfortunately, I can't find any free module for that purpose - got only PrintDAT, but as far as I know, there is no option to mix data from several tables. Is there any free module, that would work with in this situation? Eventually, I was thinking about creating an HTML document with all the data, but I don't know if there is an easy way to create PDF document from HTML created in Delphi (if this is even possible)?
Thanks in advance.
embarcadero community edition should come with Fast Report VCL and FMX ,
*.pdf reports are possible

How to use Flutter, MongoDB and Docker together in app development?

With a colleague of mine, we're building an app written in Dart with Flutter on Android Studio. We've arrived at the point where we need to start integrating a database to collect and send user filled data, and so we chose MongoDB which will be integrated into Docker so that our app is ready to function on multiple devices. Since we will have many users and each of them will be entering their own data, we have a lot of parameters to take into account so we're creating a JSON skeleton to map out the structure of what data goes where. The obstacle is we have no clue what the best way is to approach MongoDB-Docker integration with our Android Studio code, as it is our first time using MongoDB and Docker. Any good tips or resources that could put us on the right track ? Thank you
Hi your real question should be : what will you use in beetween those two ? You should (I guess) create an API to simplify and securise your user-DB interactions.
If you're not familiar with those principles a quick reasearch should help.
If you want to continue without any API, you should put many effort into having a VERY clean code as your app will have a lot of information inside its source code and proceed to create a documentation. Also you could use an ORM.

Building a Xamarin Forms App using MySQL

I would like to build a mobile version of a household financial planner web app that I built with MVC, C#, MS SQL, and Entity Framework. What I've learned from my research is that I should communicate with the database for this project using API endpoints. I am familiar with setting up a WebAPI with MS SQL, but not MySQL. Also, the little work that I have done in that field was based on only retrieving information from the database. Not adding application users, roles, or any rows to tables. The web application that I'm trying to base this Xamarin application is at http://abacus.travismcdaniel.me
I have been unable to find a guide our tutorial that teaches what I need to know. In fact, most of the guides I've found are so outdated that I can't follow the steps because the things they say to do simply don't exist anymore.
So my question is this: It's there a n up-to-date guide anywhere that can walk me through the basics of setting up a MySQL database to use with the app that I'm building, then walk me through writing stored procedures, seeing up WebAPI endpoints for those stored procedures, and then incorporating all of that into a Xamarin Forms application?
If there isn't one single guide that does this, are there a few (still up-to-date) that I can work through to get the same information? Thank you in advance.

Shindig + OAuth + Persistance

I have read a good dozen of articles (including ones from stockoverflow), slides and tried samples from the Apache. I'm a back-end Java developer, still struggling with client side part.
My task is simply a build To-Do widget and be able to store data created "Tasks" in db. Could anyone share some good example how to do this? In seems server-side REST works, nevertheless I don't know how to connect this a widget so that is doesn't persist data.
Thank you in advance.

What can I do to trace what a program does, not having the source code and the support from the program supplier

I have now to deal with a program called FDT whose support is no longer taken by the company I am working for but still using the same program. Now I need to insert new orders into the program from the site which I can get in xml, csv or some other from magento. I am trying to automate this process. All work in the office are done on the basis of this software FDT like checking the out of stock, bills printing and others.
I am now thinking to use profiler to trace events. I would like to know what processing does the program do when we place some order in it. I am not a good user of Profiler, I would like some suggestions if it is possible know what tables it effects, what columns it updates or writes to.
Above it is a new order no. the program generates. which is a unique id and is integer. I am not able to know the pattern. I do have a test server where I can make changes and trial and error is no problem.
Some suggestions on how shall I proceed or at least start going on would be appreciated.
I think most important would be to trace the T-sql but again which events and what filter to use?
I am sorry if it a stupid question, I am trying to learn .. source code and support is not an option.
This question has too many parts- how to do trace, how to deal with an application post-support-contract, how to reverse engineer an app and even if that is a good idea (and sometimes it's the only idea available) I'd re-ask this as a series of narrow technical question or ask it on Programmers (after reading their FAQ they only like certain questions)
Yup, been there done that. In large organizations, normally these tasks fall to technies who don't weild the awesome power of the budget and can't personal go negotiate a new contract with the original vendor. I assume you have food bills to pay and can't tell your supervisor, "well, I ain't do doing nothing until we get a support contract"
Step 0 Diagram the tables - work out the entity relationships and assembly a data dictionary (one that explains the motivation of each table and column, not just the name and data type)
Step 1 Attach the profiler to an active instance of SQL 2008. If you have a specific question about SQL Profiler, open a new question. One hint-- if you are attached to a multi-user instance, filter down to just your own user (the one in the connection string)
http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2009/08/03/sql-server-introduction-to-sql-server-2008-profiler-2/
Step 2
Do an action in the application and watch what SQL was emitted. If it is SQL, you can copy and paste it to Management studio so you can diagram the query and run your own test executions. If it is a stored proc, you go read the source code of the stored procedure. If the stored procedure is encrypted, it may or may not be possible to decrypt it. Scenarios when decrypting the code is fairly defensible is when you aren't redistributing it and the supporting company isn't there.
Step 3
Once you understand the app, you can write reports, or more likey, you want to record either new transactions or old transactions differently.
If the app is written in .net or java, you can decompile it and read the code. Creating a custom build from that source isn't going to be fun. A more likely thing to happen is you will create an application that targets the same tables or possibly export all the data out of the original app and into a new bespoke one.
