download dxf file from website - html

i have .DXF, .DWG and .PDF files in a folder in my website. I have hyperlinks/anchor tags
that allow you to download these files by clicking on the link and you get the normal dialogue that asks you to download. It works for PDF and DWG but not for DXF. what could be causing the issue ?

i added the mime type (application/dxf) to IIS mime types and now the files can be downloaded.

How to open epubs in Chrome by link

I have a https:// (The server is a webdav server on IIS) link to an epub. Now I would like to open it in Chrome with the ePUB Reader Extention automatically by clicking on it. It works fine for PDFs but not for epubs. I do get an ERROR 404. But wenn I download the link with carotdav, I can get the epub file. SO THE LINK is valid.
Edit: IF I RENAME the file to Extention .RAR it I can download it with wget. But with Extention EPUB or EPU I also can not download it with wget.
How to proceed?
Thanks
I found the solution. in IIS on WINDOWS 10 Server there was the MIME-type missing. I had to define in MIMETYPEs the .epub as application/epub+zip. Now I can download and use the ePub Reader for Chrome Here_to_download to open the ePub in Chrome.

Problems downloading CHM file from web

My HTML is: a href="MyApp.chm">MyApp help file
When I go to this web page and click on the CHM link, the entire file is downloaded to my Downloads folder (Win10). At least the file size is identical to the uploaded file. While all the Content is visible (on the left of the CHM file) none of the CHM pages are visible. How can I see the entire CHM file? I'm guessing this is some kind of virus security.
This is a security restrictions from Microsoft when CHM files are downloaded from the Internet.
Here is how you can fix it for this file: right click on it in Windows Explorer, click Properties, and click the unblock button.

Attachments embedded inside the PDF file does not open/preview in Chrome pdf viewer

I have a PDF file having embedded documents attached.
I am not able to download the attachments or view the attachments embedded within the PDF file from Chrome.
However, I am able to download the attachments if i right click on the link and use 'save link as' menu to save the file.
What should I do ?
You're already doing it. The native Chrome PDF viewer simply doesn't support attachments. You can't even see that they're there. You have to download the file and open it in a more capable viewer.

Display JSX file in Chrome instead of downloading it

When I click a .JSX file in Chrome it downloads it. How can I display the .JSX file in the browser like a regular .JS file.
Example
If I browse http://todomvc.com/examples/react/#/ from Chrome and view the page source, there are a few .JSX script files loaded by this page. However, if I click any of those links, the .JSX file is downloaded rather than displayed in the browser.
You need to send the proper content headers. application/javascript
Check out Facebook's docs how to compile jsx on the fly in the browser.

how to show open/save dialog when linking to pdf files

I'm trying to link a pdf document from a static html file.
What I'm using is:
My pdf File
the open/save dialog comes up in firefox but not in IE7 or IE8.
I believe I have to change the MIME type but I don't know where to change it...
Since it works in Firefox I assume the file is actually there and accessible. In that case it depends on the browser settings how the download is handled. It might be that the download happens in the background because you setup that it should automatically download everything into a predefined folder (e.g. My Downloads/).
Check the IE settings to see where it puts downloads and check the folder to see if downloaded the file.
