I am trying to open HTML file from the local URI which I use as XML Editor, to edit xml data that come from Silverlight application, then close browser window and return back edited xml data to the Silverlight application.
I tried to use HtmlPage.Window.Navigate but I don't quit like it.
I have tried using a method from: http://weblogs.asp.net/dwahlin/archive/2010/05/10/integrating-html-into-silverlight-applications.aspx
but instanly got an exception "failed to invoke ShowJobPlanIFrame"
Is there any way to handle this task?
"Out of browser" mode doesn't fit.

It worked out using IFrame overlay.
Button click invokes the following code in C#:

Try using an iframe overlay, then you can load any HTML-like content.

Did you try NavigationFramework of Silverlight? It's capability may support your needs in a more simple way than using multiple browser pages.

First, I tried finding an option to prevent Swiffy from compressing/minifying all the data when doing an export to HTML5 from Adobe Flash Pro. But no dice.
Even if I was able to read the unminified Javascript that Swiffy exported, I don't think there would be a simple function call for the "clickTag".
It's likely defining the variable clickTag in the huge haystack of {index: #, type: #}, and then doing processing each operations to eventually call the window.open() method (or something similar).

Swiffy uses the core API of the environment where the ad is served. If it's a DoubleClick Rich Media ad, it does use Enabler.exit("url").
If you want to have a better control on your output file, I'd suggest having a look at Google Web Designer. The closest experience to flash development in the HTML5 - JS era.

I have a problem receiving and opening a picture via AJAX.
If I call the following page:

a picture is displayed from a blob field in IE8.
Now I would like to open this into a div after someone pressed a key (using AJAX)?
Trying to use xhr.responseText does not work (I get an error. Using it on a text response works). So it seems that my problem is to grab the result from the ajax request.
How can I do this?

You have three options:
Place the resultant data in an iframe. Not very practical.
Take the result and place it in am image source as a data:uri. Not supported in older browsers and limited to 32/64Kb depending on the browser.
Skip the AJAX and write a web service and use that as your url. This is the best option.
You don't say what language you're using server-side but you essentially want to open a web response, set the header to "image/jpeg" and return your stream.
I'd like to know if it possible to show HTML page created in VB using WebBrowser object without using files on disk.
That is, create HTML file in memory and show it within WebBrowser object.

First wait for the DocumentComplete event (navigate to about:blank if you start from scratch), then use the document's IPersistMoniker (recommended if you want to provide a base url) or IPersistStreamInit interface to load HTML content.

Well, I've found the solution. It's not so complicated.

I'm using Dashcode for a mobile Safari web application and from the documentation (https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/AppleApplications/Conceptual/Dashcode_UserGuide/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/MakingaWidgetwithDashcode/MakingaWidgetwithDashcode.html), it appears that I should be able to access an object called "widget".
However, when I tried, I get the error message saying that widget is undefined. I've also tried "window.widget" and it gives me the same error.
What's going on?

You use widget.xxx to access things inside and outside you widget.
So to access curl and the Mac and get some data from Yahoo you do as follows

These are all rel working examples from widgets i have built. Hope it helps. I found it useful to download widgets that performed similar functions to ones i wanted and then as well as installing them opening them as projects, you can import, and then you can see all the code.

The VB.Net desktop app uses the IE browser control to navigate the web. When a normal page loads the document_complete event fires and I can read the resulting page and go from there. The issue I am having is that the page I am driving is written with AJAX, so the document complete event never fires. Furthermore, when you view the source of the page after it loaded a new portion via AJAX, it hasn't change. How are people handling this? What are my options?

If you know what you are looking for you can put the above code in a timer/loop
and simply monitor the page source for changes.
If wb is your webbrowser control, then instead of getting the HTML by using:
wb.DocumentText
use:
wb.Document.Body.InnerHtml
This will give you the updated html, reflecting the AJAX update.
As to detecting when the AJAX completes, for me it seems to be triggering a DocumentCompleted event. Not sure why it's different for you.
You need to interact with the Javascript code in the website using the methods on HtmlDocument.
I have seen this kind of behavior with C# when some AJAX scripts created a race condition. Adding the defer attribute to the script tag helped in that case. YMMV.

then add your code to the NavigateComplete2 event.

I'm guessing that the page your load in your windows app does an AJAX call, which appears to refresh the page. In that case, the document_complete event isn't fired, because the webpage itself isn't refreshed, but a portion of the page.
I found a similar question about this problem, with an accepted answer in VB.Net.
You can use the ProgressChanged event, it seems to fire during ajax calls
