Can I get MOXy to not output an element when generating json? - json

An instance of my JAXB Object model contains an element that I want output when I generate Xml for the instance but not when I generate json
i.e I want
<release-group>
<type>Album</type>
<title>Fred</title>
</release-group>
and
"release-group" : {
"title" : "fred",
},
but have
"release-group" : {
"type" : "Album",
"title" : "fred"
},
Can I do this using the oxml.xml mapping file
This answer shows how I can do it for attributes using the transient keyword, Can I get MOXy to not output an attribute when generating json? but I cannot get that to work for an element.

Sorry problem solved, a bit of confusion on my part.
The example I gave above didn't actually match the true situation accurately, type was actually output as an attribute for Xml, but use of transient didnt work because it had been renamed in the JAXB

#XmlSchemaType(name = "anyURI")
protected String targetType;
So adding
<java-type name="ReleaseGroup">
<java-attributes>
<xml-transient java-attribute="targetType"/>
</java-attributes>

worked, previously I was incorrectly doing

Knime JSON transformer - Adding an attribute to a JSON object

I have converted some columns to JSON using the columns to json node. The output from that is:

I would like to add the value of the material property as a key to each JSON object. So, my desired output is:

I have tried entering the following expression in the JSON transformer node but all I get is a question mark in the new column it generates:
$Material$:{"Material":$Material$,"UOM":$UOM$,"EAN":$EAN$,"Description":$Description$}
I have also tried replacing the $Material$ with "Material" but got the same result.
How would I go about this, please?
In case you convert the Material column to String (for example with String Manipulator), you can easily configure the Columns to JSON:
As you can see the Data bound key is the important part.

I finally managed to solve this by a different method.
I split the JSON data into several columns, then used the join function to create a string in the required order. I put the resulting string through the string to JSON node to create the new JSON object.

Return nested JSON in AWS AppSync query

I'm quite new to AppSync (and GraphQL), in general, but I'm running into a strange issue when hooking up resolvers to our DynamoDB tables. Specifically, we have a nested Map structure for one of our item's attributes that is arbitrarily constructed (its complexity and form depends on the type of parent item) — a little something like this:

Our accompanying GraphQL type is the following:

The problem is we can't seem to get the Item.data field resolver to return a JSON object (even when we attach a separate field-level resolver to it on top of the general Query resolver). It always returns a String and, weirdly, if we change the expected field type to String!, the response will replace all : in data with =. We've tried everything with our response resolvers, including suggestions like How return JSON object from DynamoDB with appsync?, but we're completely stuck at this point.
Our current response resolver for our query has been reverted back to the standard response after none of the suggestions in the aforementioned post worked:

We're trying to avoid a situation where we need to include supporting types for each nest level in data (since it changes based on parent Item type and in cases like the example I gave it can have three or four tiers), and we thought changing the schema type to AWSJSON! would do the trick. I'm beginning to worry there's no way to get around rebuilding our base schema, though. Any suggestions to the contrary would be helpful!
P.S. I've noticed in the CloudWatch logs that the appropriate JSON response exists under the context.result.data response field, but somehow there's the following transformedTemplate (which, again, I find very unusual considering we're not applying any mapping template except to transform the result into valid JSON):

Apologies for the lengthy question, but I'm stumped.
AWSJSON is a JSON string type so you will always get back a string value (this is what your type definition must adhere to).
You could try to make a type for data field which contains all possible fields and then resolve fields to a corresponding to a parent type or alternatively you could try to implement graphQL interfaces

Typescript : JSON to Typescript Object

I just want to deserialise the JSON I am getting it from my server API.
For most of the solutions mentioned out there (without using any third party library), it looks like the problem is solved.

But the caveat which I observe is that the behaviour is not what I am expecting, when there is some extra property in json response which I am not expecting.
Let's take an example :

So when I work with "person" object later on, I expect that it contains only those properties which are mentioned in Person class, after all "person" is of type "Person".
But surprisingly on serializing person, it contains those extra properties which are not in Person class. Here "age"
Output for the above is :
["id", "name", "age"]
{"id":1,"name":"sumit","age":23}
Now, how do I ensure that after the Deserialization, object "person" is not having any extra properties.
If you use JSON.Parse from JSON to Person object, the prototype of the Person object is not created. Which means, if you've added a getter on the Person object, for instance, you cannot access it, because it is not available on the JSON. What you need to do create a new Person Object and map each of the properties in your JSON.
There are libraries for serializing/deserializing of JSON to Object (Person class). Checkout below library for your reference.

How to read values from nested JSON structure in java?

How to read values from nested JSON without using any library like GSON or org.JSON?
JSON is :
{data: { "EV_TOT_AMT" : "12" , "EV_CURR" : "INR", "T_BASKET" : [{"ORDER" : "abc", "BASE" : "xyx"},{"ORDER" : "def", "BASE" : "mno"}] } }
I want to read specific values as EV_TOT_AMT , EV_CURR , ORDER.
As far as I know, Java doesn't includes a JSON parser inside it's core classes... so if you don't want to use an external library, you'll need to build your own JSON parser.
Of course, you can just search the JSON string for your desired substrings and get the values moving into the string from the next ":" to the next "," (if the first character after the ":" is not an "["). But this isn't a good approach, unless your JSON input string is going to have always the same structure... well... actually that's not a good approach, period.

Changing an immutable object F#

I think the title of this is wrong but can't create a title that reflects, in the abstract, what I want to achieve.
I am writing a function which calls a service and retrieves data as a JSON string. The function parses the string with a JSON type provider. Under certain conditions I want to amend properties on that JSON object and then return the string of the amended object. So if the response from the call was

I want to change property3 to a new value and then return the JSON string.
If the JsonProvider was mutable this would be an exercise like:

However, this does not work as the property cannot be set. I am trying to ascertain the best way to resolve this. I am quite happy to initialise a new object based on the original response but with amended parameters but I am not sure if there is an easy way to achieve this.
For reference, the JSON object is much more involved than the flat example given and contains a deep hierarchy.
Yes, you would need to create a new object, changing the bits you want and using the existing object's values for the rest. We added write APIs for both the XML and JSON type providers a while back.
