I developed a Windows Phone 8 App. But when I try to add it to the store the option "Associate app to the store" does not show (could not post pics because i´m new here).
The options does not appear when I right click on the project AND it also does not work when I click on the Visual Studio 2012 menu PROJECT > STORE > (the option to associate the app shows as disabled)
Also I tried to add the tag manually on my WMAppManifest.xml file with no avail either. In this particular case, the app wont start in the emulator. It keeps on loading forever.
The current status to my developer account is "need verification" - meaning: I need to wait to the credit card transaction to pop out on my bank to input the secret code. Is that the case? Is that why I cant associate the app and why it does not show on Visual Studio 2012?
That menu is only meant for Windows 8 apps, not Windows Phone 8 apps. You should use http://dev.windowsphone.com for all your windows phone store activities. Again, VS2012 doesn't have any built-in integration with the WP8 store, just the Win8 store.

I cant find any information how to publish an uwp app to store which is created as xamarin.forms project. On my VS2015 proffesional version, I don't have any option as "store" as shown in this article below.

Does anybody know an easy way of doing this? Most important how to handle steps 5,6,7, 10, 11 in the article if there is no automated way.
EDIT: I can find this option on the Project->Store Menu above but all the options are grayed out as shown in the image below. I am connected with a developer account email on my VS2015.
my Project is a UWP project as shown below. And I have 2nd project as WP81. Right Click on WP81 project has Store menu option enabled. problem persist only for UWP project in the same solution.

Please first lest-click to select UWP or other Windows project, and then right-click project and select store option, you can find Create App Packages.... If this option is disabled or does not appear at all, check that the project is a UWP project.

As you just seen, the old web store of Windows Phone 8 could download apps and games from the Microsoft CDN server. Even with the new store Windows 10 you can still download apps from Microsoft CDN. There are website that somehow can download apps and games from the Microsoft CDN server such as: www.appx4fun.com www.windowscommunity.in and www.winphonehub.org to mention some.
Based upon everything I said, you have any idea of how to I can access the Microsoft CDN server to download apps without resorting to third-party stores? I would like to know how they do it.
NOTE: All apps can be downloaded manually using this address:http://cdn.marketplacecontent.windowsphone.com/public/the App ID?downloadname=name of the app.type of file(xap, appx or appxbundle)but for it to work you need to know the ID of the app you want to download and the type of file. How can I find the ID of the app? Know the ID is a very important information!

I have a device with a hard-coded NFC tag that opens an Android app based on an Android Application Record (AAR). Basically it calls an Android app to open with type android.com:pkg and payload com.something.Something.
I have researched on how to launch my Windows Phone app with that existing tag, but in the end I have only found that Windows Phone can launch an app if the NFC tag is adequately programmed to open the Windows Phone app ID or the custom protocol registered in my app. But it is very important that I use the existing NFC tag which opens the Android app ID.
What is curious is that my Windows 10 Mobile detects this existing NFC tag to want to open the app when I touch it with my phone and prompts me if I want to launch an app? But the app with that ID isn't installed so I did a research on how to put this app ID on my Windows Phone app but in the end I only got deployment errors.
Android Application Records (AAR) cannot be used to launch Windows apps. Windows uses a different system to launch apps (Launch Record). The main probem is that Windows uses a different scheme to identify apps (not a Java package name as Android does). Moreover, Windows apps cannot be set to be automatically launched based on the data contained in an AAR, hence, it's not possible to build some custom filter that starts your Windows app based on that AAR.
The workaround that's currently known seems to be what's discussed in Cross platform launch records with extra data on Windows Phone and Android. Though this requires modification of the data structures on the tag side.
We are building a simple we app that contains basic tasking functionality (tasks, appointments, etc.).
We want to integrate it with Windows Phone 8 native Calendar, without writing any apps but by making a some sort of webservice that could be added as an account to Windows phone (e.g. Facebook, Microsoft Live, Gmail - are all accounts that are added, thus the tasks are synced).
Yet what have I came up with was this:

This looks like a way to actively push and control the items on the Microsoft Live account, which would be fine but it requires that account to make it happen and an active module to do all the management.
We are looking forward to mimicking account behaviour and letting the phone do all the work :)
CalDAV was another keyword that popped up while searching but to my understanding windows phone doesn't support it.
Is it possible to forcefeed windows phone calendar objects to the phone without making a custom app?
Windows phone 8.1 supports cardav/caldav. You can put a custom dav server address selecting icloud account (it is a workaround) and editing the dav url. So you can set up a dav server in your app and synch calendars and contacts between your web app and the wp8 defaukt calendars and contacts app.
Initially I was able to install on my lumia 620 apps made using app studio.
Now I'm getting the following error.
"We haven’t been able to contact the Microsoft Corporation company account to make sure you can install this app. Make sure you’re connected to a mobile or WiFi network, and we’ll try again as soon as we can.
Unfortunately, it may take a couple of days before we can make that connection. If you continue to have trouble contact your company’s support person for help."

As well as various 3rd party QR Code readers you can use, you can also use Bing vision by doing the following. Open your camera on your Windows phone. Press the “Lenses” button Search icon( Sometimes the lenses button won’t be bound to your screen, you can do this by pressing the three dots and adding it to your bindings ) From here, a new menu will appear with various lenses listed. Choose Bing Vision.
Remember that by clicking “install” you download the app. By clicking Tap to open, you add the company certificate. It pushes you back to “Install company app” at that point, but you do not have to do it a second time. At this point, go to your app menu and you will see your app. Point the phone’s camera at the QR code that opens with the certificate link, and the phone will automatically scan it. Click “add” and the certificate is successfully installed once it returns to the original Install the certificate page.
