WampServer mySQL - mysql

I have a mySQL database problem - I'm a newbie to this:
I've installed WAMP Server and I'm able to log into localhost then phpmyadmin to give the screen below (right image). But I get No xNo Privileges in red -- I see from online examples that I should see "Create new database":
Suggestions are welcome.
[I have no password and the login is just 'local']

You are getting this message because you have made up a userid and password.
MySQL's initial installation state has ONE userid defined called root.
This is the case regardless of how you installed MySQL, unless the install asks you for a password at installation time.
That is the SUPER USER and can do anything.
By default (again which ever way you install MySQL) this root user has no password.
So login to phpMyAdmin using :-
username = root
password = (leave this blank, empty)
Press the Login button.
You will now be loged in as root.
PS.
Its a good idea to add a password to this username, BUT PLEASE DONT FORGET IT, as recovery can be a pain.

Access denied for user error during install phpmyadmin

I want to install phpmyadmin on Ubuntu 20.04. I take the password 2 times (first I tryed root password but after I tryed leave the field empty or use other password). Any time I error like screen of my error. I found this tutorial.
Author of this article wrote:
From the prompt, run the following command to disable the Validate
Password component. Note that this won’t actually uninstall it, but
just stop the component from being loaded on your MySQL server:
But this component is disable and yet I still have this error. How can I solve my problem
The error message you posted is different from the Validate Password one in the tutorial. I suggest re-enabling the option that you disabled.
Your error is showing that you (or someone) has changed the password of the MySQL user that Ubuntu (and Debian) uses for administrative purposes (debian-sys-maint). Details of that user are documented in README.Debian and the password is stored on disk in /etc/mysql/debian.cnf.
To resolve this, you can simply set the password to a known value and edit the configuration file to tell your system the new password.
Presumably, you're using MySQL 8.0.20, in which case you would connect through the command line client (mysql -u root -p) and run a command like this: ALTER USER 'debian-sys-maint'#'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'aReallyComplexPassword';.
On the chance that you're using MariaDB, the command is SET PASSWORD FOR 'root'#'localhost' = PASSWORD('aReallyComplexPassword');.
You won't need the password again after you put it in /etc/mysql/debian.cnf). Note that you'll need to edit the debian.cnf file as root or sudo.

What is the password entered during phpMyAdmin used for

I'm installing LAMP and don't understand the difference and/or use of the MySQL password v the phpMyAdmin password as entered during their respective installations. On the first dev box I built years ago I did this:
Installing MySQL I enter a password of 'pwd01'
Installing phpMyAdmin I enter a password of 'pwd01'
...And I could log into mysql as root/pwd01 and phpMyAdmin as root/pwd01 (i.e., the same password). That made sense. Given at the moment the only user configured in mysql is root/pwd01, phpmyadmin would have to use this to gain access. So what is the pwd02 password used for?
On the new dev box I'm building today I'm doing this:
Installing MySQL I enter a password of 'pwd01'
Installing phpMyAdmin I enter a password of 'pwd02'
... And I expected I would need to log into mysql with root/pwd01 and phpmyadmin with root/pwd02. But that is not the case. The login for phpmyadmin is still root/pwd01.
So my question is: How are the passwords being used? Is the pwd02 password silently used by phpmyadmin to connect to mysql and then pwd01 is used to access the databases? That doesn't really make sense to me.
(installation is on GNOME Ubuntu 16.04 using most recent versions of mysql and phpmyadmin)
phpMyAdmin have internal tables to manage query history and other stuffs, if the password that you bring during installation is wrong that tables was not created.
That internal tables doesn't affect the regular usage of phpMyAdmin.
See phpMyAdmin documentation
I think I have figured this out
Before the phpMyAdmin install there was no MySQL user named 'phpmyadmin'. Once I saw this user I was able to confirm that the password entered during phpMyAdmin installation (i.e., pwd02) is used by the phpmyadmin user to access MySQL. Proof worked by logging in from the command line
$ mysql -u root -p (pwd01 works but pwd02 does not)
$ mysql -u phpmyadmin -p (pwd02 works but pwd01 does not)
The phpMyAdmin installation dialog that asked for the password didn't make much sense when I first read it but does now.

How to create a new Database in MySQL Workbench 6.0?

I found this answer here, but still can't create a new Database.
I was also told that the default the password for root is blank, that didn't work, tried password, root etc :(
I'm stuck at the password screen.
The only thing I can gather is that the default ip I was given doesnt work.
Check that mysql is running on server 127.0.0.1
Check that mysql is
running on port 3306 (note: 3306 is the default, but this can be
changed)
According to this tutorial on their site, I need to check that mysql is running on the right server ip, but how do I even do that? :(
Looks like the first problem here is the login. If blank as password is not working for you. Try to set a password first and then proceed with next steps
Here are instructions to reset/set the password for first time
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/resetting-permissions.html
Or use
mysqladmin -u root password NEWPASSWORD
Once you are logged in you can easily create a database.

No privileges on wamp server phpmyadmin

I installed WAMP on Windows 8, and I'm having problems with MySQL privileges in phpMyAdmin.
Here, you can see the screenshot:
As you can see, there is no privileges tab, and I can't a create new database.
Solution:
Click on the User accounts tab
Click on a user account showing no privileges
Click on the Edit privileges link and tick all the check boxes
i just write UserName root and leave the password blank it work for me
Go to phpmyadmin webpage under user accounts tab and check if the root has all_privileges
and still if you are not able create db
Go to mysql console login as root and type: flush privileges;
now reload phpmyadmin page and you should be in synch
for no priviledge error, the solution is this:
It is not a file permission issue, the mysql user you logged in as doesn't have the right to create databases. You need to login as root for full permission, which I understand you are not. If I am not mistaken, the default password for "root" is empty (blank, nothing, ""), so try that. Once you are logged in as root in phpMyAdmin, you will be able to create databases or create another user with full permission.

Hey i just tried this and it worked type the "root" as username and the password you set during installation.
Worked
Your problem is your authentication. If you are accessing phpMyAdmin through WAMP, then you need to check the files in WAMP for the proper configuration.
You might be able to start the MySQL server with --skip-grant-tables option. Then access the Users tab in phpMyAdmin, and delete the password for root#localhost and root#127.0.0.1.
you just ned to enter the username as 'root' and leave password blank.
You will be able to create database.

Reset MAMP Pro username and password to root/root

I don't have a clue how I managed to do it, but at some point over the past few days I've managed to change my MAMP Pro username and password to something other than root:root. I've been working locally on a Wordpress build so it must have been something I did then but like I said I haven't a clue how I did it.
I'd like to change the MAMP settings back to their default ones, as now all of my old sites are not working locally (unless I were to go into the config files of every single one and change the mysql username and password). I've tried the 'reset to factory settings' function in MAMP Pro but it doesn't seem to have changed the username and password, and I can no longer connect to MySql or to the MAMP Webstart screen.
Would a clean install sort this out? Also, how would I go about changing my MySql username and password if I cannot connect to it through MAMP?
Assuming you still know the password, you can change the password back to root using
/Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysqladmin -u root -p password root
It'll prompt you to enter a password again, after which it'll be reset to root
