HTTP POST call embedded in a static html page - html

I want to embed an HTTP call which returns a png image into an html page.
I will run the page on github's gh-pages if that makes a difference.
The url is: http://public.opencpu.org/R/user/SChamberlain/ropensci_dash/apistatus10/png
Note that sometimes the url doesn't return the png as the service is sometimes down.
I want to call that url using POST method, and simply return the png into the page. Ideally the http call would be run on page recycle as well.
Do I use an iframe, form, javascript?

When a server is feeding you image data and you want to load it, you might as well treat it like an image and use an img tag. The problem with this approach in your particular case is that you said that the server can sometimes be down and this would mean that if you simply appended the image without checking for a broken link first you will get that ugly broken image space.
However, the simplicity of using an image is still feasible. By using a little javascript with a load event handler you can append the image if and only if it loads successfully. If you get any kind of error code from the request the load event will never fire and you won't append a broken image.
Here's the concept in vanilla-js:

You could use XHR to load the binary data from the external, dynamic page and set the content of the image.

Anyway if you want to query a picture with a POST data you could, may have to do a Js XHR call and return the the image as base64 and then do something like:

Catching HTML<img> as videostream using C++/Qt from ESP32-CAM

I have: ESP32-CAM local streaming web server (192.168.1.XXX:80) - the basic example for ESP32-CAM. It generates the HTML DOM with videostream captured in <img src="http://192.168.1.xxx:81/stream/"> tag.
I'd like: to get the stream via C++/Qt-framework.
Questions are:
1.How does generating videostream in <img> tag work (is this generally good practice)? Are there a lot of refrashing callbacks for each frame or something? There are no scripts nor GET requests, is it some sort of inter-protocol interaction (UDP-HTTP) ? Don't get it. Any literature/articles on the subject appriciated :)
2.How can I capture tag using C++/Qt? I've tryed QWebSocket, but got only HTML DOM formated in string ... And even if I can get one frame (if I would hadle how to GET request an <img> tag), - how can I capture the stream without missing frames and economical use of resources?

How do I get a HTML response in an iFrame from a server?

I have a server API which is returning a HTML response. I need to display that HTML Response in an iframe on my web page. Any idea how do i do this?
So, with the limited facts I have, maybe I can crack this case. When you get your response, you'll want to get the IFrame using Javascript. But, there is no truly robust way to do this, and it is totally redundant, unless you are trying to, say, avoid some sort of UI within the response. The best way to do this would simply be taking the response, and displaying it within the current document.
This can be achieved by

If you absolutely need to use IFrames to display data (I highly don't recommend), this link can put you in the right direction.

Referencing images stored in object storage containers (Wirecloud) from img tag

We want to develop a widget to upload images to containers. This is a very well documented task:

2.- Fireware-Wiki
3.- OpenStack Object Storage Docs (Swift)
With all this you can manage to get (download), upload, delete files in a container. This is relatively clear.
On the other hand, we want to develop another widget to display images stored in a container. I think in something like this to show them:
<img src="public_object_url"/>
But I do not know how to do that. Where I get this public URL? Is there a public URL? Is it get in some step during the uploading process?
I am a bit lost how to do that. Any help would be highly appreciated.

We get blocked displaying images once they are downloaded.
A look inside "img" tags shows this:
what is the string returned by URL.createObjectURL(). If we look inside this link, the browser displays this:
We have decoded the string coming in the property "value" and the image is there!
To get the image from the object storage server we used a very similar code that the one used in the operator Álvaro recommended.

Finally, we found the reason. We were downloading images that were created directly from the cloud and not with objectStorageAPI. In you upload images from the cloud, when you download them you get them inside cdmi objects so the URL.createObjectURL doesn't not work as expected. In the other hand, if you upload them using objectStorageAPI, when downloading them, they come in raw format, so the method works correctly.
As far as I know, FIWARE Object Storage needs authentication, so there are no such public URL. But... you can download the image using your credentials and then use the URL.createObjectURL method for getting an URL usable in the src attribute of the img element.
It's a bit old, but you can use this operator as reference.

HTML injection into someone else's website?

I've got a product that embeds into websites similarly to Paypal (customers add my button to their website, users click on this button and once the service is complete I redirect them back to the original website).
I'd like to demo my technology to customers without actually modifying their live website. To that end, is it possible to configure http://stackoverflow.myserver.com/ so it mirrors http://www.stackoverflow.com/ while seamlessly injecting my button?
Meaning, I want to demo the experience of using my button on the live website without actually re-hosting the customer's database on my server.
I know there are security concerns here, so feel free to mention them so long as we meet the requirements. I do not need to demo this for website that uses HTTPS.
More specifically, I would like to demonstrate the idea of financial bounties on Stackoverflow questions by injecting a Paypal button into the page. How would I demo this off http://stackoverflow.myserver.com/ without modifying https://stackoverflow.com/?

UPDATE2: I discarded the idea of bookmarklets and Greasemonkey because they require customer-side installation/modification. We need to make the process as seamless as possible, otherwise many of get turned off by the process and won't let us pitch.
I would suggest to create a proxy using a HTTP handler.
In the ProcessRequest you can do a HttpWebRequest to get the content on the other side, alter it and return the adjusted html to the browser. You can rewrite the urls inside to allow the loading of images, etc from the original source.

If you're demoing on the client-side and looking to just hack it in quickly, you could pull it off with some jQuery. I slapped the button after the SO logo just for a demo. You could type this into your console:

Now, I'm not sure if I did something wrong or not because I got this error on the last part:

But at any rate if you are demoing you could just do this, maybe as a plan B. (You could also write a userscript for this so you don't have to open the console, I guess?)
After playing with this for a very long time I ended up doing the following:
Rewrite the HTML and JS files on the fly. All other resources are hosted by the original website.
For HTML files, inject a <base> tag, pointing to the website being redirected. This will cause the browser to automatically redirect relative links (in the HTML file, CSS files, and even Flash!) to the original website.
For the JS files, apply a regular expression to patch specific sections of code that point to the wrote URL. I load up the redirected page in a browser, look for broken links, and figure out which section of JS needs to be patched to correct the problem.
This sounds a lot harder than it actually is. On average, patching each page takes less than 5 minutes of work.
The big discovery was the <base> tag! It corrected the vast majority of links on my behalf.

I have an image servlet which basically loads an image template on a url.
i am also able to access it through img tag.
Based on my response after form submission, i need to display this image
