I have recently downloaded Electro Server 5.4.1 from Electrotank, I have started the SAFEMODE.exe and I can see the console, I then log on to the server using the adobe AIR program, I then go and start the ChatLogger and it can't connect, has anyone got any ideas on why this isn't working?

I know this is an old question, and odds are you already got an answer to it on the Electrotank forums. Just in case somebody else has a similar problem: the ChatLogger code example requires the ChatLogger extension to be deployed.
You should also check that you can connect using one of the SimpleChat code examples which do not need any extension. If the Unity client works but AS3 doesn't, then you need to set your Flash global security settings to allow socket connections from that area of your hard drive.

To give some background, I'm an (unpaid) intern, and I'm unrelated to dealing with this kind of stuff. My employers wanted to update some pictures, and they did locally but didn't know how to upload the new version to the server.
I used the publish settings that were saved in Visual Studio from when the previous intern deployed the server (he was specialized in web site stuff) and it worked on deploy ... then I refreshed the page and I'm getting 502 server error.
Steps I have taken:
Connect to the VM and restart it - didn't solve it. it's using Microsoft server 2016.
Open the VM trough RDP, check if there are errors. There were 3 services not running, and I start them manually. One still isn't running, Downloaded Maps Manager. Ok... I google it and it's not a necessary service so I disable it. Now there are no errors and all services are running but I still am getting this error.
I tried pinging the IP of the server, and the URL itself and it works.
I believe it might be something to do with the load balancer, but I had one HTML class and nothing dealing with actually publishing stuff. If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. The only reason why I'm trying to fix this myself is that I didn't make some kind of backup, and I feel so stupid having taken the site down.
Edit: I've gone to "load balancing" and it says service unhealthy. I tried going to the IPs there and it brings me to the same 502 server error page. From what I've gathered this is a configuration error, it's impossible they messed something with the site itself, right? It did work that first time, and if I run it from Visual Studio it works on the local machine ...
I am wrapping headless chrome using the excellent ChromeHtmlToPDF library. This we are using to dynamically render PDFs from a website. This works locally under IIS express, and also works on the server when recompiled as a console app, so the technology works. However running under IIS, chrome always exits immediately and a error of "one or more parameters are invalid", is returned.
You can fix this by passing Chrome a custom user profile directory:
chrome.exe --user-data-dir="C:\NewChromeProfile" ...
This directory will be created by the account under which Chrome is running, and therefore the account will have the permissions it needs.
After many many hours looking into this I finally solved it by running it under my own user, the restricted IIS user, then comparing the activity logs generated by the excellent microsoft process monitor.
I tracked it down to file permissions on one directory: C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
The app pool user needs write + modify permissions to this directory. It's up to you if you feel this is an acceptable security risk; however for us it is, for now.
This is where headless chrome stores it's crashpad directory. No amount of parameter fiddling seems to be able to dissuade it of this. That seems to be a bug.
Hope this helps someone else, I couldn't find anything on this anywhere.
I have asked a similar question before here I sort of fixed it but im still facing a similar issue. Every time I try to load localhost, port 8095, I receive this error message in Google Chrome:
Google Chrome's connection attempt to localhost was rejected. The
website may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.
If there is a way to fix it, please tell me,
If not, please could someone inform me how to reset IIS to its original settings. Or if I can reset Windows Features so I can re-install ISS from scratch.
My website uses ASP with a connection to a SQL Server database (2012). Basic HTML pages also don't load under the URL, localhost:8095/
The servers were stopped because 2 services within administrative tools had stopped. World Wide Web Publishing Service and Web Management Service
Soo, I've decided to toy around a bit with GAE. Most of my previous experience with developing web-applications is with ASP.Net, so this java / eclipse-world is kinda unfamiliar to me.
I read around, and found out that I can configure my project to use a Google Cloud SQL instance when it's deployed at Google, while using a local MySQL database while running locally on my development server.
The problem I ran in to now is that I can simply not press "Ok" in the eclipse dialog for configuring my local MySQL database? Well - I can, but with no result. No error message, no window close, no nothing.
I'm not really sure what I am doing wrong, but was hoping some wiz in here who has more experience than me with GAE have had a similar problem and a solution?
I've attached a picture of my local MySQL configuration:

i have an asp.net-mvc website and I am trying to use the asp.net website administration tool but when i click in visual studio 2010 to launch it, it brings up a browser that says:
An error was encountered. Please return to the previous page and try again.
i can't click back but when i click on "How do i use this tool", i get this error:
Tool Has Timed Out
As a security measure, the Web Site Administration Tool times out after a period of inactivity. Changes to machine.config or web.config may also result in the tool needing to be restarted. To continue configuring your web site, restart the tool.
when i run my website, i am able to connect to the database fine and i am also able to insert new users through the default Account/LogOn interface.
Any suggestions on how to debug why i can't launch the admin tool ?
The project's path shouldn't contain #% or spaces
Could you please try the following:
Close your browser completely. Whether you are using IE or Firefox to test your website, you should make sure all browser windows are closed.
Kill the asp.net development server. It is located in your taskbar
Or, if you are hosting your site in IIS, force an iisreset.
Now try to run the Web Site Administration Tool again.
If it still does not work yet, could you please provide which browser you are using, and which OS and host?
The project's path shouldn't contain #% or spaces
My Project path was D:\Programming\C#\Tests\MVCApplication\
and that is what caused the problem.
I was getting the exact same error message with VS2010 .NET 4.0 framework. I created my solution in a subfolder titled "C#". Renaming the subfolder to CSharp fixed my problem.
I hope this helps.
