Google Maps Heatmap in Websharper? - google-maps

I'm evaluating Websharper, and the project I'm doing is all about heat maps in Google Maps.
Is it possible to use the Google Maps extension for Websharper to display heatmaps?
I'm not using Fusion tables.
There is hardly any documentation available, but through browsing IntelliFactory.WebSharper.Google.Maps in intellisense it doesn't look possible.

Please try the latest NuGet package. I have not yet been able to finish the upgrade yet, but this binary will give you just enough to get started with Heatmaps API. For example, see this. The Google Maps extension is now open-source with matching Bitbucket and GitHub repositories, contributions are very welcome.

Does Google Map API V3 provide solution to tracking moving assets without using mobile app?

there,
Does Google Map API V3 include solution that allows to track moving assets without us having to develop additional mobile apps (apps to be installed on each asset to be tracked)?
My company is a Google Maps APIs Premium plan business user and we have several .Net C# web pages already using Google Map API. And we are looking for the possibility to add a moving-assets-tracking feature on our website now, but we prefer not to get into mobile app developments for this.
If that possible? I googled, but not seeing much info on this. Could you please provide some detailed examples?
Thanks!
Asset tracking is possible with Google Maps Platform, but I don't think this is possible without installing an application to the asset being tracked as there
could be no means to track it.
By V3, if you are referring to JavaScript API then it is not possible.
You may read about asset tracking in this documentation:

Contacting sales team for Google Maps might be able to provide you something. But this is still unsure. The contact sales form can be found in the link above.

Google Maps Engine Portable: Offline Maps API?

I recently saw some information on GME Portable. It sounds like this tool allows not just GME API access, but also regular Maps and Earth API access offline?
I've recently developed the first stage of a demo for an academic software project with the Google Maps API. It seems to be working perfectly, but I've recently been informed that it needs to be useable in an always-offline mode. Thus, my goal is now to convert this app into something that can be always-offline, but still has the elegance of google maps.
Is it possible, with GME Portable (which I cannot find a download for...) or the regular Google Maps API to develop an application that does not need to http-request Google for the API every time it loads up?

Pure AS3 AIR map for mobile app

The iOS/Android app I am building requires a map component and just wondering what experts here would recommend using?
The app is being developed using pure AS3 and come across MapQuest. I only really need to be able to drop multiple markers and click markers for information. No directions, search etc.
Thanks
You might consider using a StageWebView instance with the HTML version of Google Maps.
You should be able to find helpful articles on the web. Sample: http://www.igorcosta.org/?p=350
Anyway, this might get tricky. :-/
I think Google Maps is still a good idea, but I’m not sure if it will work on mobile:

Beware that Google Maps API for Flash is deprecated.
Note (form Google Maps API page):
The Google Maps API for Flash has been officially deprecated as of September 2, 2011. The API will continue to work until September 2, 2014. We encourage you to migrate your code to version 3 of the Maps JavaScript API.
If not, you'll probably have to create a native extension.

How do I use my own maps instead of google maps?

Is it possible to use my own map instead of google maps for my app. How can I do that...Where should I look?
I think you need Open Street Maps (OSM). I have a little GPS app (Maverick Pro) on my Droid, and it can use 3 types of maps: google, bing, and "OSM". The latter seems to be what you need:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Main_Page
You would need a few things:
A source for data about your geography, in the US see the TIGER Line data published by the Census Bureau.
Software to render the geo data into maps that are visually meaningful, for example Mapnik. Use something like OpenLayers to generate the
movability and nice user features people expect.
Software to deliver the rendered maps efficiently to your users, ie TileCache.
There is a nice summary of this FOSS approach here: http://m.alistapart.com/articles/takecontrolofyourmaps
You may want to check out MapTiler, an open source map tiling tool for Google Maps (and other mapping systems) which runs on Windows and Mac OS X.
MapTiler will automate the tiling process for you through a simple GUI wizard, and in addition, once the tiling process is finished, it will also generate a simple HTML viewer where you can see the results immediately.
Custom Map Tile Overlays are quite an advanced topic in the Google Maps API (even the documentation will warn you in red about this). However, I am sure you will be able to use and understand the HTML viewer of MapTiler.
PostGIS, Geoserver, GeoWebCache, OpenLayers, + GeoEXT gets you all the software you need.
Data is up to you and some of the examples above are good ideas.

GTK interaction with Google maps

We are trying to make a GUI application in C using GTK that would use google maps api to download a map and find the shortest path between the source and the destination. We have implemented a mini web browser in our application using web toolkit. What is troubling me determining how would our application interact with the google maps api and how to go about running our algorithms(say Djikstra's) on the map the we downloaded.
Any help is appriciated.
You cannot do that with Google Maps as they do not offer a vector api to download.
However, you should look at OSM which provides that. libchamplain should be able to do that for you.
