I know my question sounds a little bit like a shopping request, but I honestly believe that many people could find it useful.
I've been looking for an automatic tool that converts Data Definition Language from MySQL dialect to Oracle dialect - the other way round would also be fine. I found “SQL Fairy” but I was unable to run it; probably because I'm not familiar with PERL.
Is there any free tool for Windows that converts MySQL DDL to Oracle DDL?
This site really worked for me and it can convert a bunch of different DDL commands from Oracle, MySql, M$ Sql Server, Sybase and others. http://www.sqlines.com/online.

I need to know whether there exists any technology to query both SQL Server and Oracle from single application and single query language.
From my limited understanding, and I could be misunderstanding your question, the technology you would use to query both MS SQL Server and Oracle would be:
SQL
...but with different connection strings:

T-SQL is the procedural language for SQL Server and Sybase; PL-SQL is Oracle's procedural language.
The two databases have relational theory and SQL in common, but they're very different.
Trying to unify two relational database products into one is a fool's errand.
If i got you correctly you want to develop an application that you can switch databases successfully without much effort. If you are developing using Java you can use Hibernate JPA. It makes it very easy to switch your Application from one database to another with minimal changes and without writing a single sql query. I hope this is what you were looking for.
Hibernate(NHibernate for dotnet) or equivalent is the only choice.

I am looking for some sample SQL exercises/query (preferred MySQL, or SQLServer)to practice. It would be great if it is with some sample database.
Could someone please point to sql exercises for Sakila Database( MySQL Sample Database) or exercises with some other sample database.
I have already came across

There is a lot out there! Here are a few nice ones that offer (online) practice:
SQLZOO - lets you practice interactively with SQL queries for different database management systems;
SQLCourse.com - also an interactive tutorial that lets you
practice SQL queries;
Introduction to Databases - a Stanford online course with a lot
of explanatory video lectures. It is much more theoretical, but also
provides the possibility to practice with the stuff that's taught. (This course seems now to have been chopped up into 5 different smaller courses.);
GalaXQL - another interactive SQL tutorial using SQLite;
SQL-EX - seems to provide SQL exercises, but requires an
account.

I have a large MySQL set of commands in a file (script) and I need to execute it on a Microsoft SQL Server 2008. I know there are few differences in both languages, despite the fact the base SQL is the same.
Is there any way how to convert a MySQL script to one that is executable on SQL Server? Or is there any migration app that can easily take the whole MySQL server and replicate everything on SQL Server 2008?

I tried Full Convert Enterprise with quite big success. Fast, easy and it did my job. Give it a try it may help you

I have a postgresql dump file and wants to convert it to MySQL. I google it and found pg2mysql which it converted successfully. However, I get errors when importing it to mysql. Looks like the formats are not compatible or wrong.
Any one can recommend?

The best solution for a migration would be a conversion tool like ESF data migration toolkit or openDBcopy that is open source.
According to your pastebin, the problem is with bigserial, as this is not a MySQL datatype. Some Googling came across this site which describes what bigserial is in Postgres context and other RDBMS datatype equivalents.
Looks like there are 3rd party libraries which will convert the data from Postgres to whichever RDMBS you choose, an example is easyfrom.net, if this doesn't fit your needs, just google around, as you are not the first person to need this functionality.
