I wanted to have several different chrome instances on my PC.. and i had to install CHROME, CHROME CANARY, CHROMIUM versions separately, and did a good JOB !
however, does there exists built-in function for "CHROME" only, not to install other Chrome versions?

You might also look at Chrome's "User Profiles" feature. It's a really neat way to separate multiple Facebook/Gmail/etc accounts. It also keeps distinct bookmarks / browse history / autocomplete / cookies / etc. Pretty much the only thing shared is the build of Chrome that you are running.
And there's a really nice profile swapping icon in the upper right corner:
Navigate to "chrome://settings" --> "Users"
Update(2015): Note, that this feature was borked up recently, so to get the good behavior now requires setting some extra flags. See http://digiwonk.wonderhowto.com/how-to/get-back-avatars-chrome-switch-user-profiles-more-easily-0159605/

I am facing one issue on chrome search engine. Whenever I searched something it shows ads urls why?
Please check below the image. Can I add an ad blocker extension?
These 3 steps should solve your problem:
1. Download adwcleaner from here https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ and run it. After clean, restart PC.
2. Download free trial of Malewarebytes from here https://pl.malwarebytes.com/ and perform FULL SCAN.
3. Download HitmanPro from here https://www.hitmanpro.com/en-us/hmp.aspx and perform FULL SCAN. This is not freeware, but 30 days are free. Restart PC.
After these steps, your browser should be clean.
And, one for-future advice - before you will download something from the Internet, or install, read carefully while downloading/installing. Problem of your kind are usually because of installing some freeware software with hidden aggrements to install web browser's extensions, which are later hard to remove.

When I push a new version of a Chrome extension to the Chrome Web Store, how long will it take for the updated version to reach current users?
I pushed an update about six hours ago, but the extension hasn't updated for me yet. The Chrome docs are unclear.
Currently this defaults to 5 hours (based on the code here).
You can override this by launching chrome with the extensions-update-frequency command-line parameter, which is the frequency in seconds. And you can go to chrome://extensions, tick the Developer mode checkbox at the top right, then press the Update Extensions Now button
Chrome docs doesn't specify this 5 hour value though, so it could change in future versions without notice:
Every few hours, the browser checks whether any installed extensions
or apps have an update URL. For each one, it makes a request to that
URL looking for an update manifest XML file.
Restarting the browser and OS didn't help. Eventually, the extension updated itself, but it took at least 48 hours.

Here's my situation:
My client has an very large database. Currently, they fill out Inspection Forms by hand and manually put them into the database after the inspection. The forms are mostly checkboxes with very few areas for text input. They want to migrate from paper to tablets which are not specific to a single OS. When on the job site, the tablets will usually not be connected to the Internet.
I've been racking my brain for a few days trying to think of a solution. In what way could we record the offline data entry? Is there a way to synchronize the data when reaching an Internet source or would we be better off saving the current information and entering it into the db by hand when the inspectors are back at the office?
I was thinking to use HTML5/JS/PHP as it can easily be used on an android based, iPad, or Windows tablet and be cross compatible. I may be ruling out PHP as neither device should be able to run it locally.
Let me know if more information is needed.
Thanks in advance.
This might help you mate.

What is the name where the application shows messages of any updates available whenever the update is available?
Is it called web service?
For example, I have installed an antivirus (avast); sometimes a small popup message shows that an update is available.
I have very vague idea about it, it must be contacting the server periodically for checking the new updates are available or not.
I do not know what the application name is so I was not able to search.
It's called an auto-update software feature. It's part of the software itself usually - If you'd like to look at some API's regarding implementing them into your application, find out more here. WinSparkle is also something you could look into if your doing Windows development.
Those are vendor dependant solutions. It is usually not a separate software checking for updates. All they do is query a web service that replies with the 'current' version. At least as long as talking about MS-Windows. More elegant and efficient solutions exist in the Linux environment.

Read first please: This solution is intended for a limited amount of elder users and they certainly care more about installing "another thing" than about a silent installation (they don't even trust the internet and don't use it) and also they are fully aware that I will save that process for them; yes, I told them and they agreed. If you have a better solution, please share it with me.
Now the question: I need to silently install/copy Google Chrome in a Windows computer without internet, while installing another offline web application of mine provided in a CD. Is there any reliable portable version of Chrome?
In other words: I need to save the chrome installation process to the users, so they only need to execute a single installer.
Extra info: I'm currently using http://www.advancedinstaller.com/ to generate the installer.
Thank you.
