I am trying to build a basic web page for mobile devices, on my pc Chrome browser I see "???? ???? ???" every where Hebrew written. Here is my code:
<?php
?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="he">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="he" />
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="PHPEclipse 1.2.0" />
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.2.0/jquery.mobile-1.2.0.min.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/themes/light_blue.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.2.0/jquery.mobile.structure-1.2.0.min.css" />
<title>מניין</title>
</head>
<body>
<div id="wraper" data-role="header">בדיקה בדיקה הדיקה</div>
</body>
</html>
I am using eclipse IDE for developing. Any suggestions for how to solve this one?
Remove ; charset=UTF-8 and add <meta charset="iso-8859-8"> inside the document <head>.
what browser do you use?
on Chrome it works good

Can NSXMLParse parse xhtml? Or does it have other methods to parse?
Thank for any help.

Finally,I parsed it as html.It is ok.
I don't usually like asking other people to look at my code, but I'm so confused! This script only works in jsFiddle. When I try it elsewhere, it just comes up with the navy background.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en-gb" lang="en-gb" >

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" >
<style type="text/css">
.scr { height:700px; width:400px; background-color:navy;}
</style>
</head><body>
<div class="scr"><script type="text/javascript" src="//www.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://geoff.lequelenec.googlepages.com/stock_chart_gadget.xml&up_symbol=PPL&up_duration=v&synd=open&w=320&h=200&title=PPL+Corporation&border=%23ffffff%7C3px%2C1px+solid+%23999999&output=js"></script></div>
</body></html>
If you put the script link into a browser, it returns an error message:
Sorry! Gadget cannot be displayed until all required settings are provided.
So I would guess that you haven't fully configured it.
I am trying to download a webpage (printer web portal) with Watin but all I get is
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN">
<HTML lang="en">
<HEAD>
<TITLE></TITLE>
<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0">
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8">
<meta content="text/javascript" http-equiv="Content-Script-Type">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="default.css">
<script type="text/javascript" src="init.js"></script>
<noscript>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=js_error.xml">
</noscript>
</HEAD>
<BODY BGCOLOR="#ffffff" LINK="#000000" ALINK="#ff0000" VLINK="#000000" onload="init();location.replace('./system.xml');">
</BODY>
</HTML>
Even when I go to "View Page Source" in Firefox or IE, I don't get the "full" HTML. However, Firebug shows the full HTML.
Seems that the HTML is loaded by javascript afterwards, but how do I obtain this data?
This is some code I working on but now of JQuery Mobiles elements are working. It been a while since I have coded. Also if it important I am using Sumlime Text 2.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.8.2.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.3.0/jquery.mobile-1.3.0.min.js"></script>

<body>
<div date-role="page" data-theme="a">
<div date-role="header">
<!--Main Nav Bar-->

<h1>HOME</h1>
</div>
<div data-role="content">

</body>
</html>
From the looks of it, everything seems to be written correctly. The only thing that could be is that it does not use the correct HTML 5 doc type but html4. Jquery mobile is heavily reliant on HTML5
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>HTML5 Template</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
I have designed a site and my CSS is not loading in FF and IE. It works perfectly in Chrome and Safari. Can anyone help me Debug?
I am loading the CSS in the following way.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>site title::</title>
<!--CSS Files-->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheets/style.css" type="txt/css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheets/reset.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheets/dark.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
`
style.css is missing an e in its type attribute value (txt should be text).
