Is there a way to import only a chunk from a file with LOAD DATA in MySQL, or must I partition the file manually?
you have to partition the file manually.
because LOAD DATA will Load the complete file in table.
you can use :
LOAD DATA INFILE
...
IGNORE x LINES
DOCS
You would not be able to import only a chunk from a file. You would have to partition the file manually. Because load data will load the complete file.

I am trying to load data from excel files into a table in MySql. There are 400 excel files in .xlsx format.
I have successfully ingested one file into the table but the problem is that involves manually converting excel file into a csv file, saving it on a location and then running a query to load using LOAD LOCAL INFILE. How to do it for rest of the files.
How to load all the 400 .xlsx files in a folder without converting them manually to .csv files and then running the ingestion query one by one on them.Is there a way in MySql to do that. For example, any FOR Loop that goes through all the files and ingest them in the table.
Try bulk converting your XLSXs into CSVs using in2csv as found in csvkit.
## single file
in2csv file.xlsx > file.csv
## multiple files
for file in *.xlsx; do in2csv $file > $file.csv; done
Then import data into MySQL using LOAD LOCAL INFILE...
From loading multiple CSVs, use for file in *.csv; do... or see How to Import Multiple csv files into a MySQL Database.
I am trying to load data from files to MySQL, but the files don't have an extension. How can i load the files without specifying the file extension?
Use LOAD DATA INFILE, it doesn't require any file extension. You just name your file.
Both of the following would work fine:
LOAD DATA INFILE 'data.txt' INTO TABLE db2.my_table;
LOAD DATA INFILE 'data' INTO TABLE db2.my_table;
The command-line equivalent of LOAD DATA INFILE, mysqlimport, says this in its doc:
For each text file named on the command line, mysqlimport strips any extension from the file name and uses the result to determine the name of the table into which to import the file's contents. For example, files named patient.txt, patient.text, and patient all would be imported into a table named patient.
I believe we can't pass a directory to LOAD DATA INFILE without specifying the complete file name . I did a merge of all the files to a single file and then ingested the data
I am facing difficulty in importing a csv file in neo4j. I am working on Windows I have been trying this:
LOAD CSV WITH HEADERS FROM "file:c:/path/to/data.csv" as submissions create (a1:Submission {preview: submissions.preview, secure_media_embed: submissions.secure_media_embed, media: submissions.media, secure_media: submissions.secure_media, media_embed: submissions.media_embed})
Getting error:
URI is not hierarchical
Any suggestion on what I am doing wrong here, I have been following blogs and all suggests this
Edit the neo4j conf file (/etc/neo4j/neo4j.conf)
change the below line
dbms.directories.import=import
to
dbms.directories.import=/home/suyati/Downloads/
for loading a file from downloads.
In neo4j browser:
load csv with headers from "file:///1.csv" as row
(Your file should be there like /home/suyati/Downloads/1.csv)
Its will works fine.
We are trying to import as CSV file having some objects in PIMCORE. The file is having around 8000 records and size is around 8mb.
The problem is the file is not getting imported and giving some error. But when we are importing csv with file size less then 2mb, it is getting imported successfully.
Just wonderingly, is there any file size hard limit for .csv files import in Pimcore. If yes, then can we override it to accept larger file size?
Thanks in advance.
Hi you need to change some configuration in php.ini file after opening this file
change the line
upload_max_filesize=2M to upload_max_filesize=10M
then u can upload your file as php default is 2mb for uploading
Trying CSV import to Neo4j - doesn't seem to be working.
I'm loading a local file using the syntax:
LOAD CSV WITH HEADERS FROM "file:///location/local/my.csv" AS csvDoc
Am wondering if there's something wrong with my CSV file, or if there's some syntax problem here.
If you didn't read the title, the error is:
Couldn't load the external resource at: file:/location/local/my.csv
[Neo.TransientError.Statement.ExternalResourceFailure]
Neo4j seems to need a full path spec to get a file on the local system.
On linux or mac try
LOAD CSV FROM "file:/Users/you/location/local/my.csv"
On windows try
LOAD CSV FROM "file://c:/location/local/my.csv"
.
In the browser interface (Neo4j 3.0.3, MacOS 10.11) it looks like Neo4j prefixes your file path with $path_to_graph_database/import. So you could move your files there. If you are using a command line tool, then see this SO question.
Easy solution:
Once you choose your database location (in my case ReactomeGraphDB60)...
here I placed my ddbb
...go to that folder, and create inside a folder called "import".
Later in the cypher query write (as an example):
LOAD CSV WITH HEADERS FROM "file:///ILClasiffStruct.csv" AS row
CREATE (n:Interleukines)
SET n = row
