Using a .html file to run a .exe file from a browser - html

I wanna know how do I create a .html file to run a autorun.exe so that it will run on Mac OS and Windows. The autorun.exe is actually a file that execute all the flash content inside a CD.
Inside the CD there is content folder(where all the flash file is), fscommand folder, autorun.exe, autorun.inf, start.exe, and a .ico file.

NO you may get problems running an exe on MacOS. They require a win32 platform, which MacOS never has been ;)

HelpNDoc : Problem to generate CHM format help - Error HHC5010

I would like to generate a CHM help file with HelpNDoc.
But I get an error message:
HHC5010: Error: Cannot open "c:\users\philippeDocuments\HelpNDoc\Output\chm\creabook.chm". Compilation stopped.
I tried to create the CHM folder myself, in the "Output" folder but no result.
I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS and using Wine as a Windows emulator.
Maybe it's an authorization issue?
What is surprising is that I was able to generate the Word and html documentation.
Is someone can help me ?
I do not use Ubuntu or Wine as an environment and would like to recommend a machine with Windows for compiling CHM help files.
Despite the close connection of CHM help files with the Windows operating system, I do not want to completely exclude the possibility of compiling in a Wine environment.
My good old compiler Error Message Reference shows the following:
HHC5010: Cannot open ""file name"". Compilation stopped.
Problem: The specified file either doesn't exist, or another program has it open and is denying permission to read the file.
Result: The .chm file is corrupt and cannot be used.
Solution: If another program does have the file open, close the program. Otherwise either correct the name in your project file or remove it.
Please make sure that the CHM help file "c:\users\philippeDocuments\HelpNDoc\Output\chm\creabook.chm" is not open in Wine's HTML help viewer by using e.g. wine hh creabook.chm.
Please also try if you can open another CHM help file in your environment. Maybe you have to specify a windows path, e.g.
wine hh.exe `winepatch -w /some/dir/somefile.chm`
As mentioned above, this is somewhat problematic outside of Windows.

What is the best way to open html files from vscode when using WSL?

Specifically, I am using the open-in-browser extension, but when I go to open my html for a given project it fails to load in the browser. I have tried putting my repo in both a straight Linux directory as well as in a folder in c/mnt/Users... Is there a way around this?

This extension does not serve the file from the filesystem, but rather serves it from a local webserver.
I was rather looking for something that would convert the WSL filepath into the corresponding windows filepath, but this works just as well if not better, for webdev purposes.

Texture Packer won't run

I downloaded texture packer here https://code.google.com/p/libgdx-texturepacker-gui/downloads/detail?name=gdx-texturepacker-3.2.0.zip&can=2&q=
When I run the .jar file it just shuts down before even displaying the gui. Is anyone experiencing a similar problem? I am running OSX El Capitan.
The project is quite old so you can try it's successor: gdx-texture-packer-gui.

Do you have the Java runtime environment installed on your computer or just the Java development kit? I don't use the texture packer, but I had a similar problem with the Android SDK manager (it shut down before displaying the GUI) on a new computer where I had only installed the Java JDK. After installing the JRE then it worked fine.
Try this: Create a txt file and change its extension to ".bat". Right click to file and select modify. Copy this into file:
"java -jar "C:\Users\fat2019\Desktop\gdx-texturepacker-3.2.0\gdx-texturepacker.jar" Change path to your own where gdx-texturepacker.jar file is. Then save and close. Double click file.

I have the same problem. Using Windows 7 I have to do this:
Go to your java directory and copy your java path
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_40\bin
Right click on my computer,
Click properties
Go to "Advanced system settings" click ,
Click on Environment variables.
Go to System variables section, and you will find an entry called path.
Double click on path
Add a semicolon (;) to the end of that line
After the semicolon paste your path previously copied: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_40\bin
Apply
It must be enough. Your file should run at this point.
Double click it and go to the end, put a semicolon and paste your path, apply and ok. It should run now.
For Mac I downloaded the free version of https://www.codeandweb.com/texturepacker/download
This saves as .txt rather than .atlas for some reason.
After adding the animation I got errors in batch.draw ... casting to TextureRegion fixed that.
As always, I have no idea if this will cause problems later but there you go. Looks good so far. :)

Mac Chrome "Package Invalid Details: Could not load extension icon"

I'm running into an issue with my Chrome extension on OSX computers only. It used to work fine, but with my latest release, I have a lot of files that I organized into folders (css, js, and img). The extension installs just fine on Windows computers (which is the OS I created the extension on, Windows 7) but when I attempt to install on a Mac I get the message outlined below:
"Package is invalid. Details: 'Could not load extension icon 'img\icon_16.png'.'.
I know the image is there, but my guess is that because I did this on Windows, OSX doesn't like the pathing options. Any ideas how I can rectify this and still keep the folder organization?
Late, I'm aware, but the solution to this was the slash in img\, reversed it and it worked fine.
In my case the problem was that Google Play allows zip with .crx file.
So on first attempt it said me to zip my crx (after crx upload try), then it said that it needs manifest file inside the zip file.
After that everything was fine except of extension installation - it threw out error like "Could not load extension icon".
So the solution is to compress src directory (in which manifest file lays) without packing extension into crx.

.octaverc file on Windows XP

I place this code in octaverc in home directory which is setup previously. I am confused, in the book it talks about .octaverc with a dot in front and I just name my file octaverc. This code does not load on start and it should. If i execute this in command line it is fine but I want it to load automatically each time, and it does not. So my home directory is fine, and I have octaverc file in there with this code. What is wrong? I am on Windows XP.

Filenames beginning with a dot are hidden files on Unix/Linux. It's often used for configuration files. Apparently, the same name was kept for Windows (I only used it on Linux). You should try with a dot.
